Tox is undoubtedly one of the top all time Quake players needs not be said but I did notice a long time ago he seems somewhat depressed and that can obviously affect your game. Even when he played Fatal1ty, he was totally un-stoked he won and when asked what he was gonna do with his prize money he sounded really unhappy and sad. I don't know, those are my impressions of him from watching him play all these years.
I find this game to be so pleasing to watch compared to other esport games, I have never played quake besides quake 2 MANY years ago on the PS1, but it's really easy to understand what's going on anyways :)
Tox is probably my favourite quake player but he just has these days where he either dominates or falls flat. Overall Raph is still probably a better player but we all know Tox can still do better than this.
he seems to play best when he is aggressive, it's a bit of a shame to not see it. the other time this match up happened, toxjc has rolling rapha. swooping in and out of ever fight with extraordinary levels of damage, but on the contrary it is actually interesting to see rapha playing aggressive. his aim has improved so much since that other match up.
rapha seems to be the the best at everything atm, which is both cool and kinda boring that noone really can challenge him to the point of beating like he does to others. the only one that rivals him is ofc coollerz, but even he loses out in adaptability many time in 1 vs 1. claws are good but still to inexperienced, and again the rest usualy doesnt stand a chance really
It's my second game I see toxic play and I already see why he loses. It's obvious. He "overmoves" it. All those slides and jumps look incredible, but sometimes they work against him. To understand what I'm talking about, look at Rapha's movements. He jumps only when he needs to. He moves "regularly" when he needs to. He even walks when he needs to. That's how a pro plays. p.s. Look at 9:30. Rapha knows toxic is low hp and armor, look how he walks to that armor pickup and watches it, for toxic to come out and pick it up. And then look at basically any moment of Toxic's. Random jumps all over the map w/o any plan.
Bah. 15% rail on BC says it all. You can't find a single game in a single QC game where he's been that low. Clearly an issue with his PC or mouse. Obviously when this happens the opponent will just take advantage and gets all the momentum.
Or he just wasn't focused. If it was a technical issue wouldn't you think he'd be aware of it right away and put a pause on things while he tries a new mouse or something? Nobody wants to see a high level event like this where one player's mouse is glitching out on every rail shot. I think he just couldn't find his groove.
Yea, tox getting caught with his pants down is probably PC issue, being overly defensive and then going for a major item the worst time multiple times can only have been his mouse bugging. I have nothing against toxiq, I respect his skills, but he got schooled this time.
Fortnite sucks if you like fps. Even PubG is a better. Fortnite is a fps for the masses that don't havr the skills to play fast pace fps. Quake being the fastest ofc, followed by CS, Bf, Ow and Cod. Same goes with rts games like Starcraft and Lol. Most gamers don' have the skills for those game either so games like Heroes of the storm is played instead. Dota 2 is somewhere inbetween I guess..
Wouldn't surprise me. I wish they would slow down the tournament schedules. Expecting players to be performing for so many hours and so many days, at this level, is very close to encouraging drug use imo.
@@brainrot5656 My comment is more about the tournament schedule than anything else. I don't think Rapha uses performance-enhancing drugs. Also, drug-induced god-tier aim is just not a thing. I see two kinds of drugs having a positive effect on performance in quake tournaments: 1) Beta blockers (e.g. propranolol) to block physical effects of feeling nervous, and 2) Drugs that help you concentrate for longer (ranging from caffeine, modafinil to adderall, etc.). Studies show none of these will improve your performance directly, in activities similar to quake, but they can counteract nervousness and fatigue and reduce the negative effect of those factors.
@@brainrot5656 I tend to lean more towards scientific peer-reviewed studies when trying to find the truth of a matter. They don't show any improvement in peak performance, nor have I found that to be the case in my personal experience when measured objectively (which is of course anecdotal and of little importance, but anyway).
