I have people on here saying I leaned too towards Trump and then I have people saying I leaned too towards Biden 🤣🤦♂️ Bro it’s a fake rap battle. Everyone just shutup watch this and enjoy life ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ign_vZupjno.html
The “stand behind the gym, I’ll be standing by” line is in reference to an interview Biden had where he said “if I was in high school with him i would take him behind the gym” saying he would beat trump up
That bar is so layered. Because of Biden's gym comment, Trump being the 45th president, 45 caliber, but also as a bit of reach but 45lb plates are the most used plate in a gym. Even if its just minor association the number 45 worked so well with that and then carried really well into the whole "blow a hole through your whole party" bar being he is still making gun gestures in the background.
Biden also said the same to a guy at one of his rallies after he said something to the akin of "I like a lot of what you're saying so I'm split between you and Warren"
@Drew Harris Hey man, pretty sure Knox said to keep it civil, jumping into a random comment and just stirring the pot is just instigating trouble. Want to argue over how bad Biden or Trump are, I suggest CNN or Fox news. You'll find plenty of people who are eager to waste their life arguing with you there.
It’s super true to form, but it always slightly bothered me because iirc, Steve Jobs was the only battle to have it at the time. It felt like it ruined his special intro
Minor correction on the Teflon part. Bulletproof vests are made out of Kevlar, not Teflon. Teflon is a non-stick surface used on pans. So it was more a reference to "Nothing sticks to me" than "I'm bulletproof."
I am a year late but Teflon is in fact used for some vests. Its generic name is PTFE flouropolymer and is used in munitions, wire and equipment coating at NASA as well as non stick cookware
That is how John Gotti got the nickname, nothing sticks to him like a good pan. You also have a good point, Teflon is not bulletproof, Knox. That’s been debunked so many times, by so many people. I think you confused Teflon with Kevlar, Knox, which is understandable, but it cost you a good bar. Nothing sticks to the Donald either, not even election fraud. Also, in the same spot, you didn’t notice that Trump interrupted the announcer at the beginning, just like he interrupted the moderator of that debate. Also, “DJT,” like DJ Trump, and his initials. You know ERB loves their “DJ” and “MC” puns.
"YOU LITERALLY DECIDE" caught me off guard. Knox is so intuitive, i love you man. You drop knowledge on me every single day damn near. Please keep hitting us with these life lessons. You keep it neutral as well. you are freaking great brother.
@@andrewmarino4309 It's fantastic with it's psych lines and even it's lines about Catholic theology is really funny. Of course, I say that St. Mother Teresa owned Sigmund but that's just me
At 20:05, that actually isn't a double negative for positive meaning. It's for emphasis by stating the objection twice: "I don't want to defund no police." It's the same as the phrase by the Rolling Stones: "I can't get no satisfaction." You can tell by context that they don't mean they are getting satisfaction, they're just using double negative to emphasis how little satisfaction they're getting. Same with Joe about the defunding the police. I think the farthest Joe got was that limits on police procedures should be looked at. But in terms of the rap battle, he starts with the lines 'All lies matter'. And then he literally starts listing all the lies Trump has told about him. Thus meaning that everything he says in the list is already a rebuttal.
The key difference between the American "no" for emphasis and a double negative is what is being negated, for the emphasis use you always negate the object of the sentence, never the verb. It's the difference between saying "I haven't not seen anyone" (double negative, negating the verb twice) or "I haven't seen nobody" (double negative but one of the negatives is on the verb, the second on the object, just adding emphasis that nobody has been seen). Of course, the less convoluted way to say either sentence would be "I haven't seen anyone" but as you said, the "haven't seen nobody" sentence carries much more impact and emphasis. Kinda shocking to see an American not understanding that type of sentence since they're the ones who use it in the first place xD
As a political/history junkie, I sure do appreciate seeing others give deep analysis of the multiple layers of bars/references. It’s refreshing to not feel as though I’m the only one who pays attention to this stuff (not the bars specifically, but the events that inspire them). Keep up the great work 🙏🏻
Honestly Knox, stellar job here. You easily broke down both artists and did not show favoritism towards one or the other. At times I had to stop and remind myself that you did bring up something “good” about Trump or that you brought something “good” about Biden. Love the breakdowns, love the hustle, love the channel keep it up!
nah, he didnt its obvious that he had a political bias to the right for this video its hard to not have a political bias nowadays but on this erb knox was down on trump like when trump goes down on putin
@@zorohibiki Are you nuts? Did you even watch the video? He was pretty even. He trashed Joe Biden during Trump's bars, and He trashed Trump with Biden's bars, especially Biden's second verse. I could even see the argument that he leaned a little too far into Biden's bars. Besides, who cares if he was partisan with this battle. It's a fake rap battle.
@@richardsinclair7661 I agree with zorohibiki, it was slight, but everytime Biden hit a good vers Knox would give props, but roll it back by saying well there's two sides to every story. While constantly hanging on Trumps lines about Hunter, and Ukraine dealings when absolutely nothing was proven nor came of said scandal. As well as him not acknowledgeing that Trump did cheat, instead bringing in his own ideal about how Biden was just an average law student who got into a plagiarism scandal like 30 years ago basically explaining away a hard bar. Then there's the whole him sarcastically mocking how the Kremlin helped Trump into office, and insisting that because trump wasn't removed from office he wasn't impeached. Trump was impeached twice by the house, but was voted not to be removed by the senate. Think of impeachment like a criminal charge and being removed from office as capital punishment for said charge. He wasn't removed, but was impeached, and do to Knox' bragging about his political knowledge in the beginning he definitely understands the difference. I'm not ragging on him or giving him shit for being bias, but i am saying political bias was there as it always is.
@@joeperez8979 I think that you stayed at the best. There was bias, though I do believe it's slight, but it did not stop him from giving a excellent breakdown of the evidence. There were a few things that he did miss but I do believe that is just human error. And you are correct it is extremely difficult not to have political bias in today's society especially with the video as…. Political as this one. Though I do get the joke that is the 1st poster made made about "going down on Putin" I don't think that is an accurate statements. Ultimately I do think it was a good analysis. I do have some issues with trump's 1st verse where it seemed like every other line was just a self burn on himself but that was ERb's choice
Knox is the type of dude who i just cant get over how much he picks up. Intellectual to a T. I am just convinced that he researches both topics for at least 100 hours before each video.
Kevlar is not bullet proof. Kevlar is bullet resistance, and only against specific calibers, and only for a few rounds. And even then, just because your vest or plat successfully catches a round for you, doesn't make you fine. Kinetic energy still has to be transferred. You can die without the round ever penetrating.
Teflon Don as in nothing they throw at him sticks. Also Teflon is SO much more than that. It is the most chemically stable material in science. They use Teflon to hold the strongest acids because it's the only material that won't either catch fire or turn to goo.
Won't bother me I don't like the Democrats nor the Republicans. There are always more than two options but none are talked about and local politics are as important as Federal. As for military endorsements Trump hired a lot of Generals to his cabinet or to important positions, yes. All of them were fired or quit because they questioned or disagreed with Trump.
@@jayesh117 Yeah honestly dirty scummy behavior in politics seems like it just comes with the territory of being human and it'll get as bad as its allowed to get.
Local and state elections are far more important than federal ones, local and state laws/ordinances/mandates affect your everyday life more than federal ones.
@@TheKrusherGames That's the joke! I was mocking the legacy medias reaction to Biden's, well everything. From his family and dirty business dealings, to his "election" and his entire term in office. Its always the same reaction. NOTHING TO SEE HERE! 🙄
It'd be a hard rebuttle for Trump to make considering the amount of times he failed getting into Air Force One himself. Also given that happened after the rap was made, wouldn't have made sense at the time
Seems to be a problem for Politicians all around haha, Mike Pence, Trump, Biden they all falling 🤦🏻♂️ Maybe the US needs some fresh blood in stead of these old farts
I mean, it seemed pretty obvious what happened. He said something that either RU-vid or him felt needed to be censored, so rather than a bleep, he just layered/cut stuttering audio over it.
I'll never understand trump supporters who live by the constitution yet back a man who wants to dismantle it. They shout lions not sheep yet follow trump no matter what. I'd like to try and understand people's thinking but i don't think it's possible.
@@christaker8953 "The liberals that think Biden got record votes" No, it's just that they can actually read and see that he got more popular and electoral votes lol.
You missed Teflon don line it's a reference to Teflon which used in non stick pans, and a don is head of a mob and it's his name. So he's saying no crime he accused of will stick.
This was a great reaction, there were so many references I didn't know and you explained it in a really balanced way. That insight about the misdirect on Breonna Taylor was like a lightbulb moment for me, I was trying to figure out why that response to Trump's line felt so odd to me.
@@sirapple589 Yeah but I don't think it made up for the diversity of disses that St. Mother Teresa had; Frued had three disses religion bad, your hospitals bad, and you take money. The last two are largely fabrications or mischaracterizations by Hitchens. She ran traditional hospices rather than modern hospitals and there is no actual hard evidence of donation fraud, but it is really popular on the internet to accuse her of
Thanks for doing this one, as a non-American some of the references went over my head, so was interesting to hear all the details and reasons for the phrasing. Hope you keep going for a long while - enjoy your work! Related to this particular battle, Paint also does a rap battle for Donald Trump and Joe Biden (full title: 'POLITICLASH: Donald Trump and Joe Biden'). Highly recommend, lots of clever lines and lyricism (to a layperson, at least), and some killer beats :)
While I think Trump's disses cut deep, his best ones were aimed at Biden's family where as Biden's were aimed at Trump's character. For me, Biden takes this one; not decisively, but I think Biden had the better bars.
@@LukaBlight69 how about you name one that is and tell you why it's not. just because saying all of them seems kind of disingenuous even though it's probably almost correct. I'm sure there's a few minor bars thar are true, but every single major punch was misleading at best.
@@LukaBlight69 if you are actually interested I will go bar by bar and point out what is wrong and why. it's just not gonna be tonight. I will legit come back tomorrow if you'll actually read it. I'm just not gonna go through all the effort if youre not gonna actually read it in good faith. that seems pretty reasonable to me.
I love how your cold war reference and prediction (at around 8:50 in) between China and the US in terms of soft power actually has become reality in the current day. Whilst I am not fond of the situation per-se, I do like seeing you bring out your affinity on many different subjects (in this case politics). This is not just true for this ERB, but seeing you knowing your stuff makes me proud to be a nerd. Keep on doing what you're doing!
I think the "mailbox" line is a reference to Louis DeJoy, Postmaster General under the former administration, ordering mailboxes removed, post office branches shut down, etc. It was alleged that this was to break yet another public good/service in favor of private industry (ironically the private package delivery services use the USPS for the final leg of the less accessible routes).
I live in Portland. Honestly, it was pretty tame. It's absurd people think it was basically like a civil war here. We had like 2,000 people that came and stood in a single intersection every night from 8PM to 11PM, and then the police gassed them. It would be like one building in Manhattan having a structural defect and then the media telling the rest of the country that the entire city was about to crumble to the ground.
And yet if right leaning people did this, you would call it an insurrection. We know because ya'll literally called it that when they supposedly marched on the capital and protested what they saw as a fraudulent election. They didn't burn the white house down, they didn't loot from all the local stores, they didn't destroy communities, they just marched and protested trying to get their voice heard. Meanwhile antifa takes over a few city blocks, people die in there, and they refuse to allow police or emergency services in to help and ya'll say that's all good.
The only thing that confuses me is that Knox kept saying "we have to look at both sides" during Biden's verses, but literally never did it once on Trump's.
Deilfinitely think that could be a hint of him showing his colors a bit there. I'd peg him as a centrist republican based off this video as my only window into his views (which could be wrong of course, I dont know Knox), but overall he was good at being fair to both sides in this video. But yeah, I felt a little off from him disecting and discrediting some of Biden's points during his verses and not the other way around too.
@@joshuafetter3831 It's honestly ridiculous to be "fair" in this situation considering most of Trump's verses were lies and misdirection, while Biden's were just mostly facts (ERB was just faithfully portraying their styles, this is no knock against them). Knox literally ignored some of the strongest points made against Trump too, while "bothsides"ing Biden only. It seemed biased, but in a more subtle way from what MAGA zombies would do.
I’m late to this reaction, but I haven’t seen anyone comment that Melania met Donald via Jeffrey. Also that Beau & Hunter we’re in the accident and we’re both severely injured in the accident. Also the side reference that Beau’s cancer was possibly caused by burn pits (a triple or even quadruple entendre) of the burn line.
I love that you said “vote 3rd party”, it’s not a throw away vote, it’s and investment into a future where 3rd party votes can win major elections in our country.
Yea the nothing happened outta tat is the thing ya need to hit home NOTHING HAPPENED cos Kim un played trump rubbed trumps ego and continued firing and testing missiles but cos he was trumps letter buddy trump administration did nothing.
What transpired is that Kim Young Un became a major player, getting state visits with China, Russia and expanded their arsenal of nuclear weapons under Trumps nose while he was praising him as his bestes pen pal 🤦🏻♂️
One missed line - him walking out of DC looking “peachy” - referring to his skin bronzer that makes him look somewhere between a peach and an orange, depending on which day and makeup artist it is. But yeah this was IMO one of the best ERBs - ever.
really? this is honestly the worst presidential one they did and its not even in the same ballpark as the others. Obama v. Romney 100x better. trump vs. Hillary was 1000x better. they couldn't even be bothered to do the Lincoln/eagle cameo that has been in literally every other election rap battle they've done
@@elrojogrande744 Well, that's mainly because Peter could appear as Lincoln but he couldn't really slap himself or in this case, Biden. When you've watched videos where they played multiple characters (Rasputin VS Stalin is an example), they don't make contact with each other. Also, it's easier to do the shoulder camera perspective since there were three different people (Obama Vs Romney & Trump Vs Hillary).
@@elrojogrande744 Well, I wouldn't say their bias is OBVIOUSLY clear like Trump Vs Hillary but at least the beat and the rap here were decent. I mean, the beat from Trump Vs Hillary is a remixed version of Washington Vs Wallace so that's pretty neat, I guess. That's entirely your point and opinion, which I respect. I think it's pretty decent. The previous candidate ERB are definitely better though.
@@scottjameson5358 there bias wasn't so much towards one character or the other, but you can definitely tell they didn't want to go deep into biden. they full adopted the lefts narrative towards trump however. I think they tried to keep it neutral by not going deep on either candidate, to be fair, but biden was absolutely allowed to go deeper than trump. if you really pay attention and are informed it's pretty obvious. that's what made it bad imho. they let both Hillary, trump, Obama, and Romney go full savage in the previous ones but wouldn't here. it's pretty clear it's because they didn't want to damage biden. yeah, the beat is obviously subjective and is a minor nit pick overall. if they had gone hard on a bad beat I wouldn't have had a problem with it tbh. we agree on the most important part though. the past ones were way better. I can respect that.
Nah, I defended Trump because we all know there’s so much Trump hate in the news and media, especially when my international fans watch this. I enjoy arguing and giving alternate perspectives. Did I vote Trump? No. So go think on that. Loved a lot of Bidens bars and didn’t give an alternative perspective on many of his jabs - that ramp line was classic. Sorry my reaction didn’t fit into your expectations Ninterd
@@KnoxHill I didn't mean to sound harsh, and I didn't mean you voted Trump either, sorry for the baseless assumptions! It was a fun video and your analysis was great as usual!
To address the "vote 3rd party" suggestion- it doesnt work because of the spoiler effect. We need to look to ranked choice voting. The 3rd party draws votes away from a voters preferred candidate. Perot helped clinton win, and nader helped bush win. I do agree 2 parties doesnt work, but we need to reform HOW we vote, and support ranked choice voting, stv or have districts with multiple representatives. Cgp grey goes into more detail about this here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s7tWHJfhiyo.html
The Spoiler Effect isn't real. No candidate takes votes away from another, as third-party voters could write in a candidate, or vote for no one at all. The spoiler effect you speak of implies that they would have voted for the candidate they "took votes away from", when they probably wouldn't have. I don't see Ranked Choice voting as solving anything. As it is, people are still going to put their preferred candidate as number one. Unless you invalidate any ballot that doesn't have all candidates ranked, some people won't put additional ranks, because, to them, it doesn't matter. Would you have someone sit there for an hour and a half filling out a ballot? (While you normally don't see more than four - for President - on a ballot, there are hundreds to choose from.) For third-party candidates, they will still be number two at best in most people's rankings, so the likelihood of them scoring a plurality is very low. We need to get these private companies out of our elections. The DNC, the RNC, and the Commission on Presidential Debates are all private entities, and all of them control our elections (not to mention Dominion, but that's a conversation for another time). I'm not a fan of expanding the government, but, for all the cuts I'd make, this is one case where I would create a government agency to oversee elections, rather than putting it in private hands accountable to no one. (People argue that the government is accountable to no one, but since elections aren't affected by market forces, there's no way for ordinary people to hold them to account. The government can be petitioned or protested.)
@@MKDumas1981 Also hilarious that you have to make up issues with ranked choice. You dont have to rank everyone, and NO SHIT people would put their preferred candidate as #1. That the entire point! You wouldnt need to worry about how other people were voting so you could have voted for perot in 92 and not worried about wasting your vote. Because perot didnt crack 50% and had the least votes, his votes would go to their #2 choice.
@@ChrisAshtear You make a good point it would give people more freedom to vote 3rd party without feeling their vote is wasted because if the candidate doesn't get enough traction then it goes to their 2nd pick. It's more free then what we have now.
I think Donald's jab at Biden for "touching little girl's shoulders" is the weakest line honestly considering Trump's own habits surrounding women of all ages, in both speech and physical forms
for a different style of epic rap battle with Mr. Trump I recommend “Ebeneezer Scrooge vs Donald Trump” and also the unreleased battle on ERB2 “Hillary Clinton vs King Henry VII”, love the deep thinking Knox!
Donald Trump was essentially: “Too crazy and stupid to fuck with, cause you’ll never know what he’ll do” (This, at the very least, is how other countries saw him, speaking as a foreigner to the US)
@@baronhomer1 Racism: Noun "Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized." Donald Trump has, numerous times, fit that definition over and over. From anti-Semitism; to his accusation of the Central Park Five; to his whole-hearted support of the birther conspiracy; to blatant discrimination against black people at his casinos. There is evidence of his racist tendencies everywhere. You are evidently a fool and an idiot if you believe otherwise. Or perhaps just willfully blind.
As someone living and working in Portland, it was not actually as bad as the media portrayed it. I mean, we have a lot of problems in this city, but the actual riots and protests were heavily confined.
Also, commenting on this as I go, sorry, when you say that Trump says he's always supported our armies and his generals supported him (which, frankly, doesn't say much when said generals will support anyone willing to keep them at work... Hello, I am very anti-military and pro-diplomacy and positive foreign relations), a while ago it came out that Trump held a charity event for the VA and didn't hand over the money until well after people started asking where it all went. Trump was literally going to pocket money meant for ex-soldiers.
The only thing being held by his companies and him are two different things. While it might be name that's got put out there. I doubt he did any of the planning, that was more a failure by his org.
When people say our country sucks the mean it compared to other developed nations. We definitely have better standards than undeveloped countries depending on the city. However for a country that can be argued to be the richest in history of the planet a large portion of out middle and other class live much lower standards of living than other developed countries.
