I swear, my wife is going to be so mad if I watch many more of these videos. I used to have a decent joystick/throttle setup but fell out of the hobby years ago. You guys have me itching to get a new kit and dive into DCS.
My wife is 110 percent onboard with me getting in to DCS. But with the recession hitting the semiconductor industry so hard my work hours have gone from 60 plus hours a week to 32 hours a week and I am having to use the funds I've been saving for DCS just to live on. I will get there someday but sense January I've used about 10,000 dollars from savings just to pay bills.
This was brilliant all around!!! Damn, just imagine the nerve of all those RAF pilots who flew countless night missions. That is a whole different kind of flying, and it takes an immense amount of skill to fly essentially blind, just using your instruments!!! Hats off to all you Grim Reapers for even getting off the freaking ground in those conditions!!!
My great grandfather was in Bomber Command flying under the RCAF he mainly flew the Lancaster but he had a few hours in the mossie Flying the Lancaster it would always be nightime he would tell me how it was oddly calming as he couldn’t see the ground until the Flak would start so he never really had to worry about the ground because what you cant See cant hurt you 😂
The Reapers Ballet on the runway in the dark is the stuff of legend 😂 Also seeing the Mozzies in formation crossing the Channel, it was impossible not to hear the 633 Squadron theme music. Absolutely superb. Bravo 👏🏻
@@lordorion5776 OK. But there were recorded incidents when mossies carried out bombing raids then successfully carried out fighter escort dogfighting on the way home

One of the very best missions flown by Supercap and the boys in my opinion. Far from sure about taking off en masse from an unlit runway in full dark..... even in wartime that's just inviting in The Grim Reaper to harvest grim reapers. What I really want to see is Cap and GR in Lancs flying at 100ft cross country to the Moehne dam, yeah I know there's no Lanc flight model yet- surely someone somewhere has the time and ability to mod one?! But I live in hope. Thanks guys, top notch efforts there today 😀

I cannot imagine how draining it would have been flying one of these old planes IFR for hours. An added complication being people trying to kill you while you were at it. Accidents while taking off and at landings were quite common. This is still the most homoerotic flight sim channel on YT.
Gotta love RU-vid compression. I see a gauge cluster and a black window with no white dots (once you take off) with Cap saying he can't find anyone. Then, after exactly, and I quote, "nothing" on my screen changes, Cap says he found them. He zooms the camera in for 1 second and we see like.... 1 white dot off in the distance.
Cap, when you go flying again. Ask the pilot to give you instrument reading only. You need to learn to read your flight instruments. This is IFR flying.
Hey Cap, love the channel. I know you've been struggling with the algorithm in recent times. I noticed that you get lots of view on your big naval battles, current affairs set pieces and re-imagined historical battles. The rest of the content gets much lower views. I suspect that the algorithm is punishing you for this mix(by popularity) of content. I suspect this channel would do much better without mixing the content (by popularity). It might be worth keeping the main channel for big, set piece battles that will get lots of views and moving the more niche content to the GR2 channel. Official WW2 protocol for trips low across the sea in Mosquito squadrons (according to Sharp and Bowyer, sadly out of print) was to never fly lower than the leader to avoid flying into the sea. It must have been harder to see the nose in an FB. VI, but presumably less chance of fixating on the leader and flying to the sea. Interestingly, a B.IV may have 'shot down' an FW-190 on a low level mission, possibly with bomb blast.
The other protocol is for the lead aircraft wave to bomb low level, but the second to pop up and bomb in a shallow dive, which was a little more accurate. Correct bomb fusing was critical. You'd need a minimum of eight aircraft to recreate it, though.
So...what makes a "night fighter/bomber" a night fighter/bomber? I imagine that night capable aircraft would have lighted and dimmable instrumentation and perhaps landing/takeoff lighting. Are there any other differences?
OK Cap I've had to come back to RU-vid. Rumble isn't cutting it. Have you guys heard of floatplane? It might be right up your alley. I haven't looked too much into it myself but I know it's developed by people that are tired of RU-vid and everyone else.

Bit harsh on your Nav Cap. You are clearly heard stating that you will bomb first and then do rockets on the second pass. Your Nav asks for clarification and you confirm the order a second time.
@@Davros-vi4qg TBH I’m just thinking about just getting into DCS now because flying was all I was really into in Arma in the first place and this looks absolutely ace in that respect. But thanks for the recommendation, if I get the bug to play Arma again I’ll look into it!
Hey man love the content I’m new but I’d love to see if they have any of the us mapped, I know the perfect area for you guys to play and use to make things but in guessing theirs no map for it it would be cool if we could use a drone to help 3d model it I jsut don’t think the US military would be happy about that in the area im thinking 😂
@@flashgordon6670 someone’s gotta help use something to do this for games like we have the tech snd it could possibly be used on scale models of a map so if you can make a mini physical version for games like cod i feel like I’d help get a feel for the idea snd not having to work ok certain things but that could be issues with it I don’t know
