As a fellow Michigander. The reason why they are called Coney dogs is because of Greek Immigrants that moved from New York not long after the first American hot dog was made in Coney Island. So when they brought it to Michigan, the term hot dog had not been made. So they just called it Coney Dogs.
YES!! If you grew up in Michigan and grew up drinking vernors then you would LOVE it the way we do lmao I do not live in Michigan anymore and all of these things bring back SO SO SO many great memories lmao!!
Coney dogs usually have mustard, too, and I would argue it makes the onion taste even better. But spot on, otherwise from fellow Metro Detroiter. Go GREEN!
Anybody who says "Carmel" (like the city in California) should be thrown off the flat edge of this flat Earth 🤣 But in Michigan, people also say "Saleen" instead of "Saline" (like the IV stuff), "Meyelan" instead of "Milan" (like in Italy), "Byoona Vista" instead of "Buena Vista," and have a very strange accent ("Fiyer" instead of "Fire," "Wiyer" instead of "Wire"), etc. And they wonder why nobody wants to visit the state 😜
Tin can is my spot dude! Love going to the loft to watch heartsick (local band from east Lansing) then to the tin can for tasty beers and the faygo bombs 🎉😅
okay i wasn’t gonna comment until he said Chicago is trash. it is trash but you gotta avoid the trashy parts. i love my city and i always will #windycityrepresent
As someone from Chicago, I was offended for a second about the pizza comment. Deep dish is better than Detroit style to me but I do like their pizza. I love Faygo and didn't know it was from there.
vernors just isn't the same as it use to be, they have reformulated it and it's nowhere as good as it was. dude lost me with the state shirt, M go Blue!!!! that Detroit hot dog is a Chile dog, you have to go to Flint for a real coney dog.
