Nah, honestly, both are about equal. Ds has way better single player content but mk7 has the best tracks of any game, controls are amazing and is just really fun to play.
@@voltron77 I mean I disagree but those are decent points. I think long term though, the ds is gonna outlive mk7. Mk7 is fun but it feels so empty compared to ds, ds has missions and custom emblems and really good tracks, solid music too. In terms of gameplay I feel like DS has a skill ceiling with snaking and drifting, it makes mk7 feel slow and like it has moon gravity. They traded out missions and snaking for 3d and slowly charging up a drift. I’d say they’re both good games but in terms of single player it blows mk7 out the window
@@VashVenus Totally agree with you, but I still think that mk7’s online and overall feel is superior to ds. Mk7 vs ds is kind of like ultimate vs melee. I love ultimate, but melee’s skill ceiling is one of the greatest things about it and it will outlive ultimate. In the end, both are amazing and I think we can agree that they are superior to Mk Wii.
6:24 i played both, there are actually more differences than it seems, first being the double item box being added in deluxe (it isn't there in Wii U), some character rebalance and surprisingly in Wii U the speed stat is more important, while on switch the most important one is MT, demon sliding got patched on switch, battle mode has new modes and has actual maps and some other minor stuff
There was a period of time when Mario Kart Wii went back and forth with COD MWII for the most popular online game worldwide. I remember making a bunch of kids in my class rage when I showed them the live player numbers, and at that exact moment, more people were playing Mario Kart, lol.
I like playing Mario Kart Tour. And it is in my #1 spot for my most favorite Mario Kart game of all time. All the characters, tracks, karts that were added to the game makes me hope the next game can add as much content as what Tour got. And I'm still collecting stuff in the game not spending a single dime.
I've been playing MK7 CTGP-7 mod online a lot lately. MK8D goes a bit too heavy on the items, in my opinion, and it's a bit chaotic unless you're in first where you get a banana and a coin. Item boxes appear almost immediately after someone grabs one so there's less of a chance to miss getting an item which I think is the main issue.
Ds is the only kart game where you have a proper feel of the kart you're driving, in the recent ones it seems you are kinda auto-guided on the track, for that DS is the goat
Ds sucks half of its tracks are unoriginal circle loops, basic track layout, a mother load of SNES remakes, and the worst picks for gba remakes By far the worst Mario kart they have some good tracks like Waluigi pinball and tick-tock clock really the only good tracks from that game but they remade Mario kart eight deluxe and look a lot nicer with much better quality and I’m sorry but the music in DS is annoying and laggy also rob is such an odd baller it ruins the entire game seeing nintendos if not the failure of videos games that should’ve just been left in the dust
Mario Kart DS was goated. It was my first experience with the series. I remember buying super circuit after that for my gba thinking it would be similar but I was sorely disappointed lol. I still don't care for super circuit to this day.
Mario Kart Wii is my childhood man honestly whenever I hear the soundtrack from the game sometimes I get emotional because of the memories I had playing the game
I wouldnt lump 8 with 8 deluxe since its track count is literally doubled. Not to mention the actual battle mode, 3rd drift tier, second item slot/double item box, 200cc mode, and new characters.
You remind me of that old Satire Nintendo RU-vidr, who I beloved. Who had looping-stock footage and gameplay in the background with looping Nintendo OSTs. He made Videogame retrospectives, with an ironic tone of voice.
Really good video, lots of great information, hope the algorithm picks this one up. 👍 coming back to compliment your humor, gave me some good chuckles at times
Mario Kart Tour isn't a bad game at all if you are good at Mario kart to begin with. You don't have to spend money you can even unlock all the currency in game by doing challenges and just winning games to unlock the characters, karts and all the other stuff. I haven't spent a single dime on this game and I've been playing it every now and then for a few months now and I already have 53 characters, I don't even wanna bother counting the karts and gliders I have. The only complaint I can think of is personally the touch screen controls, I've never been a fan of mobile games touch screen controls but this is one of the best mobile games I've played that I've learned to deal with it.
8th:Super:This game is super old and every other game has better mechanics and gameplay, however Super still is decent. 7th:Super Circuit:A game where it’s divisive for me, their is some good tracks and gameplay, however some of the content in this game are lackluster or straight up bad. 6th:7:7 is a game where I feel like I’m being forced into a Mario Kart and it’s a good feeling, their is some bad things, but the good content, like the battle mode, overshadow what’s bad. 5th:64:This was a very hard one, it was between DS & 64, 64 ended up being worse just for one thing, the blue shell, I know it balanced things out but it’s just so annoying. 4th:DS:A hint of nostalgia, but I absolutely love me some DS, they went all out on this game, especially on the carts and the edition of ROB. 3rd:Wii:I really wanted to put this at number 2, but the problem is that a few elements feel weird, however this game absolutely slaps. 2nd:Double Dash:Man I played the heck out of this game as a kid, the edition of two racers is just fun, the special items, battle mode, however it gets held back by the way a few mechanics are treated. 1st:8:8 is simply perfect, a game where you play on hours end, a game where you have many options and feel alive while playing, something that you feel comfortable with, the booster course pass boosted this up, so yea, 8 is my favorite game.
The Wii will always be my favorite but mk8 deluxe has so much content that I feel like it’s actually the best one, so many tracks, so many mechanics, it’s all there and I think it’s fantastic
@@SagaciousSilence isn’t double dash just nintendos version of crash’s tag team racing? I put it like this: Ds Wii Mk7 Mk8 64 Super circuit Double team Super Mariokart
@@StrawHatMidas i was in a gambling addiction of tour in 2021, I would buy character packs that come with rubies to get new characters and I’d get disappointed when I get nothing good
8 deluxe is kinda just better. And eventually it will be dethroned. Almost Everytime a new Mario kart is released, it's just better (except 7 and super circuit)
My list from worst to best Mario kart tour Super mario kart Mario kart 64 Mario kart 7 Mario kart wii Mario kart ds Mario kart 8 deluxe or mk8 Ive only played mk8 deluxe and mkds so im prob wrong
If any Mario kart is ever ranked above mk8 dx, it's just trash and biased ranking lol mk8dx is literally a cheat, it has wayyyyy too much content, including multiple tracks from the previous mario kart games, for it to not be the best. True, there are some shitty tracks and some that don't capture the same magic as the originals (mostly in the dlc), but 96 tracks are just way too many to overcome, and many of them are absolute bangers.
I start n64 so was late to party but got ds soon after and 3ds. Love 8 and Wii of course like all say. Not got boost pass yet do have to wait to see when try if lower game spot. So far want it but hate all retro ones.
Great video! Mario Kart Tour makes me sad when I see all the characters and costumes only for it to be wasted in Tour. I grew up with mario kart 64 and will always have a soft spot but there's no denying the rubber banding is awful. I'd say my favourite is Mario kart 8 deluxe. Although I am way too ready for mario kart 9 now or is it 9.5? Or 10? Idk
Wii was good. No questions asked. But saying it’s the best when you have Double Dash and Mario Kart 8? Seriously I think people have nostalgia bias when saying that. Dash was more fast paced with more item varieties. 8 does EVERYTHING prior and perfects it. No reason you should pick up Wii when those games did more
