Hi Goose, great video, thanks. Following your steps leaves me with a running Cumulus node (with current staking cost of 10K Flux). Would I be able to use the node to develop my own app? Does the default Flux node come with the MEVN stack installed? Is there such a thing as a Testnet in the Flux node network?

That was a really good walkthrough, thanks. Question: what are the network implications of trying to run 2 or more Raspberry Pi FluxNodes? Based only on the information provided here, it seems that you would need a separate, dedicated Internet connection for each Pi.

Great series, could you do one with one of those $150 - $220 Celeron based mini PCs (that look like Intel NUCs) for sale on Amazon? Seems like for most people that would be much less hassle as they come pre assembled with ram, ssd, fans, etc AND can be upgraded in the future.

Goose, Do you have any experience with the longevity of the larger SD Cards being used a the Linux root partition? I used a smaller on on a RPI2 and it died after about a year of use. Why not boot from SSD? You might need a bigger SSD (500GB) to have Ubuntu and the Flux required space, but no SD Card required.

@millerz1897 2 года назад
The problem is there is no 1001 user-created yet. (That happens when you install docker) use "defaults" for the install. Also, you don't need all the ports, inbound. Most likely you already have them outbound. You only need port forwarding for 16124-16128, and 30000-39999. UPDATE: The new install script adds an option 14 which allows you to run 8 systems behind the same IP as long as you have a UPNP router and the service enabled. So, as of now, most folks won't need to do the port forwarding at all....

If i want to do this on a PC, i guess i'll just install the Ubuntu server on it, and then SSH into it and its all mostly the same after that? I already have a small PC that fits perfect for this, so i dont have buy an expensive PI 4 just for this. :-)

Tried installing it, got half way until i needed the stuff from Zelcore wallet. But when i send Flux to my wallet, i send exactly 1000 flux and it will automatically get into a node? I dont understand how that works.. Or if i have to do anything to get it so i can use it in my future node..
