I really enjoyed this interview. This young man has a tremendous story. I am a 66 year old white Canadian women who had a very similar experience that traumatized me for many years. I buried much of it and when I did talk to my family I was discounted . I don’t know anything about the origin of his name but listening to him tells me that he has no shortage of “Common Sense”. As well Ari Melber is one of the best interviewer I have ever heard.
Amy Stevens it’s funny because I’m sure Common, the man you said great things about but never met, has had more interaction with Jay, a man you just judged as if you know him personally but never met.😂

It's good not to be so quick to pass blame & judge people before you get some clarification on the source of their behavior & the opportunity or lack of opportunity for them to reform. We are all products of our environment, so yeah, lets try to understand before we draw final conclusion, for that is compassion.
