Amon...I was legit as terrified as Korra was when she's hearing his voice in the radio sweating in fear. He can do anything. Control anyone and make them defenceless in a matter of seconds

It’s Amon for me. That character was soooo well written and we couldn’t understand how he was so powerful for most of that season. Dude was so scary I didn’t even want Korra to run into him. Zaheer was a bad man too. It takes a certain kind of character to deliberately want to face an Avatar in the Avatar State.

I agree about Azula. In the beginning she was so calm and collected during fights, but we saw her turning mad step by step, and in the end she was truly frightening, even though she was actually more dangerous in the beginning

It's only Koh, Azula and to me, the most terrifying of the lot are Yakone's 2 kids, Amon and Tarlokk. Just seeing him take bending away sends chills down my spine and Tarlokk bloodbending Korra was just as terrifying.

Same, except I didn’t watch ATLA as a kid. I watched it for the first time earlier this year when it got added to Netflix. I watched the episode with Hama ONCE, during my first time watching the series, and I can never go back to it again. It’s too dark and freaky for me.

Actually Amon didnt take away your bending, that is something only the avatar can do. Tho what he did is block chakras like Ty Lee would to prevent your from using your bending for a bit but in Amons case, he was a powerful bloodbender and could block your chakras prevent you bending forever.

the end result is the same, but one can be reverse and the other can't. You can unblock your chakras, you can't reinstall your removed bending

Eska the scariest so basically..when Bolin dumped her, she got very mad. She chased Bolin with the scary look on her eyes while BENDING some type of wave in the shores. I am sure yall remember that episode. So scary 🥵I am glad they managed to escape

If you think about it,the whole world depended on hama’s escape because if she didn’t escape the last southern water tribe raid wouldn’t have happened meaning that katara’s mother would have never been killed which means that katara would have not been the only person doing laundry(maybe) and that includes sokka’s socks meaning that katara would have never had her outburst and freed aang so aang would have never ended the 100-year war

Honestly, I don"t consider Vaatu, Unalaq and Ozai nearly as intimidating as Azula. They barely are characters, they have almost no individuality in them, very flat and one-dimensional. Watching unhinged 14 years old was much more interesting and intimidating (fridge horror type intimidating).
