That has got to be the most complete rebuilding of an old mower I've ever seen. Nothing missed and the final results are amazing. Bravo sir, Bravo! You now have a "NEW" mower...
There is something so incredible about older machinery, simple honest to god engineering that you can actually fix & maintain yourself, stuff that was built to be reliable & to last. Top job as always.
Walk in to a farmers vehicle shop and you just see this cute small thing sitting in between two tractors, has a note saying " may appear small, but very powerful". 🤣😂
@@xxfyrezgamerxx6279 It is a riding lawn mower like any other riding lawn mower in the world. It is not a garden tractor. A farmer would not have this in his shop next to his tractors, although he may have a garden tractor there. This guy doesn't have a fuzzy clue what he is talking about.
I watched the entire video down here from Ethiopia 🇪🇹. Like the genuine builders of this machine 40 years ago, you did an absolutely wonderful job. I have also to say, I am astonished by your depth of knowldge and skill on such renovation. Looking forward to see you on the next video and I am now member of your youtube family. Congratulation pal!
Great work! This looks like a really well built garden tractor. The deck looks strong, as well as the snow plow. It cuts great and the rear discharge is really cool don't see that feature too often over here in the states even on the older models. I'm glad you were able to save this one and get it back up and running. I know how much work this to get a project like that done. I have restored several older garden tractors over here in the states. Then to film and edit everything is a lot of work. I'm glad you were able to do that and share your process.
@@seanc8054 I had one on an old Gilson tractor. It had an operational rear deck. Ended up selling it to a guy who needed it for parts. Hopefully he was able to take both of them and make one work. They aren't really practical as they leave rows of grass, but if you need to collect grass (growing hay) it would be great for that.
The rear discharge is common on the large mowing decks pulled behind tractors. Seen them used alot on large fields and along the highway. But yeah never seen them on a garden tractor
Well there is a big distinction (usually) between garden tractor and riding lawn mower, since you call it the former it should be no surprise that it is 'really well built', but being 40 years old helps, as things were built much more heavy duty back then and with lots of features. Now they are mass produced junk, more or less, and disposable
@@Hjerte_Verke Modern day riding mowers that can be purchased at box stores are very cheaply made. They are disposable. They will last maybe 5 to 10 years. This one is 40 years old, and after being restored it will be around for another 40+ easily.
Time for a break from working in my own shop to have a coffee and watch this awesome restoration. I've picked up more than a few tips and tools watching you work...
I've watched HUNDREDS of push mower, lawn tractor, skid steer and heavy equipment rebuilds. This by far exceeded 90% of them including auto body builds. Good on you mate. Thanks for the detailed restoration process every step of the way!
Great job Sir. No crappy music, just a bird now and then. Perfect. No talking which makes this very relaxing to watch. Great editing job to be able to make it look so easy and to leave out the swearing, throwing of wrenches and taking stuff apart you already put together but in the wrong order.
Great job my friend! That ol girl really does shine and I can only imagine the amount of time, energy and patience that you put into that build. I really do hope you consider doing another build like this in the future.
Thank you for making these videos. They're immensely satisfying and relaxing to watch, and they're genuinely helpful in helping me calm down whenever I'm stressed.
Came back to comment again after watching the whole video. You did an amazing job with this one my friend. The black grille looks a lot better than the old white one. Contrasts well with the orange and black with the rest of the tractor. You made it breathe new life again!
Quality workmanship, attention to detailed that is outstanding - plus lovely background of English birdsong, robins, blackbirds, wood pigeon etc. a really worth while watch and education. Thank you very much.
I knew a big restoration was coming up because of the time since your last upload and have been so eager for the video to drop. I felt like a little kid waiting for his favorite movie to hit theatre’s and you absolutely delivered with this restoration. Enjoyed every second of it.
OUTSTANDING EFFORT!!! :) If they gave Academy Awards for restoration videos you would win!!! Superior quality production values!!! And I love that you didn't clutter your video with mindless chatter or lousy music. Quality subtitles explained it all perfectly! Just the odd bit of whirring or birdsong :) Your technical skills are first rate. Bloody excellent! :)
This is probably the best one you've done so far. I love the coloring pattern on the vehicle. The designers definitely got the colors right for the vehicle because it just looks like a modern ride-on lawnmower, despite it being made in 1982. Keep up the good work! :D
My friend, you did an absolutely phenomenal job on this machine! The amount of time, effort and patience that it obviously took is incredible! I cant say it enough. EXCELLENT VIDEO! I cant wait to see more! Cheers my friend!
Some folks just do a revival…get it running video. I like your complete disassembly, repair and reassemble perspective…well done and informative. Blessings and thanks.
What an absolute treat! Your videos are so satisfying. More like this please! I could watch your content all day. Only complaint I have is no narration. you have such an excellent speaking voice. I would love to see a video similar to this with narration.
Fascinating restoration as usual, a joy to watch the transformation, and seriously impressed by how well it looked when finished and the job it did on that long grass. Thanks
Fantastic restoration!!💯👍👍 Really like the painting the grille black,it modernizes the look, and the new rear tires are a great upgrade... They turn the mower into a tractor!!😁🥇🥇🥇
Marvelous restoration, and it's not just a pretty face -- the cut quality is superb with the slasher plate, and the engine sounds remarkable. Very well done, thanks for taking the time to share it with us. I'm inspired.
Wow! An absolute master class! Brilliant video presentation -- logical, compact, informative, clear! Tools and materials I've never heard of -- a ball hone! Valve lapping! Fifty stars!
Man I'm 15yrs old, don't understand too much about restoring (though I want to learn how to) but this was very satisfying to watch loved the video and appreciate the hard work put into it. I can't say how happy I am to see it get to see it get supported as well as it has, great audience. Overall a great quality experience and restoration.👍to the creator/restorer, job fantastically done!
If you’re seriously interested you should find an old mower and just start working on it. There are tremendous resources out there on the internet that you can access. If you know someone who tinkers like this you can start asking them questions about your project and you will probably find someone who can be your mentor. I loved your comment!! Best of everything to you!!
Absolutely awesome attention to detail there... even down to putting together a full new wiring loom... with heatshrink! I loved this... thanks so much for creating it!
The whole video was spot on; I greatly appreciate all the effort that goes into the editing and "how-to" e.g. engine/tranny rebuilds, mower deck, wiring, etc simply to provide us with a video, but honestly from 1:27:00 to the end was terrific. You did such a great job preparing for the final assembly that it felt like I was seeing a new 2022 tractor being assembled for the first time. *Hats off to you* on the overall great job you did; start-to-finish.
Fantastic restoration! Thank you for taking such detailed videos and showing the entire process. I've never heard of that tractor before, but really like the paint scheme!
Excellent restoration, your attention to detail is commendable. I remember visiting the Westwood factory in the first year of my apprenticeship, maybe 30 years ago.
Incredible work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎉 it must have been very rewarding to finally get that mower all together to truly return it to it's former purpose. No greater feeling
Maybe the best restoration video I've ever seen. Enormous technical skill, excellent patience and attention to detail. And along the way, you created a first-rate video, top-notch in every production aspect. Thanks million for this outstanding video.
That was truly amazing to watch. Immensely satisfying! Thanks for sharing all aspects of the rebuild! You are truly a craftsman in every sense of the word! Looking forward to seeing your future projects.
I love seeing vehicles, equipment, and toys lovingly restored and saved, not destroyed. These are the types of videos that deserve the views, likes and subscriptions, not the ignorant videos of a kid destroying perfectly good things for the sole purpose of money. We need more videos like this. That’s a damn good looking little tractor too!
You are men with gold hands thanks God for guys like you to show this new generation how things can work again with hard work and nerves of steel great job hope to see more restorations from you God bless
Well I go in for old car / bike and vintage hi-fi restoration videos but I thoroughly enjoyed this and I watched for the whole two hours. Perfect and steady camera angles; not a jerky piece of footage anywhere. Smart editing with sped up segments where needed both help to move this story along at the correct pace. And the captions are to the point, unlike so many on RU-vid that insert stupid comments, smillies and a demand that we like & subscribe every three minutes; not this guy. Great stuff.
Your skills are amazing! It was fascinating watching you bring this dilapidated old machine back to life. I've enjoyed all of your videos, but this is my new favorite!
Absolutely amazing! I watch a lot of restoration channels and yours came up in my feed two days ago. Have watched a few of your videos and love them all. Have just been transfixed for nearly two hours on the best restoration I have ever seen. I can't begin to imagine the time this took to restore and edit the video. Thank you so much! 👍
I have been watching your videos for quite some time now and I can honestly say that they are some of the most in depth, informative and satisfying videos on RU-vid! Your attention to detail is phenomenal and the way you shoot/edit your videos makes it extremely easy for others to copy what you are doing if they have the same equipment in need of restoring or repair. Great stuff and thanks for keeping the excellent content coming!
@@MachineryRestorer To do a restoration like this you need a lot of skills to do all the jobs ... congratulations !! flawless work .... just perfect. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
I admire the patience & time you have devoted to this tractor ! Does he have a special place in your heart ? It's a pity that once restored you used it it was all clean
This is definitely one of your best resto’s to date. Well done, sir. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The video clarity, the presentation, and the “flow” (although it's really bad to amazing-lol) Thanks for sharing. Im looking forward to the next one. Top shelf for sure.
What a cool old machine. I was made to start mowing the 100 acres when I was seven years old. Steep and tall ditches, fields, yard, and pine forest with grass,….these machines take me back on a journey through life and time.
I thought I had seen the best restoration until I saw what you did here. This was amazing and your attention to detail is phenominal. This machine has 'blades' like I've never seen on a riding mower. They are somewhat like what is used on what is called a bush hog in the states. They certainly are effective and I've also never seen a deck that discharges out the back, but I like it. What an accomplishment mate. It's too pretty to use now.
Superb restoration. I've spent thousands of hours driving Westwoods from the 1980s onwards, and recently finished a running restoration of a S1200 (single cutter version) which is now my primary mower. Well built, very solid machines.
Awesome job dude! 👍 I’m always happy to see old machinery being brought back to life. In my opinion spiders on camera aren’t nearly as scary as they are in real life.
G’day and greetings from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺what you have done to restore it is a real credit to you, you didn’t leave any bit as it was. Regards John
also, just wanted to say this is an awesome video, just the work of restoring is difficult but your hard work in filming and editing show also, thanks a ton, it's much appreciated :)
It's really cool how original this thing was when you started. Someone has put hundreds of hours using it but probably took very good care of it for most of its life
Your video work was spot on…nice transitions from one ‘money’ shot to the next. You obviously spent a good deal of time planning your camera locations and editing. Your work is as good, if not better, than many of the larger lawn care channels. Best wishes on your way to monetizing! 😊
Congratulations on this Restauration! I’ve been sitting on the one cylinder version of this truck since I was six years old. 39 years ago. We had to replace the truck a decade or two ago, but I liked using it as a kid…
