i rlly wanted to see more of the jess and paris duo. they were hilarious together and are my 2 fav characters (not a ship) i also agree with u with ur view on jess. they had such a deep connection and were soulmates unpopular opinion is that mitchem isnt terrible he was just the first dude to give her criticism and instead of getting hurt and dropping out of collage she could have taken that to drive her more annother unpopularish opinion is dave was the best love interest in the entire show its such a shams his actor left

I mostly agreed! Some of the characters I'd put in "we love" on the basis that they're icons and legends - maybe not love all the time, but definitely in top tier. For instance, Paris and Emily are icons and legends. They must be in the top. And I'd switch Zach and Anna. Loved hearing your thoughts, even where they diverged!

Sookie is just ICONIC

Omg the scene in Kyle’s bedroom with Jess pissed me off so much. But I do agree he had a really good character development and he wrote a book which is cool, lol. Rory was done so dirty in a year in the life. I almost wish a year in the life didn’t exist

I absolutely love Dean and I think people blame him because and not Rory enough because everyone loves Rory (early seasons) because she’s the main character and you’re supposed to love her which I do but I hate her at the same time cause she’s toxic af and the way Dean acted was because of Rory and her constantly lying to him she also cheated on Dean and Logan with Jess. Dean did everything he possibly could to be a good boyfriend even made her a car and dealt with her grandparents that hated him and her mom (at first) just to be with Rory. He threw away his whole marriage because of her (which he shouldn’t have and I don’t agree with) I hated Logan and Rory she acted like a bi polar bitch when she was with him her whole downfall was because of him and his family everything she did/felt was based on him or just a guy in general like I never understood why it took Jess to get he to go back to school (after not seeing him for a year or more) but not her family like that makes no sense, she also used Jess every time she wanted to get back at a different guy and Jess deserved better so did Dean that’s just my opinion.

MICHEL IN “COULD BE WORSE”? Okay, yes, if I knew him in real life, I would want to punch him, but his screen time was so unbelievably well used! He made every scene better. 😂

i’m gonna leave my ranking just for funsies. we love: sookie, lorelai, luke, april, lane, dave, richard, babette, miss patty pretty cool: paris, jackson, gypsy meh: rory, michele, liz, clara, christopher, logan’s sister, mrs kim, emily could be worse: anna, zach, brian i want to punch you: logan, kirk, dean, taylor, jess, mrs huntzberger, tj + explanations sookie: such an amazing friend and always so sweet lorelai: yes she’s entitled but i can get past it cuz she’s so funny and i also have a crush on her luke: went out of his way to be there for lorelai and rory and took jess in april: i think she’s a cute kid and my inner 12-13 y/o relates to her character a lot lane: great listener and friend to rory, fun to watch, and deserved better in later seasons and ayitl richard: yeah his relationship with rory was adorable. he’s a big softie babette/miss patty: they’re so funny together especially with their gossip, but they’re also good at making their neighbors feel at home and safe and cozy paris: had some great lines but made me so angry way too often for me to want to put her in the top tier jackson: no complaints other than the vasectomy thing and lying to sookie… gypsy: love her but not enough screen time for me to get attached rory: started out great but yeah worst character development ever michele: annoyed me at times but was occasionally funny. his banter with sookie was entertaining, but sookie carried liz: made mostly questionable decisions but she always tried to be supportive of luke clara: cute character idea for a little kid but i think they casted someone a little too old to play her correctly christopher: not the best father figure or person figure, but he had some good moments (plus he and lorelai were hot together even though they weren’t right for each other) logan’s sister: same as gypsy tbh but she’s related to logan so that brings her down a peg mrs kim: only supported lane once (setting up the tour) but had some good lines emily: she’s dead center of the tiers cuz there were moments when i loved her and others where i did want to punch her. great dynamic character but she really did some damage when she wanted to. anna: i understand her perspective but she still drove a wedge between lorelai and luke zach: wasn’t right for lane but i didn’t hate him brian: just a dork with very little screen time. he was always nice to his band mates tho kirk: i’m sorry but he just annoys me so much and as a neurodivergent person, i do some of the things he does and i hate it. i think it’s more of a me issue than a kirk issue tho so please regard this opinion as an anomaly while i go call my therapist taylor: made my blood boil in every scene and was disrespectful of everyone else’s wishes unless they coincided with his tj/gary: annoying idiot without any redeeming qualities all of rory’s bfs: dean was too clingy, jess was a jerk and treated rory like dirt (he got some redemption in ayitl tho), and logan may not have caused rory’s downfall but he sure catalyzed it mrs huntzberger: such a rude, mean woman and i wanted to throw her out the window. my only closure was emily obliterating her at the DAR thing

Totally agree with you about Lorelai being rude, entitled & also claiming to be down to earth but also clearly looking down on almost everyone else. And I similarly don't get the eternal Rory worship thst all her exes seemed to suffer from 🙄 In fact I always found those two really annoying, and that most of the supporting characters are far funnier & more interesting 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, good job!

I would put Rory in "i want to punch you" and Lorelai in "could be worse." I feel like they always think they have it worse and just make bad decisions. Also, this is a dumb reason but like their faces are so annoying..

Re Christopher, I also don’t like hum. In the reboot he could not have taken over the father’s business. The father has died 20 years earlier, who had it between then. We found in the episode he is introduced and we find he is a lawyer. There is no way rear someone college or law school could have taken control of a law firm.

Logan should be in the bottom tier w/ Mitchum, as the former is just a younger version of the latter. Christopher should be lower. Lane should be top tier. Rory and Loralai should both be lower--self-absorbed, selfish, and kind of heartless.

this show is incredible. but i will agree with you that rory had trash character development. i adored her for the first few seasons, but when she went to college, everything fell off. i don't like logan, never really did, and she got so much more entitled when she went to college as opposed to humble and studious bookwork that i worshipped before
