It may sound absolutely sacriligeous (as a Boston Bruins fan), but when I was a preteen, in the early 1980's, I remember I owned a cap and (white) jersey of the Montreal Canadiens, number 16, someone named Richard...I always wondered what happened to the paraphernalia.

Month late but matty beniers DID play in the inaugural season. He got his 9 game trial at the very end of the year after his NCAA season was finished, so no qualms getting him with the inaugural patch on the jersey
