At 13:20 Ratchet touches the mud and swingshots out of it. Touching the mud causes the collision of all walls to be deloaded for the next 10,000 frames. At 14:12 you can see Ratchet enter a wall. Watching this live I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Ratchet to go through a wall to the abyss below the level. Wanted to share this information cos when else would I ever use it.

Man is it refreshing to see someone, especially a newbie to that series, enjoy Ratchet and Clank's dispute and seeing them softening up to one another over time. Realy enjoying this series!
i was upset when they had ratchet and clank be friends from the start in the movie remake, I get why insomniac would want to retcon the more self centered ratchet since their buddy nature in the later games has a better pay off when you see them fight here
I’m on chat’s side though, Penny literally said “Physical Battle” and “Mental Battle”. In Chess, sure there is physical aspects but that doesn’t mean the phrase “physical battle” doesn’t have violent connotations. Like if she thinks Physical Battle is the actual Chess Game, i would love to hear what the Mental Battle is … psychokinenetic warfare? ( 2:22:50 )
Both sides are correct (imo), which is essentially only possible because they are arguing over two different concepts/problems instead of being on opposite sides of the same issue. None of what I've said is specifically factual but I believe I've summed it up relatively well
Yeah, I tend to be pretty reckless with my R&C playstyle too My usual strategy is "how many explosions can I put on the screen at once?" And yeah, the games after this one are definitely nicer to the player. Aside from the health system, you also get to level up, and they move away from the pay-bolts-to-progress thing
I dont think the pay bolts to progress hinders anything though. I'm only halfway through the stream but panny has always had much more than enough to pay for all of it.
i just realized why the tank enemies suck so much: most of the enemies in this game can’t move and shoot at the same time. for instance, in the same level, the guys with the rockets have to jump before shooting, and the flying laser robots fly down and then attack once they get close enough. all of these enemies do “one” attack at a time, and there’s usually a tell as well. the enemies are predictable, and the only two enemies (that i can remember off the top of my head) that don’t do this are the two tank enemies. the ones in blackwater city are easy to deal with tho bc they take a couple shots from the blaster and can barely reach you, despite them being able to move and shoot at the same time. my theory is that the batalia tanks are two separate entities entirely - one for the head and one for the body - which allows for them to move and shoot at the same time. there’s no predictability because they have a way larger range than they should, they shoot oppressive weaponry at a fast rate, and they can move and shoot at the same time when basically even your character can’t do that (unless you’re really good at the game, which i’m not). it makes them an unfair enemy and probably the hardest non boss enemy in the game as well
The Disco Glove is honestly super useful in the hard mode of the Ratchet and Clank reboot, because of how much damage everything does in that move. It's crowd control, and very good at it.
3:12:08 The Groovitron is actually incredibly broken. It renders any enemies nearby completely vulnerable. They can't attack when you have it out and that allows you to get tons of free damage with the rest of your arsenal. The craziest thing about it is that *it works on bosses.* If you just want to cruise through the game, literally just use the Groovitron. I will say though that I'm glad that they didn't bring it back for Rift Apart because while I am absolutely all for some broken weapons in this series, they've used that one a ton and like you said, it's kind of there to force the humor of the universe
i know I am super late to the party, but i just really felt the need to clarify that there is *no* physical battle in chess. you can "physically" move a piece, but there is no physical battle. (unless it's chess boxing) loving the playthrough ! sorry to bring up something from 2 years ago xD
5:27 the ironic thing about these kinds of comments is that those people would have had to discover it too, whether it be their own exploration or otherwise, so shouting at other people for not knowing is basically like calling your past self a moron. Not everyone has experienced what you have in games, so do be mindful about how you word your comments when giving advice. Also, Penny reciting Robots is something I never knew I wanted 1:35:45
11:00 This is a great example actually, because while Chuggaaconroy does put a ton of preparation into his let's plays, he still talks a lot about the 'Let's Player's Curse,' where your skill at a game dramatically decreases immediately upon pressing record, when it comes to actually executing the gameplay while commentating.

I was really concerned with the content being released midway through; because Penny brought up physically assaulting fellow chess players. Thankfully she quickly clarified to her audience that Popeyes, her official ( and only) sponsor, does not condone that kind of behavior. It’s my understanding that she was trying to make a joke and has sense apologized to the chess community.
a bit late but I'm watching through these streams cause I like penny and co's dubs and her snippets from her streams crack me up plus i love the Rabit gets Crunked series and I have to say I really dig these vids so far. You have this endearing peppy mood with the occasional chaotic energy which is my kinda vibe, it's also fun to see someone go through this game for the first time with little background history. i just played ratchet and clank 2016 *twice* (once on challenge mode) and i did not ever hear qwark say "try as he might-". did- did they patch it out of the game? it seems like the game is significantly less obnoxious than as described. to be honest i'm pleasantly surprised that it isn't as bad as i've been hearing. the only thing i still severely criticize is ratchet's re-characterization, which would be fine on its own if it didnt turn his and clank's chemistry into absolutely nothing. they just don't interact or play off of each other at all which is really strange because clank is the second main character. i've been coping with it by chalking it up to captain qwark being an unreliable narrator and not actually knowing anything about ratchet.

Dragon Prince really kinda went into nothing at this point, didn't it? I guess accusations did not help, even if they get swept away really fast, but I don't see anybody talking about it at all anymore

Trying to watch through it again rn the only real issue I have with the show is that where it is a show meant for kids some of the dialogue is really cringey. Never really got that feeling while watching avatar other than a few sexist jokes that didn’t age well towards the beginning of the show (but to be fair they weave that perfectly into the story).
Ok, i know I’m late to this conversation on this, but too be fair, the creators of the legend of Korea actually expected the show to be so bad, they were just gonna make one season out of it and that was it, but because of a lot of the positive views, they created another season for it, expecting that to be a big flop, ok that’s my thought process on that conversation, i shall now play my games while i listen to your conversations again

The how I met your mother discussion made me realize how much I really don't like the phrase "aged poorly" cause it wasn't okay back then either. Nothing about the actual content changed you just learned information that made you go "oh wait I believed things that were wrong and bad" Idk just gives me vibes of people going "these days you can't say anything" like no you were still a jerk for saying those things back then, it's just that the people you were being a jerk to had less of a voice. Also for people talking about versions of chess where you tell people to move the piece for you, that still requires movement of all the body parts involved in speech therefore still physical so uh checkmate.
Deadlocked is a main line series game, not a spinoff, going from Up Your Arsenal to Tools Of Destruction is quite literally going from game 3 to game 5. It makes no sense to not play it.
