This channel is one of the last bastions of old-school gaming RU-vid. I was just telling Bill/AlphaOmegaSin that you, him and HappyConsoleGamer are really keeping the flame alight in that regard. I guess John Hancock would fit that bill as well. I'd love to see you cover more of these bizarre/obscure NTSC PS1 games.
You were the first retro game channel I've ever watched, I still remember your old game room tour and how it absolutely blew my mind. I can confidently say that your content made me fall in love with retro games and now to receive a new Pete video on my feed, of ps1 hidden gems no less, just made my day, heck it made my week! I think you should check out a ps1 title called hard edge, think might peek your interest if you don’t already have it. It’s heavily Resident Evil inspired with terrible but great voice acting

About 3 months ago I got 120 PS1 games for 100$, in this box of games it contained about half of the games you just mentioned it also contained Klonoa, Thunder Force V, City Of Lost Children, Clock Tower & a bunch more awesome rare/expensive titles. The funny thing is before getting this incredible haul of PS1 games I had zero PS1 games in my collection lol. I will definitely be playing the games you mentioned in this video thanks!!

Have you checked Carnage Heart from the same developer of Tail of the sun? It's a turn based strategy game with real time combat phases, where you don't have direct control over your units, rather you program your unit's AI to adapt to the enemy. I would also recommend Panzer Front, a really impressive imo tank simulator with strategic elements and an interesting control scheme.
Would love to see more PS1 content! Either more obscure gems or import stuff! Also wouldn't mind seeing more jank horror game suggestions for any console!

Would love to see the import games, ive had a jpn ps2 for a long time and have a number of imports, always like to find more you can play without the language issue.
Im enjoying collecting for PSX again so much. 25 years since I was a diehard PS fan, I'm collecting and playing most of the games I either had, rented and enjoyed, or straight up missed out on. Now my collection is bigger than ever (though miniscule compared to yours). I cannot believe it's been over 2 and a half decades... time flies!
It's funny how "hidden gems" lists pulled many games from obscurity and niche hate-play to non-ironic must-know-minimum. I'll always prefer genuinely great rare PSX stuff. *Silent Bomber* - still can't believe there's no sequel or even some twin stick indy weirdness focused around similar control scheme. Many shmups did the "mark for missile" part fairy well but that's about it.

Also, it seems like most of the games I'm interested in from this list didn't get PAL releases. Guess I might go my tried and true buy the JP copy for the collection and play the emulator route haha
Pete I’ve been following you since 2010 and these style of videos are why I followed you for so long. I’m never around to see your streams but I hope you plan on uploading more videos like this, they are so calming and refreshing.
RU-vid videos these days are too in your face and I realize there is still an audience for videos in this style. I am just glad that people appreciate my views on games enough to listen to my descriptions of them rather than have to have gameplay to accompany it. I think it takes a certain skill in video making to talk about games in a compelling manner without gameplay and keep viewers’ attention, so thank you for the kind words.

I think I've played a demo of Kingsley's Adventure before. It's surprisingly late in the PS1's library (like 1999/2000) I bought a copy of Akuji the Heartless as I got into Crystal Dynamics after playing through Pandemonium! and Legacy of Kain series. Running of out time is a staple of Crystal Dynamics in that era it seems.
