Good video! Gungrave is an old classic. Small recommendation, just a bit of gameplay added in over your voice would do wonders to increase value to the video. Keep up the good work!

City Crisis is a lot of fun, I agree it feels very arcadey. My copy does have the name on the spine so it must have had more than one printing.

Great Recommendations! Especially Route 66. For anyone that is interested, some more cheap PS2 gems I'd recommend (especially if you are a racing fan): Aqua Aqua (Wetrix 64 sequel) Arctic Thunder (Super creative detailed tracks. Midway arcade racing at its best.) Cart Fury (Another hidden gem midway racer. You can race on Mars.) Cocoto Fishing Master (Visually interesting, simple-fun fishing game.) Power Drome (Amazing futuristic racer. Better than wipeout fushion.) Magic Pengel (Getting expensive now...but one of the most visually interesting games on the PS2. Love the detailed hub town.) Midway Arcade Treasures 3 (the hidden version of Hydro Thunder on the PS2) Sega Classic Collection (An interesting exclusive version of Outrun in this package) Taito Legends 2 (includes better running versions of Raystorm and G-Darius than the extremely expensive PS1 versions) Anybody have any more? PS: If you have never heard of it check out SkyGunner for the PS2. My absolute favorite game and a work of art. Expensive though.

Nice recommendations Pete. I have King of Route 66, it's a really fun game but gets pretty challenging after awhile too. I had Ruff Trigger at one point but I sold it years ago. I thought t was a pretty decent game. Reminded me a bit of the likes of Ratchet & Clank. And yes I would love to see more recommendation videos.

People shouldn't sleep on Treasure's Stretch Panic just for the creative fun it has to offer in it's bosses. And Gitaroo Man back when Kori took more risks beautiful character design,music and replayability. Thank you for reminding me about Cookies and creame 🤣

this is what i miss about old youtube and the gaming community, and if you keep it up you will bring it back, is just talking about games... it doesn't mean they have to be obscure and forgotten, yeah i understand you do not want to sit there and talk about everything everyone one else is talking about. its just the general fact you are just talking about games, i would have to say you and John and rob are the only ones that still do that, i think kidshoryuken does it once and awhile when he shows a pick up video, Gamester81 use to as well but he does not post as much as he use to. lukemorse1 likes to talk about arcade games a lot which is a nice little twist, and bill (alphaomegasin) posted 2 videos just recently. hope he continues to keep it up. Pete, you along with many of the people i mentions have been around shortly after my discovery of angryvideogamenerd, back in like 2006, you guys as a crew was what got me back into retro video games, and thanks to all of you i have a decent size collection 1000ish games physically. i only pick up what ill actually play and leave behind games for others has been my method since i picked up collection, and how much we all where agienst digital games back in that time, i was also in that boat, it is something that is kinda hard to avoid now. specially if you do not wanna spend and arm and a leg on a single title. and my digital collection across the board is some where around 500 ish titles. keep up the good work pete, i cannot wait till you do the import stuff too. i have a small little import collection m self, its not huge or anything, but i discovered through the community that some times its just better to get the japanese version of the game specially if its import friendly to play. :)

EDIT: I actually JUST bought Crisis City yesterday along w KOF XI for PS2 9$ a pop- but my CIB spine has CITY CRISIS in yellow, still same front though. What did they do multiple releases you think? I bought it because it reminded me of my old PC fav from Maxis Sim Copter mixed w Air Ranger:Rescue Helicopter (Which I always wondered if the elusive Choplifter: Crisis Shield was a budget release of in PAL)

I managed to find Ruff Trigger: The Vanocore Conspiracy at the fleamarket (My Recent Game Pickups 44 (November 2021)). Great selection of PS2 games that you do not see or hear talked about.

Some of the games you showed caught my attention, but the one that I had to get immediately was Adventures of Cookies and Cream, I love Cookies and Cream ice cream, and so it sounds like a fun game. Also Ruff Trigger caught my attention, and if I can find it in my area I'd like to check it out. Hopefully you do a part 2, the PS2 is my favorite console ever

Cookies and Cream is also great for playing with your kids. My 28 yo still talks about the times we had if video games are brought into the conversation.

There is one game I've rarely seen people talk about that is one of my best PS2 games ever. Its called Drakan: The Ancient's Gates. It was my second PS2 game after MGS2 and I absolutely loved it. It was probably my first ever "open world" RPG and I have nothing but fond memories of it.

Gungrave is fantastic. I played it all the time back in the day.

I remember going into a babbages before gungrave came out to ask them if they were gonna get any copies in. I didn’t even have a ps2 at the time. I’m excited to check it out.

keep them coming Pete! For some reason, every time someone mentions rare games for the PS2 I always think of mr. mosquito. I don't even if it's good or not, but remember seeing it a lot on discount bins around the tail end of the PS2. Have you played it?

The PS2 is such an amazing system. I feel like I just keep finding awesome new games I wanna play on it xD Well, fun fact dispenser time! IGPX was an anime that aired on Cartoon Network's Toonami block in the mid 00s. It was indeed about battle racing, it started as 5-minute shorts and eventually got a full 26 episode series. I'm really happy you mentioned Cookie & Cream (known as Kuri Kuremix in Japan and PAL regions) I admit, I enjoy the reactions people give when I show them the game and explain it's from From Soft xD It also got a port to the DS a few years later!

The Astro Boy movie was spot on. All they did was give him pants.

well its nice to have you back and i kinda skipped the ps2 and im into emulation atm because there arent any interesting games i want to play. and i think its fun to play old games on current gen systems. so whatcha gots for me today? so i can fill up my usb with goodness :O

One of my favourite PS2 games is definitely a hidden gem. Dai Senryaku VII is a pretty incredible tactics game. It's the only entry in the series to be released in North America, and it's a shame that it did not sell well, as I don't expect we'll ever get another entry localized. IGN's criminally low score probably didn't help either. The game is still very affordable, and worth checking out if you like tactics games.

wow, right off the bat the first 5 games i found dirt cheap years back & passed on all, and still will (sorry). and i love quirky, unique, underrated titles despite critical reception. gungrave, cookie cream, and city crisis are respectable. stretch panic should've been on the list

I think the Tak and the Power of Juju trilogy is an amazing hidden gem that deserves more mainstream attention! Amazing 3D platformers
