thank you for this video!! listening to someone talk about jess and milo so fondly and passionately is amazing. I could go on and on about Jess for hours on end. he’s my favourite character along with luke, paris and michel. he’s much more complex than what people paint him out to be, and most of them forget all the shit he went through and act as if his life merely revolved around rory. he deserves better than her and I’m so happy he finally got a sense of self worth and could stick up for himself to her. he turned into the man he was meant to be all along, and milo did an amazing job portraying him. so subtle yet so moving and real.
He truly did deserve better. He just wanted to be loved, it's sad. It hurts like hell if your parents don't want you and send you away and people don't bother seing that. He never felt loved or worth anything until he met Rory. Even when he tried his best to be a good person and change, no one was willing to give him another chance. Jess had such a big and good heart but no one was willing to see past his mistakes to know that. And how people treated him was even worse. He just needed patience because he had a problem letting people who are good to him in. It also sucks when you don't feel like you can trust anyone anymore if your parents let you down, the two people who are supposed to make you feel loved and safe. And they didn't do that for him. He doesn't even get a say in his life. It's heartbreaking. He will forever deserve better.
I agree with a lot of thing, but just for the record, Rory asked him what happened and Jess refused to answer. But Rory shouldn't make up a story in her head that is true. Jess wasn't open enough emotionally and in communication just as Rory.
I am team Jess all the way, but not as a boyfriend. He was a bad boyfriend. What I love in him, is how he developed to be a good mature man. He clearly have family issues ( his dad left him, his mom have a lot of crappy boyfriends and husbands so we can imagine what he can saw from those men, also his mom used marihuana and things like that she mentioned her wedding day, he was raised by the streets). He has the less stabil family from all of Rory's boyfriends. And he got scared from this stabil home, and the fact that he screwed up so he run away ( he left people before they left him, he has abandonment issues, because of his father). His relationship with Rory was just a part of his development, help him to change later. But Luke was the one who actually help him became his best version. And that version of what I really love and why he is my fav. Luke was his dad, the one he always needed.
Jess and Rory know Dean is jelous yet she lets Jess drive the car Dean made by hand?!?!? wtf and even thought it was an accident. he was being reckless
I love Jesse even though the later seasons of Gilmore girls were so bad I did love the character growth of Jesse he totally deserves better than rory luke is much more of a father than his own loser father 😘🥰🌞😊😎🤯😠😡🤬
I want to saw this video for change my opinion of Jess , but I don't know it just that the people justify his actions and actitud , I understand all his problems and it most be suck but it doesn't mean that he can treat people like that and most of the people who like Jess hate Dean because he was toxic ( some times yes , he was ) but the relationship Jess/ Rory was EXACTLY of toxic so? And Dean do to much for Rory that Jess do And I always wanna say that if Rory really love her mom like she say she does , she would never be with a boy who doesn't respect her (Jess). if i can be completely honest, part of why i like jess is because the actor is hot lmao but, i completely understand what you’re saying and i agree that their relationship (jess/rory) was toxic and yes, people (including myself) justify his actions when maybe we shouldn’t, although i don’t think it’s fair to compare him to dean i don’t know maybe i just have a soft spot for him and that’s why i defend him so much
rory and jess's relationship was immature. and even in the show, they don't point him out to be this perfect bf. they show him in a very flawed manner. but, the entire show portrays dean to be the world's most perfect boyfriend in the entire world, and for him to do the things that he did after being shown like that, doesnt make sense. he was a red flag.
Teenage Jess was the worst boyfriend to Rory. He was rude, uncommunicative and took her for granted. It was a borderline toxic relationship. The scene where he tries to convince her to leave Yale shows how inconsiderate he was. She worked hard to get there and it was paid for by other people.It is not until season 6 where I truly liked him
I have heard from some discussions that they wanted Jess for 6 years, but Milo only agreed 2 years and guest spots.Milo has said something very similar in interviews.I believe that they did the best with limited time, and he did deserve better. I wonder why abusive behavior had to written into the story.Dean first kissed Rory without her consent, and was emotionally abusive through out their story line.The party scene wasn't right, but Jess was otherwise all about respecting Rory's boundaries.

This video: so here is everything bc I have watched the entire show. Me; well that comment was half-pointless. I love spoilers so they don't not her me at all, but I feel like I'm in the 5% of the population who does. (I used to say 1% and I just remembered every single person who watches a movie for the first time and keeps asking what's going on and why things are happening to people who are also watching it for the first time 😆 I'm not like that, but spoilers spoil nothing for me). I didn't warm to Jess at all when I was watching the show. He seemed like an unreliable, moody jackass to me. I didn't take to Dean either. I did like Logan, but I was growing up and only a year older than the characters, so I was maturing at the same rate they were. I haven't gone back and watched the show in a very long time. The Year in the Life Netflix series pissed me off so much I didn't want to touch it. And I dont think I was watching it air during the later seasons bc I was really annoyed how Rory was behaving so I waited a little bit. NOW I look at it and think, they could have been really good for each other. Maybe Jess wouldn't have been such a moody asshole if he'd had the influence and stability of Rory's homelife, and Rory would have lost a lot of that wide-eyed innocence and inability to cope when the world doesn't go her way bc Jess would have knocked that spoiled perfectionist tendency out of her and gotten her to chill more. Her screwups seem to be monumental bc of the way she's been raised. The same shit happening to Jess is like water off a duck's back. Someone studying by the tree you like on campus? Oh well, I'll find another tree instead of pleading and bribing the guy to leave. I think the writers did Jess and Rory dirty. Looking back now, I do like Jess a lot and he was too good for Rory. The bromance that should have been would have been awesome! Loving the editing, by the way. That music... I'm back in high school again without all the bad bits. Such nostalgia and it's so perfect!
All the good things you say are so good about him are just the bare minimum. Like that he broke up with the other girl to be with Rori. Like of course that would be awful if he didn't but it doesn't automatically make him a good person that he did that. And you criticised Rori for not trusting him? She was right not to trust him he literally almost SA her.

He was a teenager...to judge a character you have to consider the entire evolutionary arc. Jess had the best development...while the others either stayed the same or got worse year after year. Jess became a good man in the end and deserved so much better
@@xxanonimo at that point of his life he got “better” but not when he was going out with rory. All the videos i see of people saying he was the best bf rory had talk about him as a teenager. Sure he told rory it wasn’t her when she dropped out. But that’s about it.
@@justme1106 if you remember an episode lorelei tells luke that jess and rory spend every weekend together we never saw their dates ...just them going out or back to their dates they only showed us the their quarrels (as all couples have) at the end of the third reason everything fell apart, because of Jess of course..but I think their relationship was deeper than what they showed us, otherwise why would Rory tell her mother want to do "it" for the first time with Jess? their chemistry and connection was superior to any other bf Rory has been with .
