THANOS I -"I am inevitable" is a reference to a line uutered byThanos throughout Avengers:Endgame; -"I crush tracks like Tesseracts in my palm" is something that Tahnos did during the Infinity War movie and is a feat which would require an enoumous amount of strenght implying that if he goes as hard on this track as he did with the Tesseract, Oppenheimer stands no chance; "[...] never learned to love his bomb". After the completion of the atomic bomb, it was evident that Oppenheimer was far from ecstatic. Actually, there is a video where he explains the repercussions of his creation and if you look at his eyes, you will see that he has lost his soul and has relinquished his humanity. If you haven't seen it yet I rexommend you watch it as the style used for Oppenheimer's voice and flow strongly resembles the one presebt in the saud video; -"hot periodically". I think it's a reference to the periodic table which is a tool mostly used by chemists as it's essential to their work; -"burned Avengers down to embers and sent half your planet to be slaughtered". At the end of Infinity War, the Avengers were destroyed by Thanos as they slowly became dust and half of Earth's population (i.e. Oppenheimer's planet) was also eliminated; -"like I did to my daughter". During Infinity War, in order to obtain the Soul Stone which was guarded by Red Skull, Thanos had to make a great sacrifice which was none other than to kill his adopted child Gamora; -"Dr Manhattan" is a reference to the Manhattan Project which was a research about nuclear weapons; -"best not collide with me[...]" is a reference to the Hadron collider which is the world's largest particle collider and the largest machine in the world; -"I think I'll call you Oppen-hymen" . No explanations needed. My second favorite line of the battle by the way; -"You should have gone for the head". The first layer of explanation is a way to say that he should have chosen to get a Blow**b instead of having full intercourse and the second layer would be a reference to a famous line said by Thanos at the end of Infinity War right before he snapped his fingers and after Thir failed to kill him; Oppenheimer I -"I am become deaf" is also one of my favorites as it's three things. First, he is saying that Thanos' lines were so bad it made him become deaf. Secondly, it's a wordplay on deaf/death which leads to the third point! In the video I was talking about before, towards the end Oppenheimer says: " I have become death, the destroyer of worlds." So good :); -"you need an iron man for that wrinkly ass skin". In Endgame, Thanos was ultimately defeated by Iron man the sane way one uses an iron in order to defeat one's clothes' wrinkles; -"where is your rythm? I thought you had the Time Stone". Even though Thanis has the Time Stone which would allow him to take control of time, he still doesn't seem to be able to find a good flow for his rap; -"Drax thinks you are invisible". Drax is a memeber of the Gaurdians of the Galaxy who thinks that if he moves extremely slowly or remains static for a certain amount of time, he will become invisible; -"cause I've got that fissile material". Fissile material is a material which can sustain a nuclear fission chain reaction thus making a link with the previous line; -" you were born to Eternals". Thanos is the son of a couple of Eternals whom are known as powerful beings across the universe; -"your own mother tried to make you a temporary". After Thanos' birth, his mother Sui-San tried to kill him on sight; -"I'm here to split U like 2 and 3 from 5". MY FAVORITE LINE. U is the letter used for Uranium and Uranium 235 is an isotope of Uranium. An isotope is a varaint of a chemical element that has a different number of neutrons thus chnaging the total number of nucleons. Nucleons are the summation of protons and neutrons. This is GENIUS; -"and it left you in the dust". At the end of Endgane, despite all his sacrifices and calculations, Thanos was ultimately defeated by the Avengers and slowly became dust flowing in the wind; -"there is no balance". Thanos is always preaching the concept of balance and equilibrium so Oppoenheimer uses that to his advantage here; THANOS II -" for a communist pariah you come off as awfully cocky". Oppenheimer was associated with the communist party and had somewhat strong political views about it. Considering that, he should not be cocky as communism is all about sharing and selflessness; -"in round two like Nagasaki". During the infamous nuclear attacks, two Japanese cities were attacked: Hiroshima was the first and then came Nagasaki . They respectively happened the 6th and 9th of August 1945. After Nagasaki,the 15th of August, Imperial Japanese's emperor, Hirohito, annouced their surrender and it was formally signed on the 2nd of September 1945 bringing an end to WWII; -"I am the box office topper". Avenegers: Endgame broke worldwide records at the box office after its release; -"like it's the Thanos Copter". There are two issues of marvel comics in whoch appear a yellow helicopter with the name THANOS displayed at its tail. It became a meme and gained notoriety after the release of the Infinity saga; -"I will Loki choke you out like my name was throat cancer". This is a great line too. The first way you can understand this is that it's a reference to how Thanos killed Loki by choking him with his bare hands. The second way is that he will "lowkey" choke Oppenheimer like the throat cancer which ultimately got the better of him; OPPENHEIMER II -"You wanna talk about death? How about the one that looked at you and swiped left" WOW. That must have hurt. He is talking about the fact that Thanos fell in Love with Death while she never gave him attention, just as a girl would swipe left on Tinder on someone whom she has no interest for; -"I am the destroyer of worlds" Again a reference to the video I keep talking about!; -"You gut your nuts ganded to you by a Squirrel Girl". In a marvel special, Thanos got defeated by Squirrel Girl and it was never really explained how she managed to complete such a feat; -"Tinky-Winky". Tinky-Winky is a teletubby. He is purple and is also the oldest and largest of the group. Both him and Thanos being purple is the link here. Also, as Tinky-Winky is supposed to be old we can assume he should have wrinkles just like Thanos!; -"I'll finish this like Ant-Man, all up in your stinky!". After Infinity War, there was a popular theory about one of the many possibilities seen by Dr. Strange being Ant-Man crawling up Thanos' bottom and then enlarging himself thus ending the battle in a quick and efficient manner; -"Oh snap". Finally, this is a reference to the snaps seen thorughout the Infinity saga abd would make tge most sense if it was like the very last one performed by Tony Stark aka Iron Man in ordrer to defeat Thanos!! All in all, I found this to be very enjoyable and if I had to choose, I would have to sude with Oppenheimer because if his lines, his flow and the visuals. Thanks for reading!! Also: "death like the one that looked at you and swiped left" is a reference to when Death, a female comic character leaves Thanos and falls in love with Deadpool.

The "U from 2 from 3 from 5" is a play on splitting Uranium-235 which used in nuclear bombs that he effectively created. Opoheimer absolutely murdered Thanos in this one. In the comics Thanos fell in love with Mistress Death and she wanted nothing to do with him. This was the most one-sided battle since Justin Bieber vs. Beethoven

That 40's/50's background spooky noise paired with the first line, and in the second line U235 being the Uranium isotope used in nukes... MMMMH, that was good! I'd say Oppenheimer wins this one. Mostly because writing for a pop culture figure like Thanos is fairly easy, but writing solid chemistry and nuclear physicist lines is a BITCH if you're not a professional chemist or nuclear physicist.

U235 is one of the radioactive Uranium isotopes in the bombs dropped on Hiroshima. When it is split, it splits into two smaller atoms, called fissile material. So, splitting “U like 2 and 3 from 5” is a double punch line for the obvious mathematical pun but also it’s quite literally describing dropping a lyrical and literal nuclear bomb because he gave the instructions on how the explosion occurs.

3:05 The code name for the USA when making the Atomic Bomb was "The Manhattan Project" and Oppenheimer was a lead physicist on that. 5:43 Uranium 235 was what was in the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima but it also plays well with the whole splitting 2 and 3 from 5 line. In addition to that, Nuclear Fission is what powers an atomic bomb to create so much damage so quickly, hence the part of the line referencing "splitting" 2 and 3 from 5. In case no one’s mentioned it yet, the reason Oppenheimer sounds the way he does in this is because it’s referencing the way he sounded in his recording after the atomic bombs were dropped. The look he gives at the beginning of his first verse is also imitating the blank, almost soulless stare he had in his eyes following the tragedy.
