Ranking the Doctors from Doctor Who (New Who) 

Guess its a matter of opinion, and disagree with most people : I personally think Peter's Capaldi's era is much stronger than Smith's who shined for his first season before the character became flanderised and the stories more convoluted, nonsensical, making me go from elated to disengaged to then not caring at all about Smith's character- Its a shame since I loved his first season, the rest not so much

i personally found that i struggled to enjoy capaldi's early seasons because of clara - i liked the kind of character they set her up to be at the end of series 8 but found that during capaldi's era she was wildly inconsistent. she had a very strong sense of justice and wasn't scared to call out the doctor when she felt he had done something wrong, especially if he hurt her, but in the same vein she would lie to both danny and the doctor, which caused all sorts of miscommunication and messiness (miscommunication is one of my least favourite tropes). her inconsistency as a character made her annoying because she held this superiority over the doctor while also lying straight to his face and being dangerously reckless. it made me find her dynamic with 12 exhausting because she would flip from being best friends with him, to yelling at him within a moment. However, after clara was gone, i found capaldi really grew into a doctor i loved - it was refreshing. In the husbands of river song, i found how much i loved their relationship (i wish we got more of 12 and river, as much as i loved 11s relationship with her) and his dynamic with bill was amazing - i loved how he became this comforting, kinda grumpy father figure role, especially in contrast to bill.

Peter should be a B because while I agree with your criticisms- I found that he grew into the doctor role and really gave his own take on the doctor. Otherwise I agree with your ratings

so glad i've found someone who agrees with disliking Jodi's doctor, everybody loved her but honestly I wasnt a fan at all. I liked the idea of a female doctor but writting could have been better! anyway great video

I'm trying to work my way through Capaldi this year. I've been feeling all the same things you described. I'm dreading Jodi's Dr, I hate her on Broadchurch (don't know why, should feel sympathetic towards her) so I was not thrilled when she was announced. I am interested to see where it goes next though!

It was hard for me to like Capaldi in the beginning because I loved Matt Smith so much. But once he got Bill as a companion, I actually really started to love the way he portrayed the Doctor!

Capaldi was let down by the writing and those Bloody Sonic sunglasses I liked him though and would give him a Solid B+ where as Clara would be a Z- she stayed to long! Whittaker I gave up watching! Tennent was just Superb! So A+ DT A CE A- MS B+ PC Z------------JW
