I know it's a bit confusing, but keep in mind that Marcella Pobbe is only in the photos, the sound recording has Corelli, Antonietta Stella and Ettore Bastianini in the lead roles (1958, Naples) Subscribe to the channel Franco Corelli Info Center: ru-vid.com Find the group on Facebook too: facebook.com/groups/franco.corelli.info/ On Instagram: instagram.com/franco.corelli.info/

Yes, and the Inn, the ring ( The Scarlet Pimpernel 1934 -Leslie Howard, Merle Oberon, Raymond Massey ). The photo novel is wonderful, the cast is superb, and Corelli is amazing as Andrea Black Mask Chenier; the Prince of Tenors is also the King of " Fumetti ", wow! As an extra bonus we can listen to the 1958 performance of the opera with the glorious voices of Corelli, Stella, Bastianini. What a marvelous treat! My thanks to giovanni's mansion and all the people who made this possible. Eugenia Alverno

Thank you very much for the kind comment! I just want to add that I was very surprised by the amount of work and dedication that went into this photo-novel by all the creators, despite the fact that readers probably didn't spend more than five minutes on any one episode, and that this form of entertainment was very much "looked down upon" (as is often the case with entertainment aimed specifically at women). Even today, many Italian Corelli fans sneer when they first hear that Franco was involved in something like this, saying "Why did he have to degrade himself to do it? He couldn't have needed the money that badly!" But even if the story is a bit silly (yes, the target audience for this magazine was mainly teenage girls and bored housewives, judging by the ads alone - but also, isn't most operas incredibly silly if we just look at their stories?), the locations, costumes, camera work are amazingly elaborate, and even the photos have been edited one by one, with someone going over them and enhancing the contours, shadows, making them more "drawing-like", so this must have taken an incredible amount of man-hours alone! This is especially commendable when we see how the genre of photo-romance also declined in quality in the decades that followed, and the focus shifted from historical literature/themes to more and more contemporary, soap opera type stories, and they literally became just captioned photos. It really was a different era back than in the fifties and sixties... So I just appreciate this fotoromanzo so much, which for me also shows Corelli's respect towards his audience. It was often jokingly mentioned in the newspapers of the time that hordes of teenage girls were chasing after him like Elvis or the Beatles, yet he never looked down on his fans, and they were never a one-way source of validation in his eyes, and he always proved that something that is purposefully aesthetic and sentimental can still become very valuable through hard work and dedication. (sorry for choosing your comment to rant at length about this :D )
