Luke is an anomaly. He projects an image of stereotypical masculinity and fixes appliances, rebuilds boats, carves a hoopa, puts additions on houses and so on, but yet he makes muffins, pies and coffee for a living in his cute, little mid-century style diner.
I also notice Lorelai becomes overly sexual with him and with her humor towards him but he is never open about any sexual feelings he may or may not have towards women. He is very uncomfortable and private when it comes to anything related to sex. I am an asexual person and I'm now headcanoning him as asexual but I know that's not really that likely the intention of his character... But it's still part of the complete lack of toxic masculinity in him... To not objectify women at all

you could tell that even though they fought 24/7 they genuinely loved and cared about eachother towards the end, they genuinely understood and respected eachothers life even if they didnt understand it themselves.
I forced my friend to watch Gilmore Girls and we were watching that episode together and I went “Oh, but the book in his pocket” and she rolled her eyes at me and said “of course that’s what you care about.” This was six months ago, and I’m still very offended
That push and fall in the lake was absolutely spectacular and hilarious all at the same time. And Luke hugging Rory is like a giant moose cuddling a flower and going all soft.
I've tried to picture Luke as a child, all carefree and such, but I can't. It's like he was born 40 years old, telling the other kids to get off of his lawn, lol!

Nobody saw anything wrong with a 30 year something going out on the sidewalk and attacking a 16 year for breaking up with a girl who was nothing to him except maybe a friend. That's not funny, would have been better if he had went to jail for atracking a monor.
The clips from the town meeting is definitely uncomfortable and forcing “white men America stole Native American land and murdered them and now let’s celebrate” issue
It's only a small moment but remember when April told her friends' dad she had her period, so instead of going to a museum she could go to Luke's, and said to Luke "You know how uncomfortable men get about menstruation" - that made me laugh so much, since Luke obviously also looked uncomfortable when she said that 😂

He is an icon, he is a legend, he is my mother incarnate. (Yet my mother and I have a Rory and Lorelei like relationship, hence why the show is so special to us)
The town hall meetings were my favourites. All these people who knew each others issues and then there's Luke, just getting triggered almost every meeting. ^^
I love the lake scene so much hut watching the book in his back pocket right before he gets shoved into chest deep water puts me, a reader who fears dog-earring pages, in physical pain.
Lorelei always scoffed at her rich parents and shit but the show would've ended so many times if Luke, her parents, Christopher didn't literally GIVE her tens of thousands of dollars
Lorelai is an idealist and part of that is wanting Rory to have the life that she believes that she lost out on by making some mistakes. So, while she doesn't personally care about having lots of money, she encounters situations where she needs more money to make Rory's life better.
@@davidsloat1016 You are right. She does get to scoff at her parents wealth cause ti's part of why she left. She couldn't just be the person she had to be (not have Chris, still have Rory, be respected by her mom) by staying in their house. But we can't do the things we want to do for our children (esp as a single mom) without money, and sometimes that's asking for $20 for ground chuck beef to make stew for the week and sometimes that's $30,000 to pay the mortgage or tuition at a good school for said child. Good words!
Lorelai was forced to grow up too quick imo, she was stuck with this strange mindset of a mature person with 16 year old ideals. it really wasnt her fault, she had to skip a lot of the learning experiences most people had, but you can tell no matter what she was doing what she thought was the right thing

They should make a sequel where Luke ends up killing Kirk and the entire premise is Luke trying to avoid being found out. I would watch 4 seasons of that
I always hated the weird rivalry they tried to push between Sookie and Luke, they don't even cook the same kind of food; Luke is a diner owner, and Sookie is an upscale chef at an inn. Why would you be rivals with someone who is in a completely different sphere than you? It's like if a Krispy Kreme employee had a rivalry with a Subway sandwich artist.

He is so grumpy and uncomfortable most of the time but when he is around loralie and sometimes even Rory he just changes and even then he is all grumpy and he is the best character in the world❤️
the pained look he has when rachel compliments lorelai's eyes and he nearly breaks down because he feels awkward saying that because of his feelings for lorelai but his ex is saying that XD
