@@GeorgeZimmermen tbh how they've advertised how big and open the worlds are its nothing like the previous ratchet games they were very linear like two or three paths maybe just one path to go down, the first 3 games are hands down the best for me personally, deadlocked and a crack in time come close just hoping its nothing like 2016 ratchet remake that was okay but very drab to play.

actually rac from 2002 was platformer with shooter aspects after rac 2(2003) and futher (ova's, future trilogy and experiments) It is shooter with platformer aspect. There is more shooting, exploration and progression gameplay rather than platforming.

I misjudged this game so bad but I bought it and I am very impressed, the graphics, the story, the gameplay and the humor are both great for children and adults, ratchet and clank are now my favorite duo, now if only we could get a jak and daxter sequel for this generation of gaming??😎

I absolutely LOVE the fact that with PS5 games you explicitely say "70$" (because it's a Sony exclusive) when tackling the matter if it's actually worth its price. I think you're not only doing great content but an important one as well, great job man.

@Fitzy If you look at how long to beat, you see that the average lenght of the main story is 11h and main + extra 15h. Though not that many people have posted their results there yet. Where did you get that 6h from?

I love how ratchet and clank still looks like ratchet and clank. When this goes on sale i cant wait to play. Haha 2016 R&C was distractingly beautiful to play on ps5 with that update. Cant wait to get my hands on this baby

Wound up getting R&C '16 for my PS5 during the "Play at Home" Initiative. The framerate boost was an excellent addition that made more sense than 30 FPS. Never played R&C prior to picking up that free game a couple months ago. But Rift Apart looks amazing and have it on my wishlist.

@@ElderStatesman me too, when i saw R&C "16 was free and had a 60fps update, i was like, "what the heck, might as well give it a shot"... downloaded it to my PS5 and i was really impressed by the fun gameplay and the graphics when playing in 4k HDR. . So im definitely getting this one. Giving the 2016 game a 60fps boost was a smart move by Sony, otherwise i wouldn't have given the series a shot.

One of my favorite franchises ever. Been playing since the first one, though missed a couple back then since I couldn't control what games I got on the PS2 haha. Platinumed them all thereafter. This will be a day 1 purchase for me whenever I get a PS5

The one and only critique for this game would be the enemy AI is non existent. They all rush towards you to their certain death. No self preservation, cover, flanking, dodging, countering, team attacks, or anything like that. It would’ve been fun to deal with smarter foes. Even bosses have their programmed sequences and will only change based on a health trigger. Other than that this game is perfect.

@J I'm talking in the sense that how the output varied from Ps4's initial years to it's end (the now) The last of us 2, God of war, Ghost of Tsushima has squeezed everything possible from the hardware... These are the initial games for PS5, once all the feature set of ps5 is ready for devs and they get to use it to it's full potential may be in 5-6 years the output's going to blow our minds

It's £60 here if you buy 2 £35 psn cards off CD keys. I won't pay £70 for games unless it's something I really really want but £60 to me is fine.

Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart is worth every penny it sells for. I bought the $80 version and am very happy with my purchase. This is the first game to show off what a true next gen game should be like. Even the game devs from MS are saying how A Rift Apart is how a next gen game should be like.

@@hoofhearted4 2 is so damn hard. And those invisible predator monsters we incredibly annoying. 2 is great but difficulty was a little high the locked 2 weapons only was a disappointment compared to #1/3 also #2 was the only game to have instant death mechanics.

I just joined whatever that youtube membership thing is. I appreciate your reviews and I bought this game based on this review. I started this game yesterday and ended up playing it for six or seven hours straight. It's fun as hell. It's totally broken and has tons of a bugs but... it's fun as hell and that's all that matters.

I'm so glad these reviews are coming in generally positive! I don't have a ps5 yet, but I really want sony to continue investing in single player experiences. So, every time they win in this space I feel safer buying a ps5 (whenever that becomes possible)

@@kriskater You can't totally stop it but they have tech to combat it. If you leave a news station on 24 hours a day with their logo on screen or just aren't a mindful person about that stuff it may not be right for you. If you're somewhat careful it can go forever and be fine.

@@jamesvancam it’s almost bound to be on Ps + eventually but it will be years from now imo. This is what makes it hard for me to want to buy it. But the lack of ps5 exclusives available may cause me to cave in and get it.

Issue with this mindset is it incentivizes developers to get that $10 from you some other way. Like making the game incomplete and charging you for microtransactions to get to their desired revenue level. If $60 was acceptable 10 years ago, $70 is acceptable now as long as the game is a complete work and at a certain standard. A game like Returnal shouldn't be selling for $70, but it shouldn't be selling for $60 either.

When I was trying furiously to find a PS5 early after release, it was literally because I knew Ratchet was an exclusive. One of my favorite series of games all the way back to the PS2. I eventually lucked out and got a PS5 after giving up on the search back in February by stumbling across it at Best Buy online near me, and have been waiting patiently on this game ever since. It is currently pre-installed and ready to rock on my PS5! I CANNOT WAIT!
