I have bought quite a few middle eastern fragrances, when I get them I take them outside and spray them about 20-25 times to empty the straw. I might try them on paper but I will usually let them sit for a week or longer before I wear them on skin. I do this because it was a suggestion made by an influencer that I trust. Good luck:))
Thanks for recommending. I do that too. I collect Middle eastern perfumes since I was still living in Dubai and was prompted there..But there are just scents that I really don’t like and it’s not because of first sprays…
Hey, Joanne! Your style of reviewing is top notch. Love how you give personal opinions, while keeping the ratings based on objective points such as projection and longevity.
Hi dear! Thank you for appreciating. I try to be honest and FAIR with my reviews. Once someone mentioned how come I gave 8/10 if the perfume smells like an old lady to my husband. Oh well the fragrance costs $40 for 100ml and I think it’s just fair to consider that as well as the quality projection and longevity especially with Middle Eatern perfumes. I wouldn’t bash something inexpensive just because I didn’t like it personally… Anyway, thank you for seeing that 💕
I purchased Rifaaqat after your review and did not regret it. I felt in love with the first sniff. I also bought qaed al fursan and I like it a lot. Thank you so much. I am curious about the new Lattafa release called teriaq made by Quentin Bisch, who also created Delina.
Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited is the best blind buy for me. I was also on doubt before and after ordering it 😂 bcz of very mixed reviews on youtube. But I did it because of the bottle. It didn’t smell like sunscreen to me, it was very very creamy coconut with jasmine and sandalwood, vanilla blend. It was so intoxicating smell that I can’t even explain. It’s definitely a summer night fragrance.
Hi! Maybe it needs to sit more for the creamy factor to come out.. It smells extremely similar to something I have in my collection called Mancera Coco Vanille 🥥
@@jmercadobeauty Maybe for some but mine one from the first spray it was smelling divine. Anyways I left it for macerate and waiting to see the next dimension. Thank you for the suggestion.
I love & think BDK Velvet Tonka is a waaayy better fragrance then Oud Tonka. The quality/blend & depth far surpasses OT. I actually don’t find them all that similar but just in the same vein. Oud Tonka is sweet, strong almond cherry scent. It’s okay but I expected more. I’m hoping it’ll change & get deeper or more oomph in time. It’s missing something right now.
You are right. I could have emphasised this in my review actually. They are just in similar ball park but not 1:1. It’s a hybrid for me of Hypnotic Poison and Velvet Tonka. I’m not giving up on it as well even if hubby doesn’t like it 😂. I’ll let it sit more…
I like sublime becoz its easy to wear nd enjoy nd mood uplifting type fragrance to me.nd oud tonka is very unique to me. But i appreciate ur honesty becoz perfumes r very subjective. U explain fragrance very deeply so one can imagine it. ❤❤
Hi! Thank you for appreciating my thoughts as it’s clearly to distinguish what I think of it vs. If I like it for myself. At the end of the day just like you said, perfumes are subjective and people’s opinions should be respected whether it goes same for them or not. ✨ Thank you for watching dear 🙏
Hiii I love hypnotic poisonEDT so so much and I'm waiting on tonka oud to come in the mail. I am also waiting on musamam white intense. Can't wait to get them. Thank you! I decluttered al fursan unlimited it wasn't for me. There was something in it that did not work for my senses. But it was such a cheapie so I didn't have an issue with decluttering it.
If you like Hypnotic Poison, big chance you’ll love Shaghaf Tonka 👌 Musamam White intense is great for summer and spring. I’ll choose it over Fursan Unlimited. Good luck! I hope you’ll enjoy your new goodies 👌
Hi , loved the way you describe ur fragrances. I watched Part2 and here is what I have to say about both the videos👏👍. I will definitely look forward to more of such videos in ur channel.
Your review of Amethyst was spot on. I really wanted to like this perfume, but it was something about Amethyst that didn’t mix well with my body's chemistry.
@@jmercadobeauty I love how over the top the bottle is but I don't want to keep re-buying it or just throwing out something so decorative. I see other companies making refills available and it's a trend I support.
Hi Joanna! ❤Awesome lineup, as always 🥰 This Shaghaf Tonka sounds like something totally for me, I on the other hand love Velvet Tonka, Rouge Smoking as well! I have a bottle og Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited and it actually turns more and more creamy as it sits on the shelf 😊 Very clean and comforting beachy fragrance. Honor and Glory is so complex, I'm not surprised that it is challenging for some. It is slightly artificial as well 😆 I also don't like snakes, they are so creepy, I don't get how some people keep them in their homes, I would run for my life 😂😂 Golden one on a bottle though is quite nice, I got interested in that fragrance now 😊
You might like Shaghaf Tonka since you like Velvet Tonka.. It’s a hybrid and potent version of Velvet Tonka and Hypnotic Poison. I’m still keeping mine. I’m still trying to like it 😣 Qaed al Fursan is very similar to Coco Vanille which I have already so may pass on that one. I think it will be a creamy version actually. I know right?! And some people like it and mention how much they like snakes 😳It’s a very soft feminine fragrance. I love it 🥰
Thank you dear Joanna, you got me fully interested last year on my journey with Middle Eastern perfumes. My first purchase was a perfume oil as I had only one bottle left of my beloved Gucci Rush which of course is now discontinued and I loved the perfume oil not as a dupe but because it makes me feel similar, then I saw your video on ME perfumes. Now many months later and about 60 or so ME fragrances later I can honestly say only about 4 or so were a total blind buy fail, 7 or so are a , wait and see, but I have 6 to 10 signature perfumes I adore from these and love wearing 20 or so and change these depending on seasons and moods with another 20 or so. I bought a lot of the ones you recommended , still cannot wear Shaghaf Oud Swiss Arabian ( wore it a few times and love the dry down) , something about the top notes does not agree with me, I feel perhaps I do not like the saffron note as some other fragrances with that note are not my favourites either. But I feel it is a wonderful perfume and I will come back to this, it will have macerated now as well. Amethyst was a perfume I bought many months ago and I adore it, on my skin it smells warm and is a compliment magnet, but I also feel that maceration has warmed the notes. Sublime I also bought and was a touch disappointed, but now after months of maceration I love it and as you said such an interesting dry down. I love Infini Rose, one of my favourite of perfumes and another signature scent and I love Khaltaat Al Arabia Royal Blends , one of my signature perfumes, it is so well blended. I still love Blueberry Musk which was one of the perfumes I bought because of your video, it has become even lovelier with time. Thank you for getting me started in these perfumes and I have learned so much in this time and wishing you a lovely day, thank you for your videos, from sunny warm Tasmania, Tia 🌏🏖🌞🦘🦜
Hello Tia! I remember you of course my dear subscriber from Tasmania 💕 I’m happy to hear that you have reached now 6o Middle Eastern perfumes. I still remember our conversation. I’m glad tou have found some loves. It won’t be full love for everything of course but to find atleast 10 strong loves is good. I adore Shaghaf Oud and I get what you mean… Regarding Amethyst, it’s very similar to Oud for Glory which I love on my husband. It smells better on him. The kind of oud used in Amethyst just doesn’t really sit well on me. I prefer Infini Rose 💕 Kisses from Portugal
@@jmercadobeauty Hi Joanna , I really am grateful to you and your lovely videos that I watched so many months ago about these perfumes. You pointed me into the right direction for my fragrance journey, I still hope to be able to wear Shaghaf Oud as I do love the dry down, it is such a wonderful perfume. I got a sample gift of Oud for Glory and that was not for me ( I felt the oud was too strong ) and Gerry did not like this ( he has 3 Middle Eastern fragrances and 2 of these he totally loves). It is so interesting how we all smell things slightly differently and of course our tastes are all different, I think it must have to do with body chemistry, with memories and of course the way we smells notes. For some reason Amethyst's oud note is one I love, it is strange. Infini Rose is so beautiful. Kisses from windy Tasmania 💕
I appreciate your review. After reading your feedback, I've decided not to buy Swiss Arabian perfume. It's funny, my husband had a similar reaction when I wore Hypnotic Poison - he said it smelled like an old lady! 😳
Musamam White Intense is an exact dupe of Louise Vuitton’s Stellar Times 😊✨ Key Notes: * White Amber * Orange Blossom * Peru Balm Sweet, fruity floral with a smooth powdery sandalwood finish. It’s lovely!
Great reviews as always! 👌 I have Beach Walk by Margiela and was thinking about buying Musamam White Intense since the notes seem so similar but was wondering how they compare?
Hey!! MW has sweetness in it and it doesnt smell too sunscreenY. I consider it as a tropical floral scent slightly gourmand while Beach walk is not tropical floral and more of a casual summer scent to me…
I also hated oud tonka. it smells very strange, medicinal almost. I thought it was gonna be vanilla/like sweet. but it's not. it's so nutty, powdery and medicinal. there is no depth in it, they should've added some fruit or flowers? it doest even smell like Dior hypnotic poison! I love hypnotic poison but hate this lol
All your recommendations I have purchased 😂 and I looove every single one, although i really liked sublime I was curious with the baccarat smell i can deffinately smell it, and I feel it sits on my skin soo well. I just love your videos, ive just purchased musamam finally in stock😍 i am excited🎉
Salamat Po for your lovely videos! If one already has Dolce Garden, is Musamam White Intense redundant? I just received Shaghaf Oud Tonka 🩵 and might need another bottle. I find it to remind me of fluffy marzipan and have been spraying it like crazy. I also tried it with Shaghaf Oud Aswad to sweeten up Aswad’s drier base and that combo was a bomb!
Just today ordered samples before I buy; Junoon Noir, Honor & Glory, Sublime, and that beautiful snake bottle one 😊 Please what do you think about Junoon Rose? That sample is also on its way!
I agree. I am on the second bottle of Junoon Rose. I just love it. It is long lasting and you can smell it even after hrs. Just you need to be careful to not spray it on light clothes due to juice color 😊
Hi! I don’t have a lot of layering combo actually as I wear just one most of the time. Once I hathered some amazing combos, I’ll make a video of it. Thanks for watching Sue 💕
Thx for this video🥰🥰I have so many regrets buying middle eatern perfumes blind.I will never buy them again🙄but some of them are really nice😍especially white musamam and kaheela lux and kismet angel😍😍😍
Thanks for sharing!! This is true especially now everyone is hyping them. It’s not ok to buy everything just because they are cheap. We all want to have like a “jackpot” buy of the month 😉
Girl Im still in the hate level about the honor & glory, I find it a bit more masculine leaning for my liking.. Im so curious about the one that you mentioned that would be similar... I really love your videos so much, was already waiting for a new one.
Honor & Glory develops into OK.. But the one I mentioned is 10x better. It’s unisex and 55%masculine leaning haha but smell wise, it develops to really smooth pineapple woody scent.. I’m happy you enjoyed 🙏☺️ I just uploaded part 2! Enjoy 💕
I had the same thoughts as you about Shagaf oud tonka.A very amped up almond bomb. The only Shagaf oud I liked was the OG..their new shagaf oud elixir is also on the same line and very likable. All the others are just hyped up clones of designer fragrances.
Haha I must like old lady perfumes, I loved Shaghaf Tonka oud. I wish that you were located closer to me and I would buy it off of you. Great reviews 😊
Thank you for the response. Which would you choose between Azraq and Killer Oud? Also, could you recommend a nice fresh sensual Middle Eastern fragrance that would be Wife friendly?
@@larrybrooksjr6342 Hey! I prefer Killier Oud personally on a man. And when it comes to fresh sensual Arabic fragrance, I like Orientica Royal Blue (it’s a dupe for PDM Layton)😀
I think you have saved me a few coins 😂 thank you for your honest reviews! What was the fragrance that you mentioned is better than Honor & Glory? Apologies I missed the name! 😊
I felt the same about honor and glory. Hated it at first, then it grew on me a little. I like the scent but not as a perfume. I think it would will make a better candle or room spray.
I just got this. Sprayed one spray to test it out. It smells good but all I get is sweet almond. Nothing else. Reminds me of an almond filled croissant. Not sure it’s my thing…. Bummer. I can see the old lady comment being legit lol. I prefer Burberry brit. Almond and vanilla with flowers. Just a little more mellow and crowd pleasing almond scent.
It’s a perfume review video not a hype type my dear. If you want to hear the ones I love the most and the beat ones in my opinion, I have videos called: 10/10 middle eastern perfumes. There you will see good stuff
I have Lamar by Kajal it’s a delicious sweet pineapple, I don’t like to buy inspirations because it’s not the same fragrance and it’s not the same quality, Just my opinion
Hi! I didn’t discuss any inspirations by Lamar in this video and none of them smells like Lamar. To me, as a perfume reviewer who works with affordable, niche and luxury brands, I’ve tried everything possible in all sorts. Affordable, niche, Arabic, indie, luxury and by doing so, I’ve concluded that there’s no such thing as luxury or original is better. Everything must be enjoyed and appreciated by the wearer. The higher the price tag doesn’t mean it’s better in quality…This is my honest opinion on this matter ✨
I feel like it’s all year rounder. It has freshness in it that’s great for summer. I wore it the other day and it was so hot and it performed well in open space. Honor and Glory & Khaltat Al Arabiya have same level of longevity and projection imo…
Hi Joanna, love your vibe, your descriptions and I got musamam white intense on your recommendation! I heard it’s best to let the fragrance sit after spraying it several times. Was this your experience with this fragrance? I noticed the box smelled really chemically but the fragrance smells like good quality.
@jmercadobeauty to me they really are very similar however if I had to choose I would choose khaltat arabia royal blends as it has slightly more richness to it ,if that makes sense lol 😆
10 sprays was too much 🤪 lol! 10 sprays of anything would be too much especially in the confined space of a car... just teasing but my goodness 10 sprays of anything would suffocate me
Aaah i considered the Baden als oud sublime because i tested the kayali Apple perfume BUT i am sooo over the baccara rouge DNA for me its overpowering everything Else in every perfumes like this. For me i have cloud, mod vanilla, alien nova, tester from delina and lattafa initio Rose and for me they are all kind of the same. So sad.
I would recommend anyone not to spray any of these middle eastern fragrances in your home. If you’re not familiar with the middle eastern flare. Do not waste your time buying the Badee Al Oud Amethyst that stuff is nuclear. It smells like gasoline and rose mixed together. You won’t smell anything else. You get what you pay for. It’s a reason why you don’t see the other fragrance ladies reviewing these. Thank me later.
I wish I could agree with you but I’ve had the bottle before I sold it for 10 months. It is absolutely not good. I recommend anyone and I warn anyone do not but it.
It’s an honest and FAIR score. It’s potent strong with QUALITY still and scent profile is just not my style but it will be loved by MANY hence it’s 8. I take into account if something is just cheap smelling synthetic stuff that is just horrible and none of them are that level. And lastly I take into consideration the PRICE. It will be unfair for me to bash a perfume that is affordable. All these points matter to me when I do my rating..
If you are new to this series, I based my rating as well with other factors such as price, quality and likeable factor, longevity and projection. Sublime ticks 4/5 factors for me hence I gave it 8. I may not like it for me but I can imagine working out for a lot of people. For the price, it is fair to get an 8 in my opinion 🙂
Very good content but if you had optimized your videos properly which is called SEO then you could have got much better results i.e. your videos could have reached more people.
✌🏼 If you didn’t hear what you want to hear! It’s a real Review and not hype style BUY THEM ALL because they are cheap 🙃 like you are used to.. Ps. I have more likes in part 2 🤣
He Joanna .. i love your review videos. I am new to middle eastern perfume so your video helps me in choosing what I like. I just have one question.. have you try KNOCK ON WOODS? by Tory Burch?.. I really love this scent, so lately I was searching online looking to buy there were not so many and they are now expensive and I heard its discontinued . I wanna know if there is any clone of this perfume that I don't know or you if can recommend any that is similar other than SANTAL 33. 😀
I haven’t tried Knock on Woods so cannot guarantee. But if tou want something similar to Santal 33 that is a more likeable version, I suggest Parle Moi Milky Musk 💕
@@jmercadobeauty thank you so much for replying to me 🤗 I live in finland so some companies do not deliver this far up north. 🙁 I do know notino and deloox and i have sometimes ordered from there 😊 definitely will look up that anabis 😉
