Rare Red Power Footage | Plow Day | Chapter 16 IHC. Rare International tractors in operation on the farm. Never seen before footage of old tractors plowing a field. #farmallfanatic #farmall #redpower
Only tractor my dad ever bought new was a 1026. Came with 5-16's sorry I don't remember the model of the plow. That duo did all of our plowing on 300 acres for 35 years. Red clay. None of that black loam here. As a boy I took many a nap on the floor of the cab lulled to sleep by the whining of the hydro. The 10 is still on the farm and belongs to me now. I plan to give it a once over next winter and get it back out in the fields. Thanks for the great video.
Great video! Nothing like Red Power under labor!! I recognized the 450 at the 10:08 minute mark and the 21:44 . Not only have I seen it a various shows, but I met the owner several years ago (2006 I think) on the way home from the Red Power Round up in Mansfield Ohio. It was at a gas station and his trailer tire blew out. I was hauling my M from the show. We got to talking and we only lived 45 minutes from each other. I loaned him my trailers spare tire so he could get home. He brought it back to me the next day. 😆 Some Red Power memories!
This is great therapy listening the the sound of vintage Machinery. Looking forward to seeing plowing again this year myself after 2 years of having no show
I was in F.F.A. Back in 1971/72 and there were three farmers ( Garlish ) and it was the dad and his two sons and they farmed a unheard of amount of acres at the time … rented and owned over 1300 acres of prime bottom land . I would drive out too the bottoms and just sit on the hood of my 1962 Bel Aire and watch all three of those tractors pulling plows and or discs with that guttural hum of those 6 cylinder diesels driving and turning over that black dirt . Every once and awhile they would hit a patch of hard pan and those turbo would start winding up ! Brother thank you for sharing what this country boy misses , memories over fifty years ago of a fresh faced farm boy just passing time watching modern technology like the 1066 which were starting to take over more and more chores no one even thought about 15 years earlier . Great video my friend thanks for sharing a mutual passion of farming and feeding the world . 🍺🍺👍🏻
That was really cool. Sincerely appreciate this. Takes me back to the 80s watching dad and grandpa run our Super M,350, 450, 560, 1086, 3088 and 3588 2+2 running two dairy farms.
Enjoyed the video! We have had a few red power. The first H my father bought new didn't have PTO and only came on steel. Later he changed over to rubber when it came available Didn't have any equipment with PTO, pull and belt driven at that time. Then a Super A No hydraulic unit on it. I still have that one. Overhauled it 42 years ago. Still going strong. Had a 450, 504, Super C, 300 row crop, another H, 806 and 5 years ago I bought a 300 International Utility with factory loader. Thanks for putting out the content!!!
Never seen tandem plows! Looks like a nice setup! Damn nice display of RED POWER! That 5 bottom isn’t a challenge for that 1066! Neighbor pulled 6-18’s with his quite well! That Farmall 300 did an awesome job, as well as that H ! Wow what a awesome day! I had a Farmall 350 diesel we pulled 3-16 Oliver’s with it quite nicely! Man I’m envious, I miss those days!
Nice of that guy to let you ride. I haven't ridden a 4366 since 1975 when the farmer I worked for demoed one for a week from the dealer. It was a little under powered for a 32 foot 490 IH harrow they had it hooked to. He didn't buy it but bought a 2670 Case instead. Personally I liked the 43 better. I call them "baby Steigers"...
I think he probably did better with the Case. People turned these suckers up and that bit em in the ass. The 45s and 47s are worse. Engine goes, repower with an overpowered inline 6, then the rears crap out
Thank you for the rembers love the smell of freshley turned soil at sun rise after all niter under the moon and stars ! Too b a tenager on the farm again. Just memorys
Some real nice operating and proper plowmanship, those units all in nice shape and not being abused(ie some guys try to turn plowing into a race)u can go at a got clip without making a mess or simply being too rough, great video FF
Farmall Fanitic :) excellent video also ever get see Farmall 232 wide front with 4 cylinder gas 47 hp built in 1951 with any implements you say holy moly that powerfull tractor also have 3 point hitch also options hydraulics hook up ! Think 232 like Farmall H also used same motor but bored also stroke also block but bigger size plus more hp also torque! But great fuel saver and quick start up or running so nice !
Perfect show of red power and that's what I like is red power and that 1026 is pulling well and 1066 is one power house tractor and that tractor has no problem with pulling plenty of power and the 4366 is under not under power it has plenty of power to pull one 12 bottom plow
First, I have never seen a 1066 that wasn’t turned up lol Second, we have a lot of red clay rolls in some of our fields and we pull 4 14’s with a extremely supered up 47 m. 9” is about all it can go without spinning out but it will hall the mail in 3rd on. That dirt must turn hard. Roll Red
I couldn't resist it there fanatic I had to have another one not only do I know the guy with the 4386 I know the people whose form you were on. Those guys are good farmers and I'll guarantee you if it hadn't been fit to be plowing today you fellas wouldn't have been there. I knew one of the fell there sounds like he had a good time we were too busy here in our own place to get away to come up or I would have been there
Dad pulled a 5x16 with a 2x16 behind with his 1936 CAT RD6 up until the 1960's. The 5x16 Deere had a beam across the hitch extending out a foot or two with a tongue running to the back for the 2x16 to hook on. They ran from midnight on Sunday night to midnight the following Saturday 24 hours a day never shutting the tractor off. The CAT had no generator so would charge batteries during the day to run improvised lights at night.
I would love to get to go to a plow day or auction and talk your ear off lol! I really do learn a lot from your videos. I'm only 13 so I take in ALL the knowledge!
When I bought my house in 1976, the big acreage farmer behind us was running both a 9600 Ford with an 8 bottom and a big Allis Chalmers with a seven bottom plow, They worked that land by chasing each other around the field. The next year both plow rigs were gone, replaced by an older Case four wheel drive pulling a lashed up pair of plows: a five bottom pulling a six bottom. That rig lasted a few years to be replaced by ever bigger John Deers. I've seen a number of two plow set ups, always with different numbers of bottoms on the plows, always with the smaller plow in the lead. Any particular reason for that combination?
New subscriber here. Love your channel and I love Red Power. I use to have a Massey 245 before I had to sell it with my farm thanks to the bank. I'm in slower lower Delaware but originally from the wonderfull swamp lands of DC. I looking into buying new land to farm on and really like what I see with the Farmall and International muscle. Anyway love your style and energy, keep doing your thing, much Love and Respect
I so miss my youth on my uncles farm as I age. Would love to go work fir a farmer for free just to relive my youth. I never plowed but I drove the hay truck cus I was too small to throw the nails but had legs long enough to reach the pedals. No brakes just stall it to stop. Put er in 1st gear and pop the clutch to start er rollin. The good old days!@@
It's nice to see a plow day where everybody's gitten er done but not acting crazy or abusing the machines. Seems like IH tractors have less trouble turning any soil. I like JD putt-putts but if one is around plowing you can't hear the other brands running! Oh well, it's all good.
Nice plow day. Nice to see all that red power working together. Was wondering if you would get the 4 bottom 70 plow for the 756. Thanks for the video. By the way, I never said Hydros can't pull a plow but they have to pull less bottoms than a comparable gear drive tractor. The 1026 can probably pull 5 but that would be a maximum.
Good day Nice video. Boehm farms had hydro 84?? & there hydro is going But faster u drive more fuel u will use, I wonder if went gear slower could pull bigger plough, maybe like 14-16 or even 18. Thanks
I know that guy fanatic, they farm over by sarver Southeast Butler county. They're farm doesn't have any ground flat enough to use that outfit. Guess he had to go over to Lawrence county to find a spot.
Got a good 560 story for we had to 560 diesels one was a narrow front there was a wide front was a 63 the narrow front was a 62 anyways I decided to do some plowing one day and decided to use the narrow front with the three bottom fast hitch plows got to the field dropped them in the ground the tractor couldn't even pull them so I hooked the wire front up to them it pulled them like a dream I told my dad about it he didn't believe it he tried it same thing we can never could figure it out why that narrow front couldn't pull them plows
