No one can convince me that the DMC2 infested chopper isn’t the pinnacle of gaming achievements and human design. Truly one of the game boss helicopters of all time
i didn't know i was supposed to be running and took it down again and again then the actual boss bar went up[ and i was swearing at the screen, having died once due to not knowing the game well and wasted my gold orb
@@nicholas3585 dmc2 chopper is way less bearable it's the pinacle of gaming no contest here + dmc2 had even less depth in combat too it's just on another level no competition
Ninja gaiden 3 razor’s edge Chopper take the crown for me. That fcking auto aim on the flying idiots make that boss a headache inducing nightmare. Plus you will die. A lot.
@@magicmanscott40k hard disagree on it being fun. You only think that if you got the game new when you were 7 and didn't have any reference what good games were. I played it pirated and I still wanted to get a refund.
So, in 5 if you try to grab Vergil while he's in SDT he'll use the doppelganger to take the hit and make you try again, but if you're also in DT then Nero grabs both and smashes their heads together.
Also, if you can Buster him with perfect timing when he does his SDT dive attack, Nero will catch him by the neck, shout "YOU WILL ACCEPT MY EXISTENCE" and do what is essentially an atomic DDT and then comment, "Jackpot" afterwards. So cool.
Little bit of headcanon here: I have a theory that Vergil screaming his head off in DMC3’s final boss and letting out a whole bunch of JC bubbles is the first time he’s used that kind of move with Yamato, think about it, it’s literally a slower version of Judgement Cut End, you can run away from the bubbles
Yeah I thought the same thing. The first time I saw it I shit my pants, felt like the dude wanted to kill me so bad he just started spamming shit lmfao. Best part is he's not even on the fucking screen so you can't hit him, yet he still regens his health, it's insane
@@godlywalrus2694 for this kind of things, I wished they gave him a different set up for DMC4 SE. He should have had neither jce , mirage blade nor beowulf…it breaks the cannon and we already played with those weapons in dmc 3. 3 times in total now with Dmc5. It is really getting to that laziness point.
I know it's a little late, but the qliphoth puzzle in mission 18 makes the nightmare fight easier by altering the arena to your advantage. It removes one of nightmare's healing pools, extends the arena for more room and drops these rock "pillars" that when broken, gives you green orbs. Hope this helped incase you wanted to try-hard the mission!
Urizen sitting on a massive plastic chair broke me. Also apparently Berial is the son of Mundus. Comparing him with the DMC: DMC Spawn of Mundus, they honestly only could've gone downhill from him.
@@BRAINALERT Yeah, not sure how valid this is, but the artbook supposedly says that Berial is "a prince of the demon emperor who has been sealed away". The only two demon kings that I know of are Mundus and Argosax, but by the time of DMC4 Argosax has already been killed by Dante while Mundus was simply sealed away. The wiki says there was another demon king before Mundus whom he overthrew, so that might've been Berial's father, but honestly Mundus doesn't seem the type who simply seals away his enemies. Especially someone who could one day break out and challenge his rule.
@@slenderminion2229 I mean there have been tons and tons of demon kings prievious to mundus lore wise, as well as the fact berial could just be super old
I don't hate the remake, its just very VERY disappointing. That's probably cause I never grew up with DMC (didn't get into it till 4) so I don't have as much hate as everyone. When people go on rants about it, it's gets a little annoying, I get it but damn just call down 5 is out.
My first DMC game was 2. My friends had to REALLY work to convince me to try the 3rd when it came out. When I finally gave it a try, the difference was night and day.
By the time the brothers return from the underworld they find the world is changed with Mundis at the helm. They come across an "influenced" Nero, Lady, Trish, and since it's canon, Lucia from DMC2. I liked the transformations in that game but that was about it. And I wonder if the Devs forgot that Trish can fly.
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602 trish can fly? also i feel like you'd either need some new macguffin or way for mundus to power up since by the time of dmc5 mundus just isn't much of a threat anymore (or a new villain ut i feel like mundus being brought back would be cool)
So nice to see Nelo Angelo get love. I have only beaten DMC 1 and am up to chess board of DMC 3, and Nelo Angelo is one of the most memorable bosses in gaming that I have come across yet. The theme, design of Nelo Angelo, arena, and moveset all SLAP. EDIT: I did end up beating DMC 3. I honestly still prefer Nelo Angelo. Vergil 2 > Vergil 3 imo. Vergil 2 is epic, no doubt.
@@magicmanscott40k I can understand the second battle being underwhelming. The first one still feels epic because you're dueling it out in a courtyard, and the introduction is iconic. Regardless, I respect your opinion.
Vergil 1 > Anything just because of that cutscene where Vergil sends your own bullets back at you it’s probably the hardest I’ve laughed at a game in ages.
As a huge Devil May Cry fan and one of the moderators of what was the biggest Playstation community, this is a masterpiece of DMC content, congrats on this video, more DMC fans need to see this, rock on!
Same top 3 for me, but even though the Dante boss battles were nothing short of masterpieces, the DMC3 Vergil Trilogy will always have a special place in my heart. The storytelling, the way both Dante and Vergil acquire new skills and keep matching each other in strength and variety each time they meet, the backdrops, the soundtrack ... [chef's kiss].
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602 I know, it sounds like he said Griffith. Griffith is the main characters former best friend and arch-enemy from the manga series Berserk.
The Savior is an all style, no substance kind of boss. It looks absolutely cool as hell, but damn does it lack in moves that'd make it fun/interesting. A boss that relies on shock value and build-up only, only to be cucked of an epic fight.
I actually think it’s pretty underrated I might jus be biased tho dmc4 was my intro to the series and I was like 8 at the time I always thought he was cool asf but I see where u guys are coming from ig🤷🏾♂️
I mean, it's pretty much a shitty version of Jubileaus from Bayonetta. And Jubileaus was easily the worst boss of that game, IMO, but it was still better than the Savior by a massive margin.
One thing I really appreciate about the DMC3 Vergil fights is how the game relies on not just Dante being equal to Vergil in-game, but the *player* being equal in proficiency and skill as well. Vergil is *INTENDED* to be your constant *EQUAL and SUPERIOR* at all times, and it's up to the player and Dante to keep up at all times. The game pulls no punches from the beginning and expects the player's knowledge and reflexes to grow as they play the game alongside Dante's growth, which means if you're still really struggling against enemies you've been racing for the past 3 missions right before Vergil 2 per se, then you're REALLY not gonna have a fun time against Vergil 2 until you fully adapt after 2 hours. However if you're at the point where enemies aren't giving you too much or as much trouble, then you'll possibly be able to beat Vergil 2 within 1 hour instead of 2 after learning what he can do because you as a player have learned how to keep up with the game. He is *designed* to always be your equal in moveset and skill in every battle assuming you improve as well, but still have the edge over the player by the end because at the end of the day, Dante and Vergil are twin brothers, but Vergil is the one who has dedicated himself to getting stronger to the point of going almost completely insane in his quest for power. This idea even transfers over to DMC5 and DMC5SE, where in the Vergil and Dante battles respectively, the game expects you to be at least close to the skill required to be equal with each brother you face, cause by the end of the game, Dante and Vergil are truly equals not just in lore but in gameplay, and it's all a matter of if you, the player, can keep up with them. *I cannot stress how much I ADORE that detail of having a boss designed to be your equal and superior to the player and their character at the same time, at all times as the game progresses. It really drives home the whole rival archetype so well.* God I could have done a lot better at summarizing this but frankly I'm too lazy to
But that doesn't make you stylish pro, it's a cool possibility that you can do instead of waiting for him to stop, I dislike that boss a lot.. it's not a actual test for your skills
I'm really hoping DMC6 takes the plunge and goes full co-op. The Switch version of 3 did it with Bloody Palace, and the PC version of 5 has a mod that makes it possible, even allowing all four characters in at once, though it's buggy when you do (four players messes up the sound because there's not actually enough sound channels in the engine to play all the voice/attack/impact noises going on at once, while for some reason Vergil doesn't work right in three player and is invisible to the other two), but going two players and also using the Legendary Dark Knights mod is some of the most fun I've had with the game, period. It's just something special to see Dante, Vergil, and/or Nero teaming up for a change and cutting through the massive swarms of demons, and of course the ridiculous kinds of juggles you can do by tossing enemies back and forth. And with the cast being what it is now, make Lady and Trish playable again and we'd have a roster of five to pick from, though admittedly Trish especially will need her kit reworked to account for her not having access to Sparda anymore, and I think Vergil also definitely needs some new weapons instead of the same old kit, you'd have plenty of variety to choose from with those five, from Nero's beginner friendly limited set up to Dante's infinite skill ceiling. And if they want to take another stab at a summoner, I was tossing an idea around with a friend that they might bring Kyrie in and tap into some of that cut DMC4 story of her being descended from a holy line, and let her summon either angelic beings or maybe some Angelo-like knights.
I thought a cool idea would be for dmc6 to have a co op mode with lady and Trish as the playable characters and basically has them adjusting with Dante no longer around then you would have a single player campaign with Nero that would intertwin with the co op one. And then you could get Virgil and Dante in dlc later on and tease there return
@@madmaxim3965 How to tease their return: Step 1:Throw in a line about how the Yamato can open up portals Step 2:Should be obvious but I don't fucking know Step 3:Dante and Vergil back, have fun
vergil still has beowulf even though dante got it in 3 then sold it. and technically in dmc 4 vergil shouldn't have force edge but he still uses it, yet he has mirage edge to replace it in 5
Full co-op means the entire game needs to be designed around it, making solo play more tedious. It's the same problem RE5 and 6. Sorry, but it's a bad idea. Having missions with optional co-op is a better solution. Or levels with intersecting paths, sort of like mission 7 in 5. Means you can tailor specific levels better to a co-op experience.
I’m not gonna lie Dmc 2s infested chopper was by far the worst I encountered because my first run I KILLED THE BASTARD EACH TIME HIS BAR SHOWED UP NOT KNOWING THAT IT HAS A FINAL ARENA
I would move the boss ranked below the fish fight up one so I can rank the fish boss at the bottom. I would also put the Infested Tank above the Savior mostly because I hate the Savior more.
I find it incredibly hilarious to look at the chapters in the timestamp and how you rant about the Drizzling Shits, the Savior, and Gilgamesh for like... thirty minutes HAHA
I'm so happy to see my home boy Goliath in the top 10 of this list. Of all DMC bosses, he's my personal favorite. I thank you for adressing every strong point of his fight, from the arena to his theme, but did you know he's also got a bunch of other cool stuff? Like for example, when he charges at you, you can launch him back using Overture, or if you're good enough you can stagger him while still in the building, and you'll get a special Devil Bringer animation, or the fact that you can hit his fire balls back at him using Gerbera, or that uppercutting him with Punch-Line makes him do a backflip, or that he has a secret line if you keep hitting him in the dick repeatedly, or that he's the only enemy in the game who can break Dante out of his RoyalGuard pose? I also don't know if those are references, but he has 8 spider eyes on his face, possibly a reference to Phantom? His body also ressembles Oranguerra's, and he's got a cool assortment of horns, like Berial, but that last one is a little farfetched. They're also all fire themed, except for Oranguerra. I could go on and on about why I love Goliath but I'll stop here. Thank you again for putting some respect on his name.
you can actually rev the red queen during the grab attack on echidna and if you're in dt as well then you can press the shoot button to shoot spectral swords too.
I remember fighting Hollow Vergil for the first time and finding out you could just infinitely combo him with summon swords. Easily the most easiest and boring boss fight in the entire series.
"You really need a hobby" killed me :D i just watched a 4 hour video about Devil may cry and it was a blast. while the quality of sound and editing dropped sometimes wich was really odd, overall it was really enjoyable. what a fun ride
When I first fought the infested chopper, it took so long that I was able to go get a rubber band from the drawer to strap the square button down, stand behind one of the pillars, and go make a sandwich. When I got back, it was almost dead
The only reason I own DMC 2 is because it's bundled with 1 and 3 in the hd collection. That's literally it. It has been untouched since I bought the collection, it shall remain untouched forever more.
@@IntrusiveThot420 but when Vergil and Vergil reassembled into Vergil, he kept all of the memories he had while he was split. Man he must have eaten so much pussy in one bite
@@Mox1990 vergil's kill count is suprisingly high even without urizen (fun fact v's clothes and the money he payed dante was from some poor sap who v beat to near death with griffon)
Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out yet in the comments, but in DMC3 when you use the Doppleganger, a second player plugged into port 2 can control the clone. Meaning it is in fact possible to Co-Op DMC3, but it is much easier to accommodate with one of the super variant characters who have infinite DT.
King Cerberus was one of the easiest bosses for me in dmc5. All you got to do to dodge most of his attacks is just jump once or twice. And if you want his hp gone just spam swordsman style sin
I disagree.. I had a lot of trouble fighting Cerberus as Dante, I remember at the bloody palace he basically gave him one middle finger and I died with two hits like Daaamn
1:17:17 it’s probably because the jester fights were added in special edition. You couldn’t fight him in the original vanilla dmc3, so that’s probably why they figured it was fair to have geryon
Savior Pros: -DRI -Lucifer can be used to stun him Cons: -Only has healthbar after his $2,000,000 jewelry is broken -Is a BFB -Heavy Rain and Storm Swords can't beat him (except the healthbar part) -It takes 9 hours to figure out how to get to his chest phase
Bro, you guys go hard on the intro clips for each boss! Even the bosses that don't amount to much. Great music selection and editing. The silly ass gigapede RE4 mod made me laugh. Bro, that bit about Lady? ... Same doe lol
I was expecting to see nightmare from dmc 1 as the first worst boss knowing that there is absolutely not a single technique for him even after all these years fighting nightmare on DMD is a complete shitstorm of diarhea that you can't control
this was the best list ever created. i re lived my dmc moments again and i love you brother i am in tears and from the very first second i knew vergil is the only boss that'll lead the list and he did. thank you so much
I have just beaten DmC1 AND am halfway done with Dante's story in 2. I am fully expecting several of 2s bosses near the bottom of the list tbh Edit: Very first one is a dmc 2 boss let's goooo
Ya'll wanna have a really bad time fighting a boss? Try beating Gigapede only using your guns while stuck in swordmaster style on the ORIGINAL version of DMC3. (For those unaware, the original version of DMC3 had a bug where the easy difficulty setting was actually the "normal" difficulty setting) I did it ONCE. It took me 40+ attempts/deaths, and about 3-4 hours to do it. It probably would've been easier if I was using gunslinger or had actually upgraded the guns before the fight, but I wasn't planning that far ahead, so I probably made it a lot harder on myself than it needed to be. Also, you probably could've just said the entire game of DMC2 was the worst of the worst, and no one would've disagreed with you. Could've saved yourself a LOT of time and sanity.
That lava spider from the first game kicked my ass so many times. Still salty about it. I got better at the game later but that was the learning curve for me.
The only reason I'm glad DMC2 exists... Is because it gave us DMC3 as the director's redemption... And my god if it is not my fav out of the series. The only one I platted out of pure respect.
I just love how Capcom managed to make the worst game possible in the series and after that, they made the best game of the series And they did it again with releasing DmC later then DMC 5
Can we Talk about how Dante can use dark slayer even tho he doesn’t have Yamato, and he can use Pandora’s box even tho he doesn’t have it yet. That fucker used omen on me
@@BRAINALERT I was about to get a damageless victory over him on on the last floor of bloody palace, then he got me with the shotgun from far away when I hit the last blow
Imagine if Dante was able to do a Royal Release during the Vergil vs Dante boss fight in DMC5SE, aka the perfect timing Royal Guard move that does insane damage depending on the Royal Guard gauge, I bet that would make the fight much more challenging to the point where it’ll cause a lot of newcomers and inexperienced players to rage quit and smash their controllers.
I still have nightmare fighting Arkham on DMD. That’s the scariest part of the game for me. Those dolphins fucked me harder than all three Vergil fights combined. At least bosses on DMC2 are a breeze.
The times i absolutely destroyed dmc5 vergil/dante is to the point where i started to make challenges for myself, no dmg, royal guard only, yamato only, beowulf only and mirage edge only(im a vergil main)
We need more shit like this. Absolutely amazing video. I laughed my balls off like never before in a very long while. 10/10, 5/5, whatever the fuck, would watch again and again.

2:51 (Paraphrased) “You look at bosses in gaming history… none reach the lows of The Savior…” Me: The Beast from Infamous 2… he has only two moves and BOTH are no different than when you first faced him at the start of the game. EDIT: And he’s the canon final boss. I believe you when you call The Savior bad… but it at least isn’t a regurgitated tutorial boss with so few attacks that a literal Newborn can count them. Lol
Fun fact for people looking to cheese the shit out of the infested tank boss fight: if you hop up onto the sidewalk thing, they can’t shoot you and you can just sit there and hold down the square button til they’re all dead
I actually love the boss rush levels and genuinely wish more games had them as a separate mode for play while playing through bayonetta and dmc I found the boss rush levels to be pleasant short experiences that only last a level and show where you’ve come from.
I wasn't a fan of boss rushes until Sekiro added them as free DLC, and personally I think they're perfect in every way: they're optional, they're incredibly challenging, they sometimes add new quirks to already great bosses, and they provide meaningful rewards if you manage to finish them. It's a solid template for other games to follow.
If you like action games and boss rush, give the Ys series a try. Those games are insanely underrated but they've really fun combat, fantastic soundtracks and they're actually challenging (especially on higher difficulties)
Greatest youtube video, period. If i ever get famous somehow ill always credit this channel,if i had the choice to get famous or get this channel famous i would choose this channel without any hesitation, this is how much i love this channel PLEASE MAKE A DMC3 VIDEO I LIKE THE WEIRD 3 HEADED ICE HOUND THING
Okay, so, since you asked what kind of name both "Plutonian" and "Tartarussian" are, let me explain. "Pluto", despite being used as a name for the former-planet-turned-dwarf-planet of our solar system, is actually the Roman name for the Greek god Hades, _and_ the roman name for the Greek underworld. Therefore, it literally means it's a denizen of the underworld. "Tartarus", on the other hand, is essentially Hell in Greek mythology. So "Tartarussian" is a denizen of hell.
I'm kinda surprised Fureataurus is where it's at. First time fighting it, I quickly noticed how broke its AI is since you can sit in the corner and fire away yet not get hit. It's the equivalent to Beowulf if all he did was stand there and look flashy. The other bosses at least try to hurt you, where as Fureataurus has no threat imposed, sadly. What makes him the worst boss, in my opinion, is that the entire mission is that boss fight alone. Literally that's it. Could've been a big moment if he fought back XD Side note: I loved the boss fight with Lilith's child, mainly because of theme and music. I always get excited and start going along with the vocals as I keep my style high. But my all time favorite has to probably be Cavaliere Angelo. The place isn't too exciting, but his impacts, lightning aura, quick speed, and the constant upbeat music makes it feel like a perfect sparring partner to learn how to get better, and I enjoy fighting him the most out of every boss in the franchise. Not my favorite theme (that goes to DMC5 Nightmare's Psycho Machine) but is my favorite boss to fight.
My favourite part of Nightmare is how it finally has a use for Ifrit. DT fully charged punches when the core is exposed chunks him so bad, normal difficulty you can keep all his cores blue and still kill him basically, as the cores break based on how many HITS they took.
