Thank god you didn't put MP9 and MP10 in the same category like a lot of people do... The only thing I would give 10 is its beautiful graphics. Like seriously it's beautiful.
Honestly, you don't know how fun Jamboree is until you play it yourself! My first match on Rainbow Galeria wws probably the most exciting match ive ever had in any Mario Party ever!! And i had so much fun on the first 2 story mode boards, its just so cool to help all the citizens yourself... And the boss battles?! That just makes it even better! I didnt know i would have that much fun playing it before actually playing it, and the best part? I did it all as my favorite mario character, Pauline!
Respect for the Mario Party 9 love. I still think they should bring back the car concept in either a separate mode or a single map. It is a fun idea, if the maps are great.
23:21 - You have the exact same feelings as I do with MP 8: build-quality wise it’s probably the weakest entry (2002 graphics in 2007, not as accessible as later entries with its over-usage of the Sensor Bar, 30 FPS on boards, inconsistent 16:9, etc.), but I come back to it frequently since it nails the atmosphere and gameplay for the most part, which are both more important to having a fun time.
Grades I would give to the Mario Party games I've played: Mario Party 8: 9,5/10 Mario Party 9: 8/10 Mario Party Island Tour: 4/10 Mario Party 10: 4/10 Mario Party Star Rush: 3/10 Super Mario Party: 6/10 Mario Party Superstars: 8/10 Super Mario Party Jamboree: 10/10
@@SignOfTheTimes008 I overall disliked the board gameplay, there was no creativity in the boards theming, the side modes felt like boring slops that got old after 10 minutes... And almost the whole appeal of Mario Party is to play with friends, with is borderline impossible to do on handheld because everyone you wanted to play with needed a 3ds with the game. I prefered Island Tour for the sole fact its boards exploded with creativity.

Personally, I think Jamboree lacks in the minigame department as most minigames are mode exclusive, add on that some require the motion controls toggle on (which I always have off when i have the chance) and it becomes a major issue i have with the game, so i'd bump it down to second. But otherwise, Great list! (and I do agree with 9 being S tier i have zero clue why people think it's so bad)

For me, the car by itself is only barely a bit weaker than classic board play, and both have their ups and downs. Both 10 and 4 have a lack of player agency, but as much as I don't like Mario Party 10, at least I only waste 20-30 minutes and not 1 hour+ per game (and winning minigames at least means I can probably still win the match)
Great video, I genuinely thought you had way more subs! This video has even better quality than a lot of 1 mil sub RU-vidrs! Please keep up the videos man
Only if there is a mod to remove the lucky spaces! These are totally unbalanced shit.. I have a mod for Mario Party Superstars and after removing the "lucky" spaces it felt 100 times better :D
@@lmu304 lmao, I wish I had that mod while playing Superstars. I don't know why Nintendo insist on overusing them, and they make minigames so much more meaningless.
Opinion at the end of the day but Mario party superstars not only has some of the best minigames that actually reward skill but also some really good boards jamboree has decent boards but a lot of the the minigames are unbalanced or straight trash in comparison bearing in mind I still like jamboree but honestly they should switch places on the tier list
As someone who likes the classic gameplay formula more than the MP9-10 era im glad we can come together and agree that Jamboree is the best in the series! Only big peovlem with it is lack of 2v2 mode but otherwise its just incredible, having so much fun with it and glad you're covering it! It dethroned MP6 as my favorite MP
@@Noah-ost Its too overpowered… you win a minigame and get 10 coins, but if you just land on a stupid space by just throwing the dice you can get up to 20 coins… and in the end normally you should have around 10 to 120 coins but here because of the spaces you‘ll have 200 or even 300 coins
For me Matio Parties 5, 6 and 7 will always be my favourite ones I keep returning to. I love that Jamboree brought back the hexes from DS but I wish more of these types of traps returned in Jamboree (the orbs from the GameCube era but lol I'm biased here). I love that you have to work to get the Jamboree buddies and how they only last for 3 turns compared to Super Mario Paty's ally system.
If mario party 9 was the first one you ever played, it makes complete sense that you would like it and that you couldnt understand why most of us hate it.
@@Jajazstdhd if a Buick LeSabre was the only car I ever drove, I would think it's a good sports car. When you drive more cars, you realize which ones are bad and which are good. I'm big on board play and individual tactics and freedom to go the path I want along the board. 9 does not give me that. Any friends I've played with are the same. The rest of 9 I'm okay with. I don't think there's a single Mario party where I disliked the minigames. Heck, I would have been fine with Mario party 9 if they simply just made a few boards group style instead of all of them. I have no problem with them changing things up, just don't change it 100% without being sure it will be loved. Previous Mario parties sprinkled in some stuff, like linear boards or monopoly style or chain chomp stealing star style, and whether they were popular or not, it didn't sacrifice much for the game because they still had the classic board system to fall back to if they felt the need. They could have planned Mario party 9 and 10 better.
@@georgecheliotis418 yeqh i understand, i like both systems buz what i dont understand is why they did the same thing in mario party 10 if the majority of the cummunity already didnt like it
@@Jajazstdhd I think that's another reason why mp10 is ranked even lower than mp9 for most people. They had no excuse for mp10 when they already got feedback for mp9 that the majority of the community preferred classic style.
@@ddaviddd_the_Rowlet I can't believe I'm hearing people say that 9 was their favorite. How far we have fallen. I love Mario party but that car idea was absolutely abhorrent. It just ruins the fun of Mario party.
My only gripe about Super Mario Party Jamboree are the lack of regular 4 player minigames. There are only about 50 if you are using motion controls, and an about 15 more if you count duel and ally minigames. I wish there were a few more, but I can look past that.
@@mallow4460 When I checked it was 50 w/ motion controls. Since the minigames are organized by type, motion control games that fall into that category if they apply. Maybe your source didn’t take that into account
My personal ranking (I've recently replayed all the games with three of my friends, we did an Mario Party series-marathon, worst to best) : 18. Mario Party Advance 17. Mario Party The Top 100 16. I’m still bummed that for top 100 and superstars that there were only 5 mp8 minigames between the two and they all sucked. I had a small hope that for jamboree they would add at least one minigame but there was none. I forgot the name of that one minigame but I would’ve loved that one 2v2 minigame were you were on cliffs and you would 1v1 a person in the other team and then the winner goes up to the higher cliff for the last 1v1 unless it’s your teammate.
So I’d say MP9 and SMPJ are pretty equal. Both are absolutely amazing. SMPJ would be higher if you could play the dynamic minigames without Joy-Cons, but here, if you have drift problems, you have to buy an additional pair to play half of the 4 player games.
*_Silver medal, let's go! Mario Party 9 believers finally win!_* And also high regards for Star Rush too! Love to see it! I wonder if Jamboree's placement will change overtime after recency bias wears off. Either way, looking forward to playing it myself!
Finally not someone being a MP1 fanboy. There are many problems with the boards, the minigames, and a pocket full of questionable gimmicks. I only liked 3 boards (Luigi's Engine Room, Bowser's Magma Mountain, and Mario's Rainbow Castle), 2 of them were mid (DK's Jungle Adventure and Eternal Star), and Peach's Birthday Cake, Yoshi's Tropical Island, and Wario's Battle Canyon were just horrible to play. Also, while the game has its great minigames like Shy Guy Says, Bobsled Run, or Mario Bandstand, there are also a pocket full of horrible ones I wouldn't miss at all if they were never brought back. Like, who greenlighted the Bash & Cash, Pipe Maze, or Bowl Over minigames💀
MPDS is GOAT! It cleverly worked around its limitations and actually has unique strengths: Every play has its own screen, allowing for some minigames. Map is always visible on top screen, even when it's not your turn (superstars online should have this!!!) You only need one copy to play EVERYTHING with friends! Keep in mind, back in the day EVERYBODY had a DS.
the mario party 7 ost part made me lol. 9 so high up is a shocker I've never played it but have not heard the best things about it. I grew up with 1 2 3 so I definitely agree with 3 as that was my favorite. Now let's see how new one does I only played one match but seems good. However, the pacing is SLOW an hour and a half for 15 turns!? Economy still seems a little broken and not sure about jamboree buddy yet but seems good so far.
Talking about this series, something I like about 9 and 10 is the fact that they actually took place in the mashroom kingdom from the NSNB games then in a generic world like the old games do!
18:54 I feel that Having a song you don’t like stuck in your head so hard that you end up humming to it even though you dislike it is just the worst 😖😖😖
My personal ranking of every Mario Party. 19. Mario Party E-cards: It's just a small collections of minigames, that's literally it. 18. Mario Party Top 100: The most disappointing game of the year and the entire franchise, it would've better if this mess didn't existed.. 17. Mario Party 10: A terrible sequel to a game that was appreciate but yet hated by bias fans of the original games, and it didn't live up to expectations, what an awful way to enter the HD consoles for this series 16. Mario Party Island Tour: The only thing I can even remember from this game is that micro minigames, but this games is extremely forgettable unfortunately. 15. Super Mario Party: This tries to be Star Rush while also trying to be the original Mario Party, but it just doesn't, the boards are extremly small, npcs don't match with the boards, the roaster of playable characters is unnecessarily long (and also feels wasted), and the minigame selection is outright just lame and boring, even MP8 has better motion controls minigames.. 14. Mario Party 1: This game is very evil, do not recommended to play it with friends, you'll lose them quick after those bowser minigames. 13. Mario Party Advance: This would've been a better game if it wasn't called Mario Party, I'm real here. 12. Mario Party 4: This game is good, i just never really care for it, it just feels like Mario Party 3 again but with a higher resolution.. (The soundtrack in this game is peak tho) 11. Mario Party 5: I love the inclusions of the seven stars from Paper Mario, but they kinda feel out of nowhere, and some of the minigames can be brutal at times, but this game has the best duel minigames of the series, and it's not even close. 10. Mario Party 7: I MISS the 8 player feature soo much, it's like one of the best side mode out of all Mario Party games, I remember having alot of funs in it with my siblings and cousins. (The game is still good in normal mode) 9. Mario Party 8: The game to introduce Motion Controls to the series, it wasn't the best, but it was what it was for the time, but this game should be remembered for having one of best board out of any games in this series.. your's truly.. KOOPA'S TYCOONS!! 8. Mario Party Star Rush: Out of the three 3DS games, this is the only one that truly worth your time, the idea of having to play as a toad and get friends is literally simple but extremly fun, the game kinda feels like a race where you need to get to the boss before the other toads does, while also having enough friends to get a higher score, and it's also the game to introduce the Friend mechanic, and works just soo well here, unlike SMP and SMPJ, you can actually switch with your partners, which is really cool, because the hd games, they have you using their dices instead of themselfs, but this game is honestly pretty underrated like a certain other one from an era that older fans assume to be the dark age. 7. Mario Party DS: I love the concept of characters going small, not only it gives a impact to the boards, but also to the minigames as well, MPDS is without a doubt, the best Mario Party experience for a handheld device, and that's not counting the switch. 6. Mario Party Superstars: The only tiny issue I have with this masterpiece is the lack of addition content (aka DLC), this game would've really benefit from that, since this game didn't have that much representation for GC/Wii and Wii U Mario Party boards, and it would've been cool to get more minigames and additional characters, but overall, this game pure perfect, soo as the games above it, it's literally what The Top 100 should've been in the first place. 5. Mario Party 2: MP2 is truly the Super Mario Bros 3 of this franchise, in other words, the game that redefied this series forever, it's also the game with the most of personalities, from boards, to characters expressions and outfits and a specially minigames, MP2 will always remain as a top tier multiplayer game for the N64. 4. Mario Party 3: This game is MP2, but better, you can now access to a story mode, you can use 3 items, 2 new characters are added to the roaster, everyone finally got new voice lines, gone are those weird Luigi voice clips, THE OST IS SOO PEAK.. of course, the cutscenes here are the best from in the series, Bowser getting fling and beat up by both Daisy & Waluigi will always remain as good memories, everyone feels like themselves in this game, and I love it, yeah it does sucks that they removed the costumes, but it fun while it lasted, and I'm sure it would've take alot from the hardware because of the 2 new characters just added.. MP3 is the N64 imo. 3. Mario Party 9: THIS IS SOO FREAKING UNDERRATED, olders fans are soo unbias with this gem, the car mechanic is not even that bad, it maybe sucks that you can't move freely, but it's like it was forcing you collect a certain amount of gems just to finish a game (ahem, Sonic Shuffle), all what I'm saying is that it could've been worse, soo deal with it, it's not like that was all what the game offered, which speaking of which, THE SIDES MODES IN THIS GAME ARE THE BEST IN THE SERIES, YOU CAN FIGHT ME, BUT I WILL STAY ON THAT HILL T'ILL THE END OF TIMES, they have a freaking perspective mode for crying out loud, what or which other game ever did that for it's regular minigames? Speaking of which, it has my favorite selections of minigames, and it's geniually the best game to use motion controls in this series, stop avoiding and give it chance, u might not like, but you can at least get some enjoyable times with it, im tired of seeing people treating it like the black sheep of the series or the game that ruined the entire franchise, when people were at the time, already done with the classic formula, well.. atleast for the critiques. 2. Super Mario Party Jamboree: Super Mario Party, but done right, geniually the best Mario Party in a long time, SMPJ literally feels like the lost GameCube Mario Party game when MP8 is right there, the environment are much more bigger, the roaster is a huge improvement over both previous switch games (Despite the removal of Diddy Kong.. poor little guy😔), all of the boards are flawless, even bringing back old boards AND minigames that really deserved a spot in Superstars, the minigames too perfect, even the motions controls minigames are amazing, and more, this is just full of surprises, won't spoil because it came feels days ago, but if you really want to get into the series, I recommend playing the game NOW!! 1. Mario Party 6: Two words.. BEYOND PERFECTION.
I’m sorry, I cannot agree with this ranking in the slightest. Like, I know you meant you were trying to be objective in explaining which games you like better, but the use of the word objective gave off a wrong impression at the onset. It sounded like you were removing opinion and trying to judge these from an unbiased perspective. And for a more personal note, I feel like you’re kinda harsh on a lot of the games that I think are still decently fun, even if not marvels of the franchise. But we’ll loop back to that later, and in a positive light, don’t worry. Also, I am a firm hater of the term “overrated”. Because 9 times out of 10, it’s showing a lack of understanding why something is so popular. Like, no, Disney’s Frozen is not overrated- a lot of the hype around it was from kids. And are YOU gonna be the one to tell little Jenny from the block her favorite movie ever is actually trash? All that said, if this is your opinion, I still respect it. Like, I’m a 9 enjoyer even if I’d rank it a fair bit lower (since I prefer the older style), I quite like 4, I’m very happy to see Star Rush ranked fairly high, and from the little I played of Jamboree today, I do think it’s up there with the greats. I may heavily disagree, but I respect your opinion overall.

Blisters aside, there are minigames where some players won't be able to really win. Bowl Over & Bash N' Cash are awful because of this. And even the other 1 VS 3 minigames are awful because, for example, Coin Shower Flower is WAY too unbalanced as you won't be able to get more than 5-6 coins on the 3-player team. Ranking mario party 4 that low really hurts. That game is without a doubt the most competitive mario party. You got so many options to actually have an impact on your oponents to make them loose instead of hoping for the best luck. And that also means, that you put so many bad MP Games above it 😢 Too much for me
NDcube will never reach the highs of Hudson soft. They are too soft on Mario party games making them easy. Hudson soft made them as brutal as possible.
@alexander1274 actually they have reached the highs of Hudson soft. Jamboree is the best game in the series and it seems like a lot of Mario party fans agree with me. I haven’t played any of the 3DS games it or Advance but based on what I have played NDCube has also not reached the lows that Hudson soft did. I didn’t play much Mario parties back when it was good but my god Mario party jamboree made me feel like a child I got excited with all the interactions and my roommates said who are you talking to I said myself because I was saying my thoughts out loud even though they were just computers
Honestly, for me it's going to be hard to find a Mario Party game that tops Mario Party 3 for me. But Jamboree has a pretty damn good shot at doing so. It's easily the best modern Mario Party game to date and it's everything that Superstars should have been (not that Superstars was bad by any means. It just didn't reach its full potential). I can definitely see myself playing Jamboree extensively for years to come.
I respect this but ranking MP9 so high is diabolical… Or ranking games like SMPJ and Star Rush higher than the originals 2-7 hurts me… Every MP made after 7 is bad at least thats what I think… I am sad the even the new ones still arent like 2-7… Ok they have the normal system again (1-10 Dice Blocks, no 🤬 car, stars cost 20 coins,…) but still the boards of MP2 are literally double the size and the worst thing from MP Superstars is also in SMPJ… Lucky Spaces… I dont understand how anyone likes them… like they give you nice stuff but if they give you 20 coins, thats really many for just landing on a random space… and its not like there is 2 or 3 of them on one board… no there are even more than normal blue spaces… what even is the point of winning minigames when they hive you just 10 coins and lucky spaces 10 to 20 coins…
I’ll still say Superstars is The best so far. I haven’t tried The Party mode yet, but i have tried The solo mode and there are minigames that drags it Down (Especialy that Dorrie one) aswell as The Music in some of The boards (i have heard their real Music, not solo mode) and as you Said The time it should take to complete a game. Then you might argue with side content, but for me, The only thing that matters is Party mode and Solo mode. So Superstars takes it for almost having no fails🤗
the whack part of party 1's stick rotator minigames is that of the 4, Cast aways and paddle battle are the 2 I can absolutely confirm have never needed the palm method at all, only your thumb is needed for those 2 minigames. cuz for some weird reason those're literally the only 2 minigames where just usin da thumb means winning w/no worryin bout blisters at all, cuz its really easy this way. while paddle battle's da longest at least its winnable. thumb method for that one might depend on cpu difficulty. Whereas tug-o-war and Pedal Power for some reason, are literally impossible to win w/o palm method, meaning dat minigame island in 1 can actually be legitimately impossible to ever beat. I only assume its cuz compared to the other 2 stick rotators, it just very weirdly functions differently, hence da best move for tug-o-war's legit to just not play it at all Wario's battlefield canyon's a weird board where it becomes kind of not that bad when one learns da reticle timing to land where you want. it deff has a pretty unique concept to it much like Eternal Star's Dice rollin Duels vs da Baby Bowsers or Bowser's Magma Mountain's change all blue spaces to red gimmick. MP1 deff has some good board themes too like Mario's Rainbow Castle or Magma mountain/Eternal Star Party 1's "Items" aka random rng blocks(when bought and turned on from da store) are interesting, cuz da ? Brick Block(can be bowser or boo even) and Warp Block both auto-end your turn if either show up, which's wildin. Party 2, while da items are deff more limited via only havin 1, looking at party 3, it makes complete sense why its only 1 item when we consider da time period when 2 released. it was simply testing da waters w/da item system back then. I deff miss da costumes from 2 tho, those were great, it one of da 2 unique things it got over da rest of da series, 2nd being baby bowser space w/da super rare Fake toad Shadow Star/Ztar event Party 4, I can deff see why it has some pretty bad boards, but there's no denying it has some amazing board music like toad's midway madness, Koopas Seaside Soiree or even Bowser's minigame theme. Weirdly I like the mini-mega gimmick MP4 had, esp considering for mini events, its really as simple as getting da Super mini mushrooms or in rare cases, holding on to da normal one for a mini-event that doesn't require going through a gateway, like da end point of toad's board in da upper right corner for example. and mega/Super mega mushroom's stealing coins even if passing board events, can have some use so its kinda strategic like that MP5's a weird one in da GC era where when playin 6, you can deff see and tell how 5's capsule system was like da beta for 6/7's orbs, esp cuz you don't own da capsule space. it also has alotta great minigames. and I really liked da dream boards
I respect your opinions but it is really hard to as someone who has played a ton of every MP like seeing 6 below 9 I had to stop and breathe for a minute
