Mr. Pegasus, you didn't give this song the proper validation it deserves. It's actually a very sad song about losing his mom. There is a version out there that has the translation. Juan Gabriel is one of the greatest singer/composers Mexico has given us...
Juan Gabriel is the BIGGEST super start in Latin American music. He has written over 2,500 songs. Sold millions upon millions of albums. Wrote songs for some of the best artists in the world. He is a Legend! ❤
There’s no Spanish speaker that doesn’t tear up hearing this song. From Guatemala here. We played this song at my mom’s funeral. It broke our heart. We’ve always loved the musical legacy of Juan Gabriel!
‘I want to dedicate this song with a lot of love and respect… This is more than a song, it is a prayer of love that I want to dedicate as always, with the same, affection, and respect to all the mothers who came to visit me tonight. Especially for those who are a little further from me' You are the sadness of my eyes Who cries in silence for your love I look in the mirror and see my face The time I have suffered for your goodbye I force myself to forget the thought Well, I'm always thinking about yesterday I'd rather be asleep than awake It hurts me so much that you are not here As I would like, oh that you lived That your little eyes had never met Never close and be looking at them Eternal love And unforgettable. Sooner or later I will be with you To continue loving each other I have suffered a lot from your absence From that day until today, I am not happy And although my conscience is clear I know I could have done more for you. Dark loneliness I am living The same loneliness of your grave, mom And it is that you are, it is that you are the love that I have The saddest memory of Acapulco But as I would like, oh that you lived That your little eyes had never met Never close and be looking at them… Eternal love And unforgettable Sooner or later I will be with you To continue loving each other Eternal love Eternal Eternal love Eternal Eyes that have shed so many tears for sorrow of pain Of love of so many goodbyes and sorrows Loneliness that's all I have now and your memories That makes the anguish of living sadder, thinking about you as always. Eyes that saw you so much and that have not seen you again until today's sun sad to miss you so much And from waiting for you so much since that goodbye Loneliness, that's all I have now, and that's all I have now, and your memories That makes the anguish of living sadder, thinking as always, forever, and always about you. Eternal love Eternal Eternal love Eternal love love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, eternal love Esto es más o menos lo que dice. Desde La Habana, Cuba, un abrazo.
If you could only understand what he is singing, you wouldn't be able to listen to that song after losing a loved one, it would be almost impossible not to cry.
Dude Juan Gabriel is the Emperor of romantic songs. He wrote 100s of songs. He is one of Mexico best singer. I am from Puerto Rico and the Spanish world love this guy. This particular song is about eternal love for your mother and everyone who knows Spanish and lost his mother cries when they hear it.
My parents are from Puerto Rico, and they loved him. His music is beautiful. They didn't really listen to mexican music but when it came to him, he was the exception. Mad respect to Juan Gabriel and mexico.
@Duquedecastro you just gonna ignore the fact I have mad props to Juan Gabriel and your in your grammar feelings? It's the internet bro relax, wasn't no disrespect, i got mad love for mexicans. Get mad at auto correction. If I were writing by hand or a thesis then ok I'm gonna go back and fix my grammar
This man is a true legend. He was a legend while still alive. This is one of, if not the most, respected Latino artist of all time. He is a singer, songwriter, actor, and producer. His voice is one of the best. However, his songwriting skills is what is most legendary about him. His songs were guaranteed hits. He wrote for himself and for any Latino artist that was anyone in the business. A few of his songs were translated into English and have been hits as well. He was the perfect showman, His concerts were fabulous. His privileged voice, his sense of humor, and dance skill made his performances very entertaining. Amor Eterno is one of his most popular songs. This song is also sung by his friend Roció Dúrcal. She made this song very popular, as well. He gave this song to her when her son died in a car accident. Juan was affectionately called "Juanga" by his fans. Any song he sing is great; therefore, any song you pick is fine. However, you can start with his signature song "Hasta que te conocí". He passed away a few years ago.
@@vilmacastillo6808 Not true! Rocio never lost any children! All of her (3) children are still alive and well! Juan Gabriel wrote this song for his mother who passed away and whom he adored. He was in Acapulco when he got the news and that's what this song is about! He gifted Rocio this song, just like he did many other songs, but it wasn't about her!
He is singing to his mother in heaven. When someone understands what he is saying, they cry because they think of a loved one that has passed away. This song has been played many times at funerals. He is saying he wishes his mother's eyes would have never closed. And that her eyes would still be looking at him. And he wished he did more for her. She passed away in Acapulco and that was the sadest memory from Acapulco.
Yesss I been to his concert before he died n wow he sings past his time like Vicente-my husband was not excited about him n walked out of concert stunned
Mexico always cries when listening this song because of its meaning and because he is no longer with us and he was and will be one of the best singers in Mexico!❤
Juan Gabriel was my mother's all time favorite singer. I surprised her for her birthday and took her to one of his concerts. She even got to meet him, he even gave her a kiss on the cheek, which she always talked about. When my Mamacita died we had "Amor Eterno," engraved on her tombstone. I'm so glad we did that for her. Juan Gabriel was and is a LEGEND.
My dad was his personal cab driver when he was barely starting to sing at the Noa Noa bar in Ciudad Juarez. The bar owner actually was the one paying my dad because Juan Gabriel only earned tips from the customers because he was under age .
Juan Gabriel was one of the best songwriter singers in all of Mexico. He did not have a perfect singing voice. But he sang with an emotion that we all can comprehend. He wrote so many songs. Many for other singers. Every singer in Mexico knows and sings his songs. Amor Eterno or Eternal Love is probably his most beautiful song. He wrote about the love he has for his mother when she passed away and his grief is so evident. The mivie "Noa Noa" is about his early years in music. The most beautiful rendition of this song is by Pandora. They show the beauty of his music. I had someone sing this at my mother's funeral. I cry every time I hear it. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago. But no one could sing with the emotion that he did!
You would have totally lost it if you would have had the lyrics. The English translation doesn't do it justice but, still powerful. I'm so glad you discovered this legend. This man is Freddy, Micheal, and Prince all rolled into one. Such a beautiful, kind, giving soul. Wrote thousands of songs for other artist as well. You pointed out his mannerisms. Imagine at the time that he grew up in. And in Mexico(which is all about masculinity) Once you get past that, all you see is a beautiful soul. Loved by all of Mexico and the Latin world. Anything by him live is worth reacting to.
My husband took me to Africa on our honeymoon. Our hotel driver had this same exact song playing when he picked us up from the airport. He is known and loved in every corner of the globe.
Im sorry for your loss 😢. When my brother passed away almost 3 years ago this song was one of the songs played at his service and I can' t listen to this song without feeling the same heartbreak I felt then, It just totally breaks me. 😢
@@3rdLettagangg I’m sorry for your loss. I will say the song is also therapeutic for me sometimes. I’ll play it with a glass of wine and have me a good cry.
You should have done some research prior to listening to this song. Juan Gabriel had a very sad childhood, he was placed in an orphanage. This song is about his eternal love for his lost mom. It's heartbreaking. Juan Gabriel was the most prolific, talented singer and songwriter. He was also generous to new talent, helping them with their careers by giving them new songs he wrote. See Ana Gabriel.
He was singing the song on Mother's Day this song is about his mother. He came from a very poor family. He had other brothers and sisters but he was the only one that his mom took to a boarding school and after a while never came to visit him again none of his family came to visit him again so he grew up longing for his family especially his mother and he never understood why he was left there. Later on he left that place and went on his own and started his career in different places he did contact his mother they made amends but he always had that Longing To Be Loved by his family especially his mother. His father was abusive to him because he thought he was gay. He was very famous and was very giving and gave a lot of money to everyone he could specially children. This song is called eternal love it speaks about his mom now being gone because she passed away but that someday they'll be back together again it's a very lovely and beautiful sad song
Juan Gabriel gave a performance for the Latin Grammys that was so strong that none of the other performers wanted to follow after his performance ...one of the best Mexican singer ever
Yes, he did performed like that in all of his shows. On May 10, 2015, Juan Gabriel captivated the audience at the National Auditorium in Mexico City with an unprecedented spectacle. On a night destined to celebrate Mother’s Day, Juan Gabriel delivered a concert that defied all expectations, extending for 6 hours and 15 minutes, leaving everyone present speechless. Juan Gabriel was known as “El Divo de Juárez”, but people lovingly called him “Juanga”. He sadly died in 2016. Thank you for this video ❤
GOD took a day off to make Juan Gabriel. His voice commands every angels attention. An entire stadium knew the moment to chime in with chorus with out any directions.
My grand mother pass. She was like my mother raise me. This song was sang when laying her in the grown. I have a tattoo that’s says AMOR ETERNO WITH HER NAME HER DATE OF BITRTH AND DATE OF DEATH. ❤️❤️❤️ ima grown man and cry almost every time when I hear this song. If I don’t cry my eye gate glassy. Amazing singer.! Many people asked him if he was gay. He always responded” lo que se mira no se pregunta”. Kind of al saying don’t ask the obvious. This song is POWERFULLY AND NO TRANSLATION CAN EVER SHOW THAT RIP Juan Gabriel.
My grandma actually met him when he was first starting out and they were young and she cried for days when he passed away a legend in the culture for sure
@@mayrapriddy5394that’s not true dude😅 he’s dead 🙃. I’m Mexican, we know he’s dead. That thing about him coming back is a conspiracy theory we joke about
Juan Gabriel was a well known international artist singer and song writer. Very famous in the Spanish countries world. He already pass away and left a big legacy in the industry. Well remembered, missed and loved by everyone. Amor Eterno is just one more of his classic outstanding performances in remembrance to his diseased mother in a mother's day show. If you could only understand this song yes, you would cry......Nice to see you wondering into the Mariachi music. I am not from Mexico and I feel a great deal of admiration and respect for this type of music for it's beauty and great performers.
I saw Juan Gabriel twice in concert. He was a great vocalist. This song was played at my mom’s funeral, and it made everyone cry even more. It’s a gut wrenching tribute to anyone who has lost their mom
Black Pegasus listening to Juan Gabriel? I never thought in a million years I would see this. He is one of the greatest Mexican artist to ever do it. He is a LEGEND. This songs meant a lot to him because he wrote it after he lost his mother. He was a great singer/songwriter. If you get a chance, listen to Vicente Fernandez! He had a concert in the Aztec Stadium (Estadio Azteca) with over 100K people that attended.
Being half Mexican u should definitely get familiar with this music. It’s priceless and shows respect and love to the Latin community. U can learn Spanish listening to his music.
Juan Gabriel was not only a legend in all Latin America but he also helped many other entertainers catapult to success and fame when they performed his songs. He was one of the greatest composers of all times.
I just dedicated this song to my mom two weeks ago for my birthday because she's been gone for over two years and she ALWAYS was the first person who would call me, wish me a happy birthday and give me her blessing. I miss her so much. 😭 💔
I literally got goosebumps hearing this song, I have listened to Juan Gabriel my whole life, but never heard this one, and this interpretation just speaks to your soul. Eternal Love, the maternal love that is always with us. ❤
The title means "eternal love." If you understood Spanish, listening to his songs would make you drink and cry. In an interview, he was asked if he was gay, to which he replied, "what you see is not to be asked." It is evident that he was gay, but he never came out publicly. He proposed to a woman named Isabel Pantoja, but she turned him down. I'm sure she knew he was not straight. He was also married and had several children.
Juan Gabriel fue UNICO Toda su musica fue UN hitazo en Mexico, Latin America,España y aqui en USA. Todo un Artista en toda la extension de la palabra. Juan Gabriel por Siempre una Leyenda ❤
Oh my goodness - Juan Gabriel is a master performer and singer. Please check out his song Hasta Que Te Conoci, same concert!! Put the english subtitles.....this song will always make me cry.
Juan Gabriel was a singer, performer, writer beyond talented artist. When It came to him and Michael Jackson Miami played NO GAMES. This song hits hard now that Miami is gone. May they all rest in peace❤
Just that you know from 4:15 minute he improvise all those verses. Is the one thing he did, in his concerts he used to add verses to the songs, he could keep on and on and on. Just One of the greatest Singer. He was our Elton John. After my dad's passing I always cry listening to this song.
Mexican and learned a lot of Spanish listening and looking up lyrics to Spanish songs. Our language is so eloquent and beautiful when someone takes the time to learn it. This song got me through the hardest part of my grief of losing my mother almost 2 years ago.
Juan Gabriel died recently, but he is one of the most important Latin American singers in the industry, not only for his wonderful performances but also for being one of the largest composers in the modern industry that we have ever had. He has written songs for the most famous singers of speaks Hispanic. You can put on the translator and read their songs in English.
Never heard this guy...but I love Mexican music! I have a Mexican sister-in-law..( actually we all married foreigners except for one of us out of 5 lol). I like that you're choosing to react to all genres ,all flavors of music...that's what's going to grow your audience. You reacted to Linda Ronstadt a while ago. Please check out her work from her all Mexican album "CANCIONES DE MI PADRE"...She's great . I don't know what the songs lyrics were about but I saw the concert in NYC and went out and bought me a cassette, at the time, and just lived listening to it . Didn't need to know what she was saying...
Amor Eterno is a mourning song. He wrote this song after his mother died. It’s gut wrenching. He is on the Rolling Stone’s list for best vocalists. He wrote over a thousand songs. Juan Gabriel is a legend.
One of the most beautiful odes of the purest love one could sing to their late mother. His life story is quite sad in his younger years. He was a beautiful soul who possessed a heart of gold. Not many like him roamed this earth. Truly a legend who is sorely missed 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
You really needed to have subtitles for this. I have watched it with English subtitles. Makes such a big difference. He is real singing from the heart about his mother. 💕💕💕
This is not justt a song of sadneness but a celebration in honor of his mother. Eternal love..... Juan Gabriel indeed sang with his heart on his tongue, he died couple of years back, he had a horrendous and poor childhood in the Southern State of Michoacan in Mexico. He later moved to northern city of Juarez where he rose to national fame and glory. He worshipped his mother in life . The tongue is an extension of the heart , the same tissues and cells that form the heart are also connected thru all forms of nerve endings. All great singers and orators weather light or shadow have integrated body mind and heart as they express their soul authenically thru throat. 🌅🌎🌹✝️🙏
His mom left him in an orphanage when he was six and when he became famous he looked for her and they were able to spend three years together before she died. He was very poor and he stayed humble and all that emotion he puts into everyone of his songs is from the path he took to get to be the most famous singer Mexico ever had. There will never be another voice quite like his.
My mother transitioned 🕊️in 2011 and I cannot listen to this song without tearing up. Because Juan Gabriel describes the feelings, emotions and struggles that mourning your loved one feels like. The sadness, loss of sleep and teary eyes. I am glad some of the English speaking community are reacting to his songs and giving Juan Gabriel a little bit of the credit he always deserved, even if it’s after his death. It will help immortalize his gift to the world.
OMG!! I haven't heard Juan Gabriel for such a long time! I discovered his music in the late 80s when I was in Oaxaca, Mexico for a few months meeting the family of a guywith whom I was deeply in love! We were too young!! I did become pretty fluent! Anyway...l learned a lot of Spanish by watching cartoons with the little brother and listening to Juan Gabriel and other amazing Mexican singers. BTW, not all Rs are rolled (especially when I say them. 😂) The title is "Eternal Love" ❤ Más amor a tu y tu familia! ❤
Juan Gabriel is forever GOATed. I can’t believe you’re half Mexican and have no clue who this man is. A true ICON of music. His voice and songs transcend generations and are enjoyed by people of all ages to this day. We are very lucky to have been alive at the same time as this man. Thank you for featuring this treasure on your channel.
