I just struggle to believe that anyone is picking Bron,Spida or Jimmy over a healthy Kawhi this season. Also Embiid and Sga are at least top 5 and both of them are in the convo for 1 this season.
why is Shai 9th? He's leading one of the best teams in the league while averaging numbers similar to last year (when he was ranked around 9th despite his team being in the play-in) but on better defense. Like Shai is acrually an all defensive type player now while also being one of the most unstoppable bucket getters.
I think Shai should be at least a little bit higher. Not only is he scoring and playmaking. Dude is averaging almost 3 steals a game. That's better than everyone by a landslide.
Shai being 9th as the best 2-way guard in the NBA and leading his team to the 2nd seed is kinda wild. And Embiid at 6 while having so far one of the best individual seasons ever, leading his team to the 3rd seed, while also playing elite defense is awful. The absolute lowest he can be is 4 and you can 100% argue he’s the bitw rn
Scottie Barnes is the best player on the Raptors now. It is very close but all the advanced stats suggest Barnes is a top 10 player in the league right now.
Embiid, Jokic, Durant, Giannis, Curry, LeBron, AD, Doncic, SGA, Ant, Fox, Haliburton, Tatum. just 13 players off the top of my head that are better than Barnes objectively right now. Not saying he can't be top 10 in the future, but you can't just throw out "he's top 10" because it's just incorrect.
Embiid not being in top 5 is just horrible bro. U must have something against him bro. The dude is averaging 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists this year. Also he is playing just 34 minutes per game while sitting out of nearly 10 4th quarters.
@@lougis8589u don’t put a guy averaging 35, 12, and 6 outside ur top 5. Look at the 76ers without Embiid. They are 0-4 and if u watch them play, their team isn’t good without Embiid.
@@jimmykarlsson2567 sadly not really I think team success is only a very small portion of it even though it should matter a lot more, but the award is also very misleading, because technically, if you really look at the most valuable player, the award should mean the player whose team is completely fucked without a example this year would be the Pacers without Tyrese but he is not MVP candidate because his numbers are not good enough even though he’s arguably one of the most important and most valuable players in the entire league this season
@@agayactornamedmichaeldougl6289 No it’s not criminal SGA has a better team record with a much younger roster and he’s way elite on defense and most of his advanced numbers are better than Luka
Embiid has a strong argument for #1. Weird not to have him in the top 3. And it feels insane not to have him at the very least top 5. My Top 5: 1. Embiid 2. Doncic 3. Jokic 4. Giannis 5. Shai. Also I would argue Booker over Durant. Bam over Jimmy Butler. DeRozan over LaVine. Barnes over Siakam (though it's very close). And it's hard to make an argument for Cade to be higher, but I think as an individual he's having a better season than a number of guys ahead of him on this list (and he's just struggling with the least complimentary teammates).
Embiid should never be number one Jokic and Giannis are always above him. They too have incredible regular seasons but the only difference the important difference is Jokic and Giannis are actually good in playoffs.
@@stevenmark4407I agree if it was regular seasons ONLY then I’d say Joel has a strong chase for number one especially this season so far but if we are talking everything like past seasons and playoffs then Embiid is honestly barely top 5
@@stevenmark4407I wouldn’t say never but for now yes he should’ve be above Jokic or Giannis or even Luka since Luka has actually got his team to a conference finals. Let’s just be patient this could be Joel’s year.
@@tonymail7611if it was everything in the past then why is Tatum ranked 7th and butler ranked 10th. They literally played each other in 3 of the past 4 ecf’s.
Every NBA Team’s Best Player From Another Team: Boston Celtics: Kevin Garnett Detroit Pistons: Ben Wallace Houston Rockets: James Harden Los Angeles Lakers: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Miami Heat: LeBron James New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets: Jason Kidd Oklahoma City Thunder: Shai Alexander Philadelphia 76ers: Julius Erving Phoenix Suns: Charles Barkley Toronto Raptors: Kyle Lowry Seattle SuperSonics: Lenny Wilkens
Speaking of Cade being completely distraught…. Lose against the Nets again WHILE CADE HAD 40 & WAS A +5. Shits sad man we don’t deserve Cade we gotta help him.
Mikal Bridges when he got traded was nice, averaging 26 points, but it was with a bad roster, which made his team get 7-12, but with now a better roster and rotation, he doing good, def off nights which is not good, either way I just those points he make allow for a win.
@@kylebreslin27over Curry and Durant 1000000% and THIS season he’s the bitw but if we’re just going to go overall he should be 3rd behind Giannis and Jokic
As a Bulls fan Im taking Demar over Lavine comfortably ethier way you have them too low should be at least 2 spots higher (maybe 3) also Id put Brunson over Trae but neither dude can be the best player on a championship team
Fair but can he keep that energy the entire regular season? Can he get his team to at least the conference finals? Can his stats not drop down when going into the playoffs? Find out next on NBAZ
@@hyperinfinity6986Embiid can keep the energy. Also the ECF thing depends more on coaching. They can’t put too much pressure on Embiid because if the rest of the guys don’t do anything then defenses will double Embiid every possession. If nurse can adjust in playoffs, 76ers can compete.
I actually don't mind this list (even if I disagree with some of your choices) because you're clearly not too influenced by recency bias. You take into account what players have truly proven about themselves rather than just what numbers they're putting up right now.
Great Vid. I personally think kawhi has got to be higher his offense and defense combined is crazy and unstoppable. Also how is joel embiid 6th!! He is averging 2 blocks and over 1 steal, he is averaging 35 points of 55% and 35% almost 12 boards and 6 assists which is crazy for a big man, he is better then curry and doncic He is top 3 and in my opinion top 2 and best player in the league he is probbally going to win MVP too. Edit: Also Shai has got to be way higher his defense has taken a huge leap this season and his offense is insane.
Give me Haliburton over Mitchell or Edwards. Hali elevates everyone around him offensively. He's the engine for the best offense in the NBA. I can somewhat get the argument for Edwards given the defensive impact. But Mitchell? Haliburton is a more efficient scorer and a much better passer. Neither is a good defender. Would also have had Kawhi higher. His efficiency has been unreal.
I don’t get how Lebron is in year 21, turning 39 YEARS OLD in 3 days averaging 25, 7, and 7 shooting 50/40/74 and someone like Steph is still ahead of him only because he averages 2 more points but shoots the ball worse and has 3 less assists and rebounds and doesn’t play defense
Neither kd or curry are better than embiid this season, and this is being said from a generational embiid hater. They dont give more neither on offense or defense, you could argue curry has a bigger impact on his team but other than that embiid is better than those 2
Brandon Ingram is a better player than Zion. Tries harder on defense, better overall offensive threat, actually wants to be there, better conditioned, and no off-court drama. NO REASON to have Zion over Ingram.
Yeah Embiid definitely above KD rn. He's top 5, before anyone says about his playoff. He literally said they're talking rn as in rn not the playoffs, come playoff time I'm certain a new ranking will come out and then if he chokes then he should be lower but as of rn, definitely above KD. KD's team is losing and he isn't putting the numbers Embiid has
I am biased but if the hawks had any healthy wing play. Jalen Johnson is breaking out but here comes Deandre Hunter and his bum knee so we have to start Garrison or Wesley Matthews because Bey can’t defend a parking cone. This team should be over .500 and for some strange reason, hawks can’t close out games even with Trae having a stretch that only Oscar Robertson matched.
man having clint capela as the starting center is begging to lose games saddiq being a starter says it all bcs he stinks hunter also stinks dj is playing well in this last rwo games but he was playing garbageand you have only won games bcs trae ( my favourite player ) is cooking bogi is playing well and jj is showing himself I just hope yall trade trae to my favourite teams the bulls which are also crap or the Boston Celtics to play alongside the first portugu4ese nba palyer ever NEEMIAS QUETA
I would say that lavine is the bulls worst player Everybody else seems to play way better when he isn’t on the floor, and right now it’s probably Demar, but could be coby very soon
I'm sorry but Jimmy Butler is neither better than Donovan Mitchell, nor a top 10 Player in the league. SGA should be higher than Lebron and Tatum... Also Embiid not being top 5 is a crime...
Tyrese over Fox is not reasonable. Tyrese may have more assists than Fox. But as a player I believe Fox is much more valuable than him in every regard, including defense
Lauri at 23 seems low. You said he’s likely to repeat as an all star. There are only 12 all stars. And many of the top teams get 2. Idk but seems like 18 would be closer
Damn Luka over Embiid when Embiid is doing better and is a top 10, maybe top 5 defensive player. Luka and Embiid have the same playoff exits. Luka does average a good amount in the playoffs, but they have the same results
Actually Luka has been to the Conference Finals. And as you eluded to, Luka's numbers only increase in the Playoffs. Plus Luka is also a very elite passer and playmaker. Personally just watching them both, Luka can just control the game a little more, and impose his will a little more because he can do it by scoring or passing at generational level.
