Hi Richard, Thank you for watching. I'm confident you won't be disappointed with this launch monitor. In my experience, when paired with RPT balls, it delivers exceptional accuracy, rivaling even those units that cost five or six times more.
Yeah, I fiddled with it for a while, trying to balance it on the grass near the practice green. Unfortunately, it crashes over after about 3 minutes. So I've given up and just lay it down now too.
I am using an HDMI to a lightning cable to my phone but when I plug it up to my phone should it immediately come up on the screen cause nothing happens.
It should be plug and play, but I think there have been several issues with the lightning adapters in IOS versions 16 and 17. You might take a look at this and see if it recommends anything you haven't tried already. itoolab.com/fix/hdmi-failure/
Yeah, you should be able to use the same setup with a net. You can even throw a bed sheet or canvas drop cloth in front of the net if you still want to use a projector.
RPT balls help you get more accurate spin numbers overall and provide side spin for shot shape movement. However, several updates since this video have improved the ball physics in the software. Now, the ball will stop or even back up regardless of the ball used.
lol. Yeah, in future I will try to get into the demo a little quicker. I think this one was a little delayed because of the tech gremlins in the beginning.
I haven't heard anything about that kind of change, but I just installed the most recent app update 2.4.4. It mentions that the Rapsodo courses have been updated to fix tree placement/layouts, improve gameplay stability, and provide a better overall experience. Loading back into Paynes Valley and everything still looks pretty flat. I do hope they can bring that kind of update in the future and give a more realistic experience.
Is your device Android or Apple? Are you trying to wirelessly cast directly to the projector or going through a device like Roku or Apple TV? Wired Connection Option For a reliable and straightforward setup, a wired connection using an HDMI cable is recommended. Connect a long HDMI cable from the projector to a wall-mounted HDMI port near your mobile device. Then, use an adapter and a short HDMI cable to connect your mobile device to the wall-mounted HDMI port when needed. For longer HDMI runs you might want to use a fiber HDMI cable though. I use two 32' Fiber HDMIs to run from my projector to ports on my office and then I just switch between the device I need at that end. These are the ones I used - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BBYS798/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Wireless Connection Option 1: Mobile Hotspot - Utilize the hotspot feature on a cell phone to establish a Wi-Fi connection between your mobile device and the projector. Option 2: Wi-Fi Router - Use an old or inexpensive Wi-Fi router without internet access to connect your mobile device and projector via Wi-Fi. Once connected, use Airplay for Apple devices or Cast for Android devices to mirror your device's screen onto the projector.
Good job. Question how fast can you get the simulator to calculate your shot and show the ball flight? I have seen some that are pretty instaneous with other brands but not at this price point.
It's unfortunate that Rapsodo Courses doesn't support landscape mode yet, especially since Rapsodo Range does. Hopefully a future update will include this feature.
Yeah, you can just hit away and it should auto align you pretty well. With the ball physics I would recommend aiming short of your target on the green though, since the ball seems to bounce forward 7-10 yards from where it lands.
Hi, thanks for watching. My current equipment is an Optoma gt1080 HDR with a Roku Ultra device connected by a long HDMI cable. I use an iPad 9th Gen to run the MLM2PRO app. All three devices (iPad, Roku, and MLM2PRO) are connected to the same home Wi-Fi network. This allows the iPad to maintain a connection to the MLM2PRO app while also AirPlaying to the Roku device, which displays on my projector. @@homelaunchgolfI just got this how far do you have it from the screen? Can you zoom in or out to make it fit the screen I can’t figure it out I got it used
I have mine mounted about 7'3" from the impact screen. My impact screen is 16x9 format and 13' wide 7.7' tall. The projector does have a digital zoom setting in the menu. Have you used the projector central calculator to estimate your mounting depth?
For as much as the premium membership costs (and that you need it to get even basic functions like peak height data and replays…smh), I’d expect a much better simulation than that.
Totally agree, the initial launch was pretty bare-bones! But things are looking up as we approach the first anniversary in a few months. Connection and device issues that plagued the early days have seen major improvements thanks to post-launch updates. The latest one not only gave the range a visual overhaul but also helped with course elevation and other graphic enhancements. Now with bugs hopefully worked out the future updates will bring better graphics and new features.
Hi, thanks for watching. Per Rapsodo I don't believe foam balls will work with the MLM2PRO. Rapsodo FAQ Page - "No, MLM2PRO™ will not capture data with foam/plastic balls. You will want to use a Range or Premium Golf Ball, and with MLM2PRO™ it is recommended that you use the included Callaway®RPT™ Chrome Soft X™ Balls to take advantage of all the metrics that can be captured (Spin and Spin Axis)."
The graphics could be better, but it makes sense for a mobile app. I'm excited that the developers are working on improvements, and the new range looks a lot better than what they launched with! Maybe some of the courses will look just as good someday.
Yeah, subscriptions are a terrible way to go, but unfortunately, I think that's the road we're headed down now with most of the new upcoming launch monitors.
