he really did have his car radio stolen in college which is what inspired this song - but the point of the song is what the car radio represents - once that car radio is gone he has to deal with his inner thoughts instead of having the music to distract him - so the car radio is really a metaphor for whatever we use in our lives to distract us (working out, movies, reading, etc) - if someone took away those distractions, could we handle our thoughts and what's really going on in our minds in the video, the part at the beginning is very sad and you are up close and personal with Tyler - once he puts on his mask and goes to face everyone, you can see he becomes a different person and you forget what the song is actually about once the beat hits (our distraction) - then if you notice at the end, his hair is back and he takes off the mask and he's back to that same nervous person from the beginning - deep down he will always be that person like you said, this is probably not a song you're going to just bump in the car - it's made more to make people think and dive into the lyrics i'd recommend these songs early in your journey: Migraine Ode to Sleep Holding On To You
I listen to a lot of TOP reactions and yours is among my favorite. Especially the way you understand rap structure and break it down for us. TOP has one song that is all rap called Levitate. I'm excited for you to go on the TOP journey but in particular I really want to watch your take on Levitate.
Levitate is among my favorites, BUT you have to wait a few albums down the road to get there. I mean it’s in the middle of the Lore. It’s great a you will enjoy it, but the video will make no sense with out the Blurryface and some tracks from Trench in your pocket first.
I just watched your reaction to Twenty one pilots Car Radio. I descibe this as spoken word poetry with EDM. It is a fan favorite for sure as it really, it resonates with people. It makes you think, and gets stuck in your head.
This song takes u on a true emotional rollercoaster and it’s incredible!!! Twenty One Pilots r easily my favorite artist/band/group and they r hands down the best live performance u will ever see!!!!
Love seeing more twenty one pilots..yes, Tyler can rap really well. Sometimes he gets really fast like in HeavyDirtySoul.. I think you would love lane boy too
This is the song and video that hooked me. The footage of the concert is real and was not planned with the crowd. They nailed it. Can you imagine the energy in that place when they did that? Amazing band!
Thank you for your honest reaction. You should check out "fairly local", "ode to sleep" and "heavy dirty soul". The song "Levitate" is all rap with a dope beat, but you should wait as it is the last of a triology the have. Thanks again, stay good and healthy! Love from Norway
layers, dude, lots and lots of layers. liking your take on these, def worthwhile to take a TOP journey. this song has become one of my favorites and gives me chills every time. it'll grow on you as you get into TOP and dive into the lyrics. they are their own lane. Ty's big on juxtaposing lyrics, visuals, and sounds. and there's always more layers... 💛💙💛
enjoyed your reaction, hope you continue checking out their music. Their song Migraine has some clever wordplay and Ode to Sleep is gives a short intro to the band. they really have amazing energy live, would have been cool to be at this show. I love how tyler uses his songs to encourage people to think and not try to avoid your thoughts and problems but confront and fight against them and question the things other people and even your own brain tells you.
I really appreciate your reactions. This song's definitely not for everyone, but it hit me like a ton of bricks the first time I heard it. That line, "I could pull the steering wheel," has haunted me for years. I'm sure you've picked up on this by now, but this song's really just about being alone with dangerous thoughts. "Holding On To You" is my favorite by these guys. That's the song that won me over. I'd love to see you react to it!
Acquired taste is a good way to describe this song. I didn’t really care for it the first few listens, over time I’ve come to appreciate it more. Looking forward to you doing more reactions to them, have subscribed. Maybe Ode to Sleep next?
Personally,I feel the metaphor of the video is, that not having a car radio has then opened his eyes and ears to the craziness going on is his head. so now he just wishes he had his car radio back to drowned out his thoughts on reality and how it is for him .
TOP is the very best! I recommend doubt, addict with a pen (I relate so hard and cry everytime), neon gravestones, migraine, trees is my absolute favorite 😍
“Levitate” is definitely one I’d recommend for rapping, but I’d also really like for you to review “My Blood”. It’s probably my favourite, powerful video.
The car radio was his distraction from his inner thoughts. Because it was stolen he was forced to listen to his own thoughts and face his demons instead of distracting himself
Keep going down this lane. All with amazing lyrics and flow. You will not be disappointed. Check out ode to sleep, Migraine, holding onto you, guns for hands. Blurryface album is great with heavy dirty soul. Trench album is a masterpiece with levitate, nico and the niners. You will find many songs I think you'll love. Keep it going.
My take on the song is that he was suffering from depression and anxiety (for what is known about Tyler's past) and without the car radio he was thinking about pulling the steering wheel (aka ending the ride). So one might think that he would like to kill himself to escape the silence and his anxiety inducing thoughts, because he is suffering so much. That's why it's the climax of the song. The melody and the song is energetic and towards the end even happy, but the scream is his pain of being alive with that mindset he cannot escape. (no distraction without the car radio)
The moment when he walks out and the crowd freezes and on cue everyone just loses it Anyone who's ever had a performance career or even a dream of it if that moment doesn't spark joy in your soul this ain't the profession for you Loved your reaction and Tyler is a legitimate MC if you go digging down the RU-vid hole he's been brought out by ASAP Rocky a couple times the kid can spit
Ay bro. Ik you love rap and you said that Tyler the lead singer of twenty one pilots can rap a bit. If you wanna hear a song where he raps a lot check out (heavy dirty soul)
Hey bro thanks for the reaction !!! Can you react to this Spanish awesome rock band? I hope you enjoy it alot !!!! Robe - La canción más triste (Directo teatro Romano de Mérida) Thanks very much !!!
Take away cell phones today. Federally banned like Juul was. People 2ould have to deal with real life thoughts instead of watching reaction channels! ✌️
what you missed? the meaning & symbolism, completely. probably why you prefer it with your own personal taste. they way i see it, you didn't not prefer it, you missed the whole point & overall message of it...tht is just to say, you just didn't "get it". read ya comments & give it another go (off camera, preferably, so you can truly focus). I guarentee it'll resonate the next time & you'll LOVE it. BET.
