As a crypto enthusiast and game developer, I have to say these don't mix. The entire concept of play-to-earn goes against the core idea of games, which is that you play them for fun. Play-to-earn is nothing but a buzzword for "job". Crypto can benefit from gaming sure, but gaming can only be damaged by crypto.
This argument assumes P2E games cannot be fun. OC they can be both real fun games and P2E. Whether we play them is a personal choice but the market doesn’t care what we think.
@@danas6398 that is the same for jobs. Jobs can and ideally should be fun, but you do them to get paid. We can get lost in the semantics of passion, doing what you love, etc. but the idea is the same.
@@jaenyc263 that's a good argument for how gaming and earning can be compatible. Some people work only for the money, other people love their work and get paid for it. The job of p2es is to be the latter. The day when a game is released that does this will be the day web2 gaming will begin to lose market share to web3. For me this is a matter of when, not if. How much market share will move across is complete speculation at this stage.

Regular games still have more immersive worlds and hugely bigger player bases. I can't see how metaverse can be successful in any near future. Given much effort and investment has been sunk into it, the results are lackluster and might be turning into a massive fail for meta.
I'm also expecting to see LootMogul on his list, an athlete-led sports metaverse powered by virtual real estate, academies, games, and meta shops for brands and fans with in-real-life (IRL) rewards.

All major players for sure. Check Metabolic token it's an up and coming gaming studio on polygon! An Nft MMORPG called infinite is being built on Unity Engine 5 right now.
where would you place Faketown? Its the original metaverse. It was a virtual world game from 1999 and has come into web3. It is mostly social. If you’re creative with pixel art you can create NFTs and sell them. Creativity, socializing, and collaboration are the main focuses of the game.
The idea of a metaverse is only really appealing to those that don't play video games regularly or maybe even casually. The other half of people I see interested in the idea seem to think they'll get rich from it and just want to monetize others in some way. It has no real staying power, esp since the people making these "metaverses" are just money hungry outsiders (from the gaming industry) and have no real interest in creating anything exciting or new to appeal to people. Once people realize doing everyday things in a virtual world is pretty dull, there's really nothing left. It's not as convenient to take over things we do on social media or other apps either. So idea that it's the new social media is also very far off.

@@jaenyc263 As a gamer, these would not matter as the success of the project would be determined by how good the game is not how well the tokenomics are set up. This is why Illuvium is worth a look at from a gaming perspective. Also, FDV compared to MC is not the only metric to judge tokenomics. It is a strong one, but things like emissions, burns, revenue distribution, etc can all play strong roles in how effective a projects tokenomics is.

I am analyzing most of these projects as I see huge potential here. Agree with SAND as the top-rated project and I am also trying to have a final conclusion about Enjin Coin. I see a good team, with a solid idea behind it, but I am not sure about the token's utility. Is it only to back NFTs? Any other utility for ENJ? BTW, have you seen Ultra (UOS)?

Very inaccurate take on DFK, seems like you're going off outdated and false info. You didnt talk about the hero nfts, being able to quest them, level them up and duel them against players, it's a card game that utilises the hero nft's. (Not the planned gameplay on the roadmap, that will be more complex.) - Missed the builders program, where people can publish projects and have them vetted by the DFK team. You missed the talk program that allows the community to have a direct communication with the team. - Missed the DFK team talking with a game dev company to build pvp/pve game. - Missed gathering resources and crafting. - Missed the fact that DFK has it's own subnet on Avax doing over 1 mil transactions daily. - Jewel is used as gas on the chain and is burnt. All these features are live. If you had actually done some research, you would know that "being able to walk around with your character" isn't something you can even do and "DFK not being a game" is what people said a year ago, not now. With some actual research, you would realise that DFK is trying to fit into all 4 categories, very odd behaviour from you as I thought you would provide detailed and trustworthy info.

Somehow for some reason in some way Cornucopias is missing in this list well the 💎 the shining 🌟 is missing :) Amazingly Gods Unchained, Defi Kingdoms etc made it to this list but not projects Like Cornucopias, Meta Soccer, Pavia, Gamium etc is confusing :)
Solid list. Totally disagree with your Efinity rating. It’s the most legit project of all listed IMO. They’re in the works with Microsoft. No one really knows where exactly NFTs are going to lead to, however we know transacting NFTs will be needed regardless. It’s future proof. It’s an A or S. I would also downgrade sandbox. A lot of hype

People really still sleeping on Bullieverse even a year later, despite daily sales being consistent for all that time. I’d get in on it while it’s still cheap. The amount of information and the size of the roadmap is ridiculous!
