Her mama had breast cancer and she (LP) had a bilateral mastectomy as she also had the gene. Her mama was an opera singer. This song got me through chemo! The vocal range, and mic control is on another level!
She's name is Laura Pergolizzi. She has written songs for artists such as Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Rita Ora, Backstreet Boys, Cher, Joe Walsh, Cher Lloyd, Ella Henderson, The Veronicas and others.
She has the confidence and swag of Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, Robert Plant, you name it! And she attracts the ladies as well with all that Rockstar swag. I honestly believe she is so confident in herself she could care less what anyone thinks she is. She accepted who she is a long time ago, and it has to be annoying waiting for others to catch up. Full disclosure, I was introduced to this tasty jam 6 or so years ago. That whole time I thought she was a dude until I saw the charismatic voice do a reaction😂 Elizabeth kept saying she and I was like oh damn. This whole time? 😂🤦♂️
LP identifies as a lesbian, and said in a 2016 interview: "It's not important to prove myself as a lesbian. But nevertheless visibility is important. We are normal people just like anybody else."[33][34] LP wrote the song "Lost on You" after a breakup with actress Tamzin Brown, and LP was then in a relationship with American singer-songwriter Lauren Ruth Ward, who appears in the music video. LP also dated Mexican actress Julieta Grajales: their relationship ended in 2022.[35][36] LP identifies as gender-neutral, stating in an 2018 interview: "I go by 'she' and 'her', but I honestly don't love it. But it would take me out of my life too much to insist on 'they'. But I respect people doing it." LP also stated they are "equally comfortable" being considered a "garden variety lesbian woman."[37]
Just want to make sure we are clear that sexual orientation and gender identity are not the same thing. LP is non binary/gender fluid and their sexual orientation is lesbian. LP uses she/they pronouns. Hope that helps! ❤
LP collabed with The Hu on a song called Mother Nature. It's a banger; y'all should really check it out. Also, The Hu is something special if you haven't heard them. Mongolian folk metal throat singers.
My mum always said “you can’t tell a sausage by its skin” artists are wonderfully diverse. Important not to judge by appearance, judge what they do. Good reaction ❤
LP is my greatest discovery of the century on youtube. It suddenly popped up on a recommendation and I listened and instantly fell in love with her voice. somehow I immediately knew she was a woman from her looks alone. but who cares right, I love the song and the lyrics. it's like finding the vocal tone I've been looking for. I live in Indonesia and if there was no youtube I don't think I would have found her music. love love her and her music.
LP is a rabbit hole of music that will have you becoming the biggest the biggest fan of her artistry! There are sooooo many great songs in her catalogue and I hope you dive a little deeper with LP... you wont regret it!!! I'd start with her live performance of Muddy Waters from this same session. Cheers from Canada! ☺🍁
At that same venue you need to hear her sing "Muddy Waters", she is just stunning. Her voice is so unique gives me chills. Also official music video for "When we're high" that one is entertaining. Her newest stuff is really outstanding also. She is very popular in Europe, more so then here in the states.
Your reaction to this video is very interesting. LP is phenomenal! I love everything about them. And, I can't wait to watch more of your reactions to them. If you haven't yet, you should react to Mitch of Pentatonix. He has a phenomenal vocal range.
LP is an American singer-songwriter and musician from New York. Official pronouns they/them. LP wrot songs for the biggest artists, their writing is very poetic. They're huge everywhere but for some reason they're less famous in the US. And indeed, their voice is very unique and distinctive and their vocal range is insane, they're magical live! LP is classically trained and their mother was an opera singer. I hope you do more LP reactions, whatever you choose will be awesome, you won't be disappointed.
Welcome 2 tha party 🥳 I 1st heard this angel in 2017 and haven't looked back since! She pulled me through depression 🙌🙌🔥👌 not a day goes by I don't thank LP 🙏
OMG! I feel like I must have lived under a rock having never heard that song before. Her incredible voice will be in my head for hours. Definitely going to be looking for more. Thanks BP.
As others have said: they/them pronouns. LP's singing is absolutely exquisite and one of the most talented songwriters out there right now. Thanks for stepping outside your comfort zone and being open to different genres. This song is absolute 🔥🔥🔥
Bro, Ive been waiting for this . BP reacting to LP !!!!! You know me always being around. I get tears with this song as it reminds me of what me Ex wife didnt understand is how much of my life i lost while being married. As though she was the only one who gave up dreams to raise children and then leave. BP please, please please do Lp's cover of "HALO" immediatley. Her voice is insane and haunting. Muuch Love as always from Los Angeles .
LP has been my favourite singer for the last 6 years. Outstanding!! Missed out on seen her in concert here in Sydney Australia twice because of the pandemic; it was cancelled 😥
I was fortunate to see LP live twice, some of the best live performances ive ever seen, such a talent! as for your confusion - it's understandable lol; Laura is a female, dates women and since 2021 goes by they\them pronouns
Like someone else mentioned, you need to hear The Hu, a Mongolian rock band. The best to start with since you're doing LP, is Mother Nature ft. LP. It is a GORGEOUS song!
Weird, I found this track whilst working at Starbucks and it had made its way on one of the playlists and loved it first time round. Also love the Hu, randomly came up recommended on YT as I listen to metal but had been looking up Mongolian throat singing after watching Marco Polo. Never thought there two would be linked, it's a crazy world lol.
The 1st time I saw LP was a TikTok. I was unsure if the singer was male/female. I researched and yes, LP is Laura. Since that video I 1st saw, I'm a huge fan and was upfront on her Nov 12 show in Atlanta. I absolutely love all her music. Historically, she's written songs for Rhianna, Cher, and others. Just Google her.
Oh my GOD?!!! They SMACK@!!! this is the best version of the song. I REALLLLLY wish you'd do an Alt-j song. You'd LOVE Deadcrush. My favorite band next to Ren- Nothing like lp, but PLEASE do that next? Id love to see you hear them. btw, lp are their initials ❤❤❤ PS- lp has written songs for Taylor Swift and a WHOLE bunch of other really famous artists before they started their own real solo career.
As singular they, just wanted to say thank you and much love for using their pronouns! ❤ And Ren is my favourite, too! (I was apparently in his top 0.5% of listeners last year, according to my Spotify wrapped 😆)
This song literally is my youth, I was 18/19 when this song came out. Now 27. It took me back to my college years. I was obsessed with this song then I listened her couple other songs loved them as well. I used to replay her songs for hours, weeks even.. Then I stopped listening to western music after I discovered n fell in love with Kpop.
LP, their birth name Laura Pergolizzi, is an American singer, musician and songwriter. LP has released seven albums and three EPs. LP has written songs for other artists including Cher, Rihanna, the Backstreet Boys, Leona Lewis, Mylène Farmer, Céline Dion and Christina Aguilera. Lp was dropped by some major labels until given a cance by a smaller label (Greek I think). This is my fav song of theirs.
I believe LP (Laura Pergolizzi) trained in opera. She has written songs for so many including Cher, Rihanna, Céline Dion and Christina Aguilera! Very talented writer and singer. Peace.
Also keep in mind this is her live version. If you can find her live songs watch those. Theybare one of those artists where the live is ALWAYS WAY BETTER.
She sounds amazing! I was first introduced to this song from Scott Hoying (from Pentatonix) and Mario Jose covering this as a mashup with a Hans Zimmer soundtrack!! You should definitely check it out!
Yes, always happy to see people reacting to her! Btw, would also love see a reaction to REN - Losing it (fisher rap version) if you haven't already! :D
@BlackPegasusRaps Go on her show, incredible music... and she is just sharing love, happinness, piece... It was in Prague 1,5 month back... I was full of it for a week... and she now has girlfriend from our country, from Prague... Miss 2019... watch the Prague live video... she was crying in the end... watch some interview with her... I really respect her
LP was discovered and signed to a major label pretty young. The label had a hard time with pinning her down to some sort of mainstream niche and so she never put out an album. She did write a lot of music for a lot of other famous artists though. Some of the big names shes written for are Backstreet Boys, Rihanna, and Christina Aguilera. She has so many amazing songs of her own though. You should definitely check out Tightrope, The One That You Love, and her cover of Halo by Beyonce.
Need to lend my voice to the others and strongly urge you to check out her Collaboration with The Hu on the song mother nature... you will be blown away!
It's the female Bob Dylan. Nothing else matters. But I do find it funny when people don't realize that intersex is 1 in 100 and completely natural in nature too. Some cases suggest more but they're 'fixed' at birth to conform to standards. I'm old as dirt and have known this for half a century working in health until retirement. I find it funny the recent generations are just now noticing. Completely different topic from what someone 'feels' they are though.
I hope you don't get me wrong, but in my country the average music connoisseur knows about LP. Bosnia here 😀 Hey, you could listen to our great musician Božo Vrećo. I hope you won't get confused... he is a gentleman but also a lady... but, no joke - he/she has a wonderful voice and is considered a great musician.
