I am so lad to hear someone else somewhere else has messed up their kids , we thought we were the only ones ...we use a lot of his lines, “try check” major LOLS LOVE IT tourists!
When the original audio version of this routine hit the radio in the '70s, it was an instant, huge hit! People of a certain age (like me) still say stuff like "Russell, you get pen?" We all connected with it immediately.
I don’t know how old you are but I’m 36 and my older sister and I always quote Raps Hawaii. “Dats Russel. He’s such a pest!!” That and, “What iz dees? One secret taste test? Heh?”
I've heard this one a couple of times...Funny as hell! R.I.P., Rap Reiplinger...1950-1984. I can't believe it's been almost 28 years since you've left us. You were a true comedic genius!
My mom was from Hawaii and had this album, listened to it so much. It's hysterical. Also I understood it because my mom never lost her accent and pidgen.
I had a roommate in college back in '85 who played Rap's "Poi Dog" album for me. He was a mainlander, but he'd lived in Hawai'i for a bit, so he was explaining all about Hawaiian culture before each sketch: "You need to understand that, in Hawai'i, room service is REALLY bad." I seem to remember another sketch called "Telethon for the Hopelessly Lolo", but I can't find any mention of it anywhere online!
Loves a crazy game, it goes from good to lame, and you fight to hide the pain, like a bird without its beak, or a duck without its feet, and like a duck without its feet, I NEED YOUUUUUUU~! Welcome to the lolo telethon..... etc..
I saw this when I was a little kid,was so funny then and even more funny now, watching it as an adult ,if you think this is not f#ckn hilarious you not from hawaii or no moa sense of humor, rap replinger was one of hawaiis best comedians so sad we lost him so young.
I love this video from my high school generation time. Love, HRM Queen Leona Leimomi Perrells of the Royal Kingdom of all the Hawaiian Islands Sovereign State of Hawaii Territory Minor Outlying Islands USA UN Commonwealth and of the Native American Indian Blackfoot Tribe, etc. 👑💖💋

Now that put a different slant of room service. Please tell me where this hotel is so I can avoid it like the plague. Very funny and entertaining. Keep up the good work.God Bless.
Was maryknoll in kaimuki? I've been on the mainland so long, I'm forgetting things. As a child i know we used to go go Columbia inn a lot. But... Oh. I think it was on a street that intersected waialae. I remember i used to get violet crumbles candy at the candy counter and they had free andes mints. Was a bowling alley near there? My grandma used to bowl every Sunday. She was in a "league" but they mostly drank, i think. Her bowling shirt said, FOE fraternal order of eagles. Once i start remembering stuff, everything floods in.
Has anyone been able to find the skit where he sings about fate yanagi? Ive searched all over I cant find the original...only covers and that one spoof
Anyone know who does the junior calbra and canakula skit? It sounds like rap but I can't find the album. we used to listen to his cassettes as kids in the 80's.
No idea if you're still wondering this or not, but what he's saying at 3:43 is actually the expression gunfunnit. It's basically a local pidgin version of goddamnit.
