Mr. Pegasus, you didn't give this song the proper validation it deserves. It's actually a very sad song about losing his mom. There is a version out there that has the translation. Juan Gabriel is one of the greatest singer/composers Mexico has given us...
‘I want to dedicate this song with a lot of love and respect… This is more than a song, it is a prayer of love that I want to dedicate as always, with the same, affection, and respect to all the mothers who came to visit me tonight. Especially for those who are a little further from me' You are the sadness of my eyes Who cries in silence for your love I look in the mirror and see my face The time I have suffered for your goodbye I force myself to forget the thought Well, I'm always thinking about yesterday I'd rather be asleep than awake It hurts me so much that you are not here As I would like, oh that you lived That your little eyes had never met Never close and be looking at them Eternal love And unforgettable. Sooner or later I will be with you To continue loving each other I have suffered a lot from your absence From that day until today, I am not happy And although my conscience is clear I know I could have done more for you. Dark loneliness I am living The same loneliness of your grave, mom And it is that you are, it is that you are the love that I have The saddest memory of Acapulco But as I would like, oh that you lived That your little eyes had never met Never close and be looking at them… Eternal love And unforgettable Sooner or later I will be with you To continue loving each other Eternal love Eternal Eternal love Eternal Eyes that have shed so many tears for sorrow of pain Of love of so many goodbyes and sorrows Loneliness that's all I have now and your memories That makes the anguish of living sadder, thinking about you as always. Eyes that saw you so much and that have not seen you again until today's sun sad to miss you so much And from waiting for you so much since that goodbye Loneliness, that's all I have now, and that's all I have now, and your memories That makes the anguish of living sadder, thinking as always, forever, and always about you. Eternal love Eternal Eternal love Eternal love love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, eternal love Esto es más o menos lo que dice. Desde La Habana, Cuba, un abrazo.
This man is a true legend. He was a legend while still alive. This is one of, if not the most, respected Latino artist of all time. He is a singer, songwriter, actor, and producer. His voice is one of the best. However, his songwriting skills is what is most legendary about him. His songs were guaranteed hits. He wrote for himself and for any Latino artist that was anyone in the business. A few of his songs were translated into English and have been hits as well. He was the perfect showman, His concerts were fabulous. His privileged voice, his sense of humor, and dance skill made his performances very entertaining. Amor Eterno is one of his most popular songs. This song is also sung by his friend Roció Dúrcal. She made this song very popular, as well. He gave this song to her when her son died in a car accident. Juan was affectionately called "Juanga" by his fans. Any song he sing is great; therefore, any song you pick is fine. However, you can start with his signature song "Hasta que te conocí". He passed away a few years ago.
If you could only understand what he is singing, you wouldn't be able to listen to that song after losing a loved one, it would be almost impossible not to cry.
Black Pegasus listening to Juan Gabriel? I never thought in a million years I would see this. He is one of the greatest Mexican artist to ever do it. He is a LEGEND. This songs meant a lot to him because he wrote it after he lost his mother. He was a great singer/songwriter. If you get a chance, listen to Vicente Fernandez! He had a concert in the Aztec Stadium (Estadio Azteca) with over 100K people that attended.
You would have totally lost it if you would have had the lyrics. The English translation doesn't do it justice but, still powerful. I'm so glad you discovered this legend. This man is Freddy, Micheal, and Prince all rolled into one. Such a beautiful, kind, giving soul. Wrote thousands of songs for other artist as well. You pointed out his mannerisms. Imagine at the time that he grew up in. And in Mexico(which is all about masculinity) Once you get past that, all you see is a beautiful soul. Loved by all of Mexico and the Latin world. Anything by him live is worth reacting to.
Juan Gabriel gave a performance for the Latin Grammys that was so strong that none of the other performers wanted to follow after his performance ...one of the best Mexican singer ever
My grandma actually met him when he was first starting out and they were young and she cried for days when he passed away a legend in the culture for sure
@@mayrapriddy5394that’s not true dude😅 he’s dead 🙃. I’m Mexican, we know he’s dead. That thing about him coming back is a conspiracy theory we joke about
I literally got goosebumps hearing this song, I have listened to Juan Gabriel my whole life, but never heard this one, and this interpretation just speaks to your soul. Eternal Love, the maternal love that is always with us. ❤
Oh my goodness - Juan Gabriel is a master performer and singer. Please check out his song Hasta Que Te Conoci, same concert!! Put the english subtitles.....this song will always make me cry.
Juan Gabriel was not only a legend in all Latin America but he also helped many other entertainers catapult to success and fame when they performed his songs. He was one of the greatest composers of all times.
Never heard this guy...but I love Mexican music! I have a Mexican sister-in-law..( actually we all married foreigners except for one of us out of 5 lol). I like that you're choosing to react to all genres ,all flavors of music...that's what's going to grow your audience. You reacted to Linda Ronstadt a while ago. Please check out her work from her all Mexican album "CANCIONES DE MI PADRE"...She's great . I don't know what the songs lyrics were about but I saw the concert in NYC and went out and bought me a cassette, at the time, and just lived listening to it . Didn't need to know what she was saying...
I loved your reaction. I am not even Mexican, I am Colombian and not quite into that music genre, but Juan Gabriel was a king, I love his voice and he gave his all when singing. Really sang from his soul. Ps. Do not feel bad for not knowing Spanish yet. I know people half Latinos who along the way has been slowly learning 😊
I saw Juan Gabriel twice in concert. He was a great vocalist. This song was played at my mom’s funeral, and it made everyone cry even more. It’s a gut wrenching tribute to anyone who has lost their mom
Eternal Love! It's a song devoted to our loved ones who pass away it an amazing song that honestly can NOT be translated and honestly the guy whom best sings it!!! He is our Elton ❤❤❤❤
You really needed to have subtitles for this. I have watched it with English subtitles. Makes such a big difference. He is real singing from the heart about his mother. 💕💕💕
This song is truly classic. Amor Eterno is one of many amazing song by Juan Gabriel. He is one of the best ballad singer Mexico has produced. Even though he is no longer with us Juan Gabriel will always be remembered by many as the best ever. He’s like the Michael Jackson in the pop music. SIP Juan Gabriel true legend
Mexican and learned a lot of Spanish listening and looking up lyrics to Spanish songs. Our language is so eloquent and beautiful when someone takes the time to learn it. This song got me through the hardest part of my grief of losing my mother almost 2 years ago.
It’s a ballad dedicated to the loss of eternal pure love! He is signing from the spiritual heartache of grief. Beautiful song expressions to love loss of his mother who drowned in Acapulco. He aches with yearning for his soul having a felt true loss.
OMG!! I haven't heard Juan Gabriel for such a long time! I discovered his music in the late 80s when I was in Oaxaca, Mexico for a few months meeting the family of a guywith whom I was deeply in love! We were too young!! I did become pretty fluent! Anyway...l learned a lot of Spanish by watching cartoons with the little brother and listening to Juan Gabriel and other amazing Mexican singers. BTW, not all Rs are rolled (especially when I say them. 😂) The title is "Eternal Love" ❤ Más amor a tu y tu familia! ❤
This was the concert of his life, there were some many people that did not want him to perform at Palacio de Bellas Artes (palace of fines arts) in Mexico City. So many even said that he was to feminine to perfect there, anyway Juan Gabriel is a LEGEND, you should react to Hasta Que Te Conocí also from that same concert.
Gracias por reaccionar de Juan Gabriel una Leyenda para todos los latinos❤❤❤ en ese mismo concierto esta una de sus actuaciones más espectaculares la canvion se llama "Hasta que te conocí"
This is one of my favorite songs. The words and especially the melody is so beautiful. Your Mexican side has connected with the Mariachi style of singing, lots of times no microphone and expression. It's like opera. Keep listening, you'll catch on. There's a lot of beautiful Mexican music out there'.
i love his voice so much, he has such a voice, it makes you feel whatever he feels things. i really need to listen to more songs of him my favorites are hasta te que conocí, and abrázame muy fuerte 🫶🏻
I would love for you to react to the song "Rise above this by Seether" It is about shaun morgan's (the singer) brother eugene who committed suicide and the song is just so beautiful.
Juan Gabriel was one of the best singers of all time. Especially this song is a major hit and Rocio Durcal also sings it and her version is also very beautiful
Song written for his mother who passed away. Eternal love. This is a classic and everyone Spanish speaking knows most of his songs specially this one. He commanded the audience with his presence and had that Freddy Mercury magic.
Grew up partying in the 80’s at the Noa Noa Bar where he began his career. The place burned down in 2004😢 so many great memories! It’s hard to pick one single of his songs as a favorite out of his approximate 1800 songs!
This song makes any man tear up. There will be some straight assassin's crying hearing this song. Because every person has a mother. PS they played this song for basketball legend Kobe
He definitely had an amazing voice. If you're going to listen to any more Mexican music, you have to listen to anything from Vicente Fernandez. He's basically Elvis and has such a powerful voice. I definitely recommend him. Thanks for the content
I lived in Mexico back in 1990-1991..my favorite song of his was No Tingo Dinero. Still have some recordings on a cassette I made then..but had to buy a CD if his. No, I don't speak Spanish, but I understand quite a bit.
Dedicated to all the mothers...specially for those whom are no longer with us (his mother). El Divo de Juarez Juan Gabriel. You might try Ruben Blades performing "Pedro Navajas" with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Orchestra. In the Billy Joel Piano Man reaction you guys were talking about the music from the 70s and 80s in NYC. Salsa music was basically born in NYC an the best salsa singers and groups were there in that era.
You don’t to learn Spanish bro, you heard the soul (art) of the song and that transcends all barriers. You heard the message and that’s all that matters😊
He is a legend full stop! Not just in Mexico. But if there’s ever a list, that accumulates all singers across all time and the world- he has to be up there with top 10 but I’m being bias, Top 50😅 because that’s going to be a huge list😂
