I do wonder what it would've been like if Hop signed to strange. You have to realize that no big artist have ever been signed to strange. Yes, its because they're underground, but that's kind of the thing, tech STAYS underground, unless you want to be underground and make underground music, then Tech's label isn't for you. He won't be able to connect you with anyone BEYOND the underground. Tech is an OG though, he has that underground influence for sure, but it just depends where you want your career to go. Now adays being 'underground' can be tons of different things, and you can solo push yourself as an underground artist ALLOT easier these days. Underground like tech/hopsin and the strange label was kind of its own wave up until like 2014 when the shit died and soundcloud dominated. Now underground kind of has a different meaning and you can push yourself now. Labels aren't needed, especially when you're small. I don't think Hopsin would've been as big as he is today and in conversations if he was on strange. I think he'd of been in tech's shadow simply because he's signed to strange. These days hopsin is way better than tech though. Obviously tech is respected in his own right, but Hopsin is finally mentioned in the mainstream and getting his respect.

Tech wanted to but Hop wanted to stay independent. His closer friendships were destroyed because of FV and I think thats why he chose not to sign on Strange. Plus Hopsin has wanted to start UP for awhile and prefers to stay independent
