Bandits are annoying, sure, but counterpoint: guarding them gets you a funny sound effect and a sad face. That oughta be worth something. The funnest guard to hit in the game for that alone.

X-Yux is one of those rare enemies where you find its info in Frankly's trash and either don't remember it or think "wait, that was supposed to be special?"

Honestly the Puff enemies were a bit strange to me since they were sort of an off spring of Huff N Puff, and it was strange to me they appeared in more areas that weren’t just Flower Fields from 64

I think the Z-Yux should get bonus points for being the only X-naut enemy that can be fought in the postgame. He's still chilling on the moon, probably unaware that the base is now empty

I remember really wanting to like the X-yux, because their attacks are actually really threatening and they spawn 2 mini yux per turn which adds more strategy. Unfortunately the strategy that it adds is to just kill him as fast as possible and he just dies sooo fast. Also fun fact: you actually can fight two of them if you fail the quiz in chapter 7, which will absolutely wreck you if you aren’t prepared.

it took me until the remake to realize that gloombas are a reference to the orignal super mario bros when you enter the underground. Ill give props for the creativity for making what i thought was just goombas in a shady area to a whole new redesign to be underground dwelling goombas.

The mood shift from having all enemies with their respective battle themes based on Chapter and then going to Pit of 100 Trials and NOT putting the Hooktail/Unsettling Area/Actual Battle theme that plays in Pit 100 Trials but instead putting the whacky kazoo event battle theme was... Bold to say the least! 😂

The best enemy is the Smorgs. What? It's supposed to be a boss? WHAT?!

The thing with Bob-Ulks and Big Bob-Ombs is that if you defeat every other enemy that isnt them, they give you free recovery turns. They have exactly one strategy, they telegraph everything they do from a mile away and if you know they'll just blow up in two turns and you need to recover, pop a Sweet Treat or two and Appeal back up. Once they are charged and run around, go for Vivian, hide in the shadows and the battle is over. I always kinda liked them for that.

25:14 I’ll say dark boo is best in super paper Mario, as it distinguishes itself from normal boos by hiding in 3D often coming in swarms (and is fairly annoying) though I will say, dark dark boo takes the cake for lamest enemy name and I love it XD

One thing i didnt realize is that the Yux enemies can damage you outside of battle with their projectile attacks, im pretty sure thats a new thing because i remember it just causing an enemy ambush in the original. I actually died to the X-Yux once because of that lol

The Mazda boss was always such a pain. It's really easy to beat when you have the adblock badge, even if you have to go a bit out of your way to find it.

Infinite Pit made X-Yux actually a threat and I witnessed it firsthand. Moment it got all the minis it lagged the hell out of my [OFFICIAL NINTENDO HARDWARE] and did way too much damage. Though the strategy remains to just kill it as fast as possible before it spawns anything.

X yux can be devastating if you’re trying to complete tattle log and you’re unprepared

A miniboss/boss tier list would be fire, going more in depth with fewer enemies to rank

my argument for the mini-yux deserving to be lower in the tier is that i hate the yuxes so much that in my playthrough where i was trying to get 100% tattles, i actually ended up missing the mini-yux because i killed the yux too fast for them to spawn in

The Amazy Dayzees are the Audino of TTYD. They're rare, but the XP they give feels so good. They do indeed belong in S tier

I think the idea with the bulky bois was that you'd be distracted by the other enemies while they set up.

You gotta do Mini Bosses and Major Bosses next since Red Bones and Dark Bones are not common enemies compared to Dull and Dry.

I think you can fix the bandit enemies that they don't steal coins or items from you but things like FP, Star Points or even stat buffs like a Plus 2 Attack and Plus 2 Defense after a Powerlift OR If they steal Items and badges from you they will equipped them for themselves to use later in battle but you get them back after the fight even if they used them with the drops after the battle. So they still have their unique mechanic but with less annoyance. And imagine a Badge Bandit is using one of your Power Plus badges against you, that would be quite evil in my opinion!

I like how things liek the mini yux and the bullet bills are tied to what spawn them, but spinies are so hated theyre a full tier below lakitu

I think the pale piranha and the putrid piranha are both cool in that they are one of the few enemies(to my knowledge the only one, but I don't wanna be wrong) who are variants that are WEAKER than the original. It mostly adds to the coolness of the original piranha plant being the OG, but I just love the implication that the piranha plant is an iconic mario enemy that they were like, nah you ain't ready for this son. You wanna fight a piranha plant? A REAL one??? go to the pit. EDIT: That was a good list! I think I'd put x-nauts in s tier because to me they are super memorable and they have a lot of personality with all the voice lines, and I think the same for the goombas purely because of the exchange with Goombella at the beginning of the game, but other than that, I liked your explanation for them all. Here's an idea for how they could have made z-yux harder than he was in game. Make him start with 4 mini's. That way they could still give him normal enemy health and make him harder to kill.

I would move Dark Koopatrol to bottom of S just for being the #1 rank of Glitz Pit. Intimidating and tough to beat without Quake Hammer.

The X-Yux is really infuriating to deal with if you can’t take it out in one attack and it’s even worse if there’s multiple. The worst part is is that they’ve guaranteed to hit Mario or whoever is in front with the immobilized states effort and from there anyone hit with the effect is stuck in place and gets stun locked because the odds of being hit with the immobilized status effect is so high that it’s a coin flip if you get hit with it. Considering how they like to use multi hit attacks (each hit has a chance to immobilize) it guarantees a stun lock. Add in the annoying mini Yuxs and it’s just a bad time if you don’t have enough resources

to avoid ads on tier maker select presentation mode, that gets rid of all those annoying pop-ups.

Honestly a beautiful top 10; I would have just switched the Bombshell Bill/B.B. Blaster with the Shady Koopa & Shady Parakoopa. I already love it when re-skins just have way higher stats than their initially-encountered counterparts, but give them actual additional _mechanics_ or modified attack choreographies and you've got - imo - the prime example of what makes putting tons of hours into a JRPG so freakin' fun and rewarding.

Putting Spike goomba higher is interesting. For some reason it is true the spike does feel slightly better even though he is weaker.

I haven't said ridonkulous since the last time I saw Bolt. Also I think Spiked Buzzy Beatle is my favorite enemy in the game with Amazy Daisy as close second. First couple times I played the game my only way to kill them was with Earth Tremor Special move. After playing thru so many times though I usually just put spike shield badge on and it becomes easy well every enemy becomes easy with spike shield, ice power and 10 power rush badges after swapping Mario's HP to 5 but you know what I mean LOL
