SV graphics actually improve the Kommo-o line shinies A TON. Their scales reflect light like metal which makes the pink look way better than in previous generations
You can see the texture of the fur on them, too. I always thought the spiky parts around Kommo-o's neck/shoulders were scales, but now you can tell it's fur. That is a very furry dragon, lol. Took me about 6 sandwiches to get my shiny (not to mention 3 non-dragon shinies). Not disappointed.
I love what they did to shiny Vikavolt in SV, it used to just be kind of white before, but they gave it the Forretress treatment and made it metalic so it looks much more silver and I am here for it! They did the same thing with the Jangmo-o line's scales and that was the best change they could have ever done. The glow ups are just fantastic in this DLC.
Jangmo-O's shiny line actually grew on me thanks to the DLC, as they have metallic reflection textures in their scales, and it just makes the pink pop up a lot more and just look cooler in general. I even found a shiny one with a cloudy mark and turned it into my false swiper :p
yeess they so good, caught 4 shiny jangmo-O's the other day and they look so good!! I will never understand why ppl dislike their shinies they so good and vibrant xD
I have always found the whole line pretty neat, like the third one is a bit much but its fine xD love the lore behind it! always liked the shiny and so happy it looks even better now!@@lennydickson8845
Im so glad Dipplin is Gold and not Green Edit: How did I start a war Im just glad it isn’t green 😭 one of our men have been called a Minecrafter and the others are disputing shades of brown
I found a shiny Sentret last night and it’s very noticeable! It’s bright yellow next to the brown ones and it’s very cute. She is a Furret now, named her Peaches 🍑
The texture treatment, especially the metallic shine, has really turned a lot of Pokemon around in this generation. As someone whose favorite type is steel I'm in love. Which basically extends to any Pokemon given the metallic texture is now one of my favorites. I'm have not been a fan of the Jangmo-O line, but I'm looking for a shiny now. I've got a shiny Vikavolt too. The first Vikavolt since Sun burned me.
Fun fact: If you use Dipplin's signature move and your dipplin is shiny, the colour of the move changes from red to gold! I only know this because micky figured it out
Also, trainers who have legends, you can transfer Alolan Vulpix and Ninetails up from Legends and egg hunt for it or breed it down with a Kanto Vulpix to change it’s ball to any ball you’d like. I chose the love ball.
Funny story, I was shiny hunting for slugma and after I found it I went to hunt for a shiny growlithe and it had the easily flustered mark and i named it pm7
But she hides it behind the mask so you don’t even see it. And I for one kinda like Okidogi’s shiny, it’s a wild change compared to the other twos’ garbage
you wouldn’t even be able to see it in battle though, it always wears a mask and in its tera form it’s pretty much impossible to get a clear angle of its face unless it faints really wish they’d done more with it
They probably WOULD have if they didn’t give Ogerpon her form-changing mechanic, which alters her colors. Still, all it does is alter the greens really, you could have at LEAST made the blacks a different color too. But then again if you make a Pokémon shiny-locked, do you REALLY have to make it’s Shiny good? Yes. Yes you do.
I think the most amusing thing that happened in Violet was accidentally running into a Cutiefly, and it was pink. Like 5 or 10 minutes into the DLC, and I hit a full shiny charm odds shiny. Haven't used it, but I did catch it.
Definitely agree with the Dipplin, Ninetales, and especially Chandelure. I actually ran into TWO shiny Morpeko back to back when I first started the DLC which was a total shock. Now I'm shiny hunting Applin to get a shiny Dipplin, after that Vulpix and finally Litwick, I can't wait to add them to my collection!
I think we have a bit of a difference in taste lol the Kommo-o line are awesome shinys, and the purple male basculegion is way cooler than the yellow lol
pm7 having my favorite shiny in his "pm7 guarantee" hits hard and i love it. Lotad is such a little guy and i love the reddish color body he's so cute.
I decided to use all shinies in the dlc. I started with a shiny Grotle/Torterra I brought in from Legends, then I hunted a Poochyena as soon as I arrived in Kitakami. I ran into a random shiny Hattena later on, and finally I hunted a shiny Vulpix. Ribombee and Trevenant were considered for the team, but I haven't hunted them due to the difficulties involved - Cutifly's size and Phantump's immunity to both spore and false swipe.
I'm curious to see where you rank my shiny mienfoo and later evolved into meinshao. I caught during my dlc playthrough. Really love that shiny. Edit: Definitely disagree with his placement on meinshao. It is a very pretty shiny.
Snorlax and munchlax in my opinion are a must have the new models gives them a really nice dark blue which looks amazing also how is sentret is garchomp tier is goes from a brown to a bright yellow
i actually shiny hunted Poltchageist and it's a nightmare to hunt, you cant see the difference, you have to knock them out in the overworld and only when your pokemon refuce do you know it's shiny. so i personaly would put it in garchomp
i feel like any pokemon from Legends Arceus (except distortion pokemon) are no longer desirable as shinies because of how easy and common it was to see them.... To see evolutionary lines of aipom, geodude, duskull, all gen 4 starters and nosepass any higher than "waste of luck" is blasphemy i cant even look at them anymore X( Also HOW DARE YOU treat the Jangmo-o line like that they look AMAZING 😅
I've been exploring Kitakami for 20 mins and then a shiny Sandshrew popped up and said "Oh, hello." Subscribing to PM7 and watching a PM7 video does make you find more shinies.
Kinda sad sentret is in garchomp tier it does have quite a noticeable change (which was why it was my first teal mask hunt). The brown and lighter brown accents changing to a custard yellow and redish pink is so good smh
I play Violet with my son and the PM7 guarantee is legit 🎉 Both times we found a shiny were right after watching PM7 😂 (I've been subscribed for years)
Honestly, I think Spinarak's shiny got worse when going from 2D to 3D. In gens 3, 4 and 5, it actually looks blue with purple legs and looks really pretty. But in the 3D games, its mandibles (which in 2D are the same red color as its regular coloration) changed from being red to being kinda pinkish, which makes the shiny look more like a filter was put on it, so it looks less different than before. Basically, if you were to see a lone shiny Spinarak in 3D during the night or in a cave, with no other Spinarak nearby, you might be questioning if it's shiny or if it's just because of the lighting. I do love how good some of the old shinies look in the new games though, with the new textures and some changing to become shiny glittering gold, like Magikarp. So pretty! :D And yeah, I completely agree, the gen 4 starters were done dirty with their shinies. Even if it was an algorithm deciding it, I'm still disappointed they ALL turned out to be disappointing, when previous gens have had at least ONE line with a great shiny, like Charizard for gen 1, Feraligatr for gen 2, and Grovyle for gen 3 (coz I think Grovyle looks better than Sceptile, not just in shiny, but in general design). And in later gens, like gen 5 had Emboar (ugly design but cool shiny), gen 6 had all three final evos great shinies (but Greninja is the best), gen 7 had Decidueye (Incineroar is a bit too dramatic of a change), gen 8 had Inteleon and Cinderace, and then gen 9... kind of has the same problem as gen 4, where none of the starters have really great shinies, let alone the final evos. Skeledirge is like Infernape, pinkish-purplish shiny that of course looks DIFFERENT, but not really amazing compared to the original color. Meowscarada only really changes its flower collar from pinkish to lavender, but again, nothing amazing. The purple eyes of the line are pretty, but it's the only thing, otherwise the shiny is kinda unnoticable. And my boy Quaquavel is like Torterra and Empoleon where it just looks like they put a filter on it and thought that was good enough! The nerve! Gen 4 has the excuse of having an algorithm decide the shinies for the starters, but gen 9 had actual human people decide it. Who decided that these shinies were okay for the starters?! If you're gonna shiny lock the starters from gen 8 and onward, AT LEAST make the shiny starters WORTH HUNTING FOR!
My first shiny form teal mask is a shiny Applin under one of the apple trees, evolved it right away when i found the syrupy apple :D. A major + point for me is that the colour of Syrup Bomb matches the colour of shiny Dipplin!
While I was hunting jangmo-o I failed two of them and caught two one of those had the rare mark so I think it's one of my rarest shinies and I've always loved jangmo-o
I got a random shiny Cutiefly during my regular playthrough of the DLC, which is much better than the shiny MALE Combee I found in the base game. I'll take a little pink guy who gets a scarf over a little orange guy who won't grow up.
During my time in the DLC I have found a shiny Gligar, Duskull, Litwick, Cleffa, Phantump, Magikarp, Kirlia, Sandshrew, Ducklett, Heracross, and a Corphish
I ran into full (shiny charm) odds Spinerak as soon as I entered the region. It was seriously the third Pokemon I saw. I ended up trading it for a Gligar because I'm nice like that.
I got the DLC yesterday. Literally the FIRST Geodude I saw was a random full odds shiny (I don't even have the shiny charm yet)! I didn't even notice at first, I just saw the shape and thought oh Geodude I need that for the dex. And only noticed it was shiny when I encountered it and the stars showed up lol! I did catch it.
I didn’t even have to hunt for my first two: I was wandering up to the Crystal Lake and found not one, but two shiny Koffing within minutes of each other. No sandwiches needed because that’s the power of new Pokémon games and a shiny charm.
last night i got a shiny phantump and shiny grubbin within a minute of each other on shiny charm odds, usually it takes 15 minutes for a random shiny LMAOOOO but vikavolt is S+ tier for me it looks so electric
First one I got was Seedot, I was just exploring the map and saw the little guy, at first I thought the lighting just bugged but nope, it was shiny. I'll probably evolve it into Nuzleaf and keep it that way as I do enjoy the orange.
Just have to say, I subscribed to you a few days ago when I bingewatched both seasons of the JMcup... and I got 4 shinies today (first time I picked up the game after subbing), I kind of doubled my shinies. I never actually shiny hunt (do have the shiny charm) so 4 in one day is just.. *chefs kiss*
PM7: “I’m a little biased towards the yellow/gold Shinies.” Also PM7: “Shiny Sentret is basically the same as the regular version. Garchomp tier.” BRO WHAT???
ive already started crafting my Kitakami shiny team (i went into the DLC with a full shiny team from Paldea! Skeledirge, Greninja, Dragalge, Tinkaton, Dragapult and Breloom) and ive already hunted Chandelure, Dipplin, Kommo-o (such an improvement w the s/v graphics omg), Gliscor and Vikavolt!! this DLC has some fantastic shinies, i cant wait to get some more favs
The first shiny I found in Teal Mask was the same as the first shiny I found in the base game. It was fate! I used my shiny Lurantis to catch my shiny Fomantis. Which .. wasn't on this list at all :(
Currently found: Mienfoo line, Timburr line, Jangmo line, Poochyena line, Weezer line, Fake Poltchageist line, Illumise, Mankey, Nosepass, and Geodude. My next planned hunts are volbeat, probopass, graveler and golem, phantump line, and the authentic matcha tea
If this was a legends arkoos tier list geodude and graveler would go in waste of luck I have 16 geodude and 7 graveler shinys in legends arkoos If u know why i spelled arkoos wrong u deserve a happy meal
Funny story, after the dlc story i was going to shiny hunt for Yanma, but low and behold, i find one and catch it before i fought keiran when he evolved his Yanma into Yanmega
Kommo-o was always my favourite pseudo but i was always disappointed by its shiny,HOWEVER i hunted it in the dlc,and they gave Kommo-o's shining scales a new texture. Its one of my favourite shinies of all time now
I agreed with almost everything, like they were all understandable with your reasoning, BUT, the shiny Jangmo-o line is incredible and is further improved in this DLC with the metallic look, I’m upset John.
I got lucky and found a shiny Growlithe in the Kitakami already! I'm not sure what to hunt for proper though. Maybe I could go for Masuda Methoding for Cutiefly or Carbink? Best of luck in your shiny hunting endeavors, PM7!
So far I have Shiny Dipplin, two Yanmas (evolved one to Yanmega for the Pokedox), a Cleffa, Litwick, Heracross (caught it in the DLC), and a Jangmo-o! All I love! My next one is either a Poochyena, Ducklett or Furret!
