I agree Louiejames626 let's see the weekly ESPN Top Rank Shows from 1980 thru 1986 when you could follow the progress of the "up and coming fighters" as they worked their way up the ladder to the major network fights on ABC, NBC, CBS and then HBO. The era when the sport of boxing gave us something to look forward to every week.
What a great boxer, he did 5 years in prison, lost his first professional fight and then went on to become one of the longest reigning middleweight champions, amazing story.
B-Hop really live the “Undisputed,” Fight Night, etc., prison movie storyline. One of the best technical boxers of his era. His fundamentals were so strong, that’s why his longevity was insane.
Smh.. couldn’t even beat bum @ss Taylor Lost his first fight to a nobody Hopkins was overrated. Tito & De La Hoya were smaller He got whooped by Pascal and made racist comments that Joe Calzaghe put to rest Last fight he was knocked out of the ring Bernard was a bum. And no young fighter would want their careers to mimic Hopkins He sucks man
Top Rank still has the deepest vault in boxing media history. we need to see more footage of legends who are still alive and contributing to the sport today. think of how much footage there is of Holmes, Hearns, even Breland!
Hopkins never amazed me back in the early 2000's ,i was more amazed on diego xhico corrales, panchito bojado and juan manuel marquez , but now i look back and notice how skillfull hopkins was and man this dude reminds me of master yoda .
This man is maybe my favorite fighters of all time… wealth of boxing information and skills and a perfect example of a Philadelphia fighter… I was charged for a homicide at 16 and he came to the center right before I got off quarantine…. I was mad I missed him…. I was supposed to start training with frank ward after the snow got off the ground…. And I caught a shooting…. Ain’t even gonna lie… a hero to me…
@@levius3517 being a dickhead were my exact charges I believe…. But it was a shooting…. But that wasn’t my focus… My focus was the impact Bernard had on my generation. And me specifically
Bhop legendary . Best knockout of Felix " Tito " Trinidad. Great matches he had . Such a throwback fighter. Yeh he got beat who does,nt ❤ boxing Gen X rule.😮
Looking at boxrec I think he must have being getting prepared for Keith Holmes or Carl Daniels. Both southpaw fighters that he faced in early 2000s. The gym music is from around that time
Definitely think this is around 2004 most likely the Robert Allen fight as the Grant sparring gear also lines up around that timeline when they switch to the newer logo with “Grant” written underneath it. The 2001 time line the Grant logo was a circle logo before they changed it around the time Roy Jones started promoting their gear.
Was in pub last night. And heard someone talking about the usyk fury rematch. You just dont hear mma fights being mentioned its no where near as big as boxing. And never will be. Thats why the moneys crap in comparison,. 90% of the fights end up on the floor grappling. Boring and mundane. And few more years non existent. All you hear on internet is people making exuses for it
My favorite fighter on fight night round 3 he just look like a villain dirty fighter though 😂💪🏿👌🏿🤌🏿💯 It’s something about the soothing background sounds of a Boxing 🥊 Gym That soothes the brain and lights that fighter in you 💪🏿💯🏆
Even though not one of my favorite fighters his dedication to the sport is at the highest level. I wonder how old he was when he incorporated his head into his combo's.
I'm atheist, I don't think it's from God but I think it's an amazing point of view and really opens my eyes to so many options. Thank you for sharing this, you are doing your lords work😂🙏🏾
1 of the main reasons for hand injuries they can’t keep them open for most of the wrapping time Cutting circulation and other reasons the need for calcium and other minerals
doesn’t matter. appreciate the fact that we got to see in depth footage of the training lifestyle of a legend such as Hopkins. even the wrapping of his hands is masterful.
