“All across Northern Japan they felt it.” No. It was felt as far as China and Russia. I was in Tokyo when it happened and I still suffer mild PTSD from the severity of the shaking, along with the thousands of aftershocks.

how sad and horrible for the people, i live on the coast in louisiana, hurricanes, floods and tornadoes are a yearly threat, i've been through my share but nothing to that magnitude, i really feel for those people, i pray they never have to go through it again, once is enough for many life times, may god have mercy on their souls!:-)

The only positive thing about this happening in this age, is the fact that we can see it for real, rather than just hearing accounts and reading written testimonies. Hopefully that will help people understand the severity that is possible with a tsunami. Absolutely incredible and horrific.

Actually, the tsunami inundated at its furthest to a distance of 6 miles inland and at its highest point reached 128 feet! A consequence was that officially designated tsunami evacuation safe location points and high structures were inundated, killing everyone sheltering there, including entire families.

Earth quakes, put whacker plates to shame the ground can handle the friction, what the friction can be abstracted from the water to freeze the shallow water or even move it out to sea? Water weighs more in deeper depths also has more resistance to heat and cold this is why the bullet train to space is so sort after literally training would be using a bucket of water and hitting the bottom of it would it be possible just to freeze the part of the water which handles the quaking? It could lead to water levels dropping just use balloons space hoppers for the something to cut through the waves what goes up must come down you want a water fountain building

Whilst it is good that such video recordings exist, they serve only to emphasise the sheer power of nature being unleashed on vulnerable costal communities, and their immediate destruction! At it's greatest height it reached 128 feet and it surged inland to a maximum of 6 miles!

One thing I noticed when people were trying to drive their cars to get up to the tall mountain is that there was a traffic jam because people were going both directions all Lanes to go towards the mountain no one should be able to go the other way that's what we do here in America when we have a hurricane coming in all lanes are changed away from the ocean the same thing should happen there just something to remember for next time
