The Denmark one is wrong, since the Faroe Islands has thier own. Denmarks also sound different. Search for the danish one. Its clear when you hear it, that it's not the same. Else this comment is very useful :D
The french anthem is one of the most violent and martial ones out there, I only started realising it when I compared it to others - probably because it was written as a war chant during the war against Austria in 1792, while there was ALSO a civil war going on. It was actually a time of terror and desperation, and great violence & instability in society. That was a way not just to encourage people to go fight the Austrians, but also to stand against the monarchy and its principles.
The French national anthem is actually a warior patriotic song made during the French Revolution of 1789, it was not supposed to be an athem at first but when Republic time has come it was chosen as like a reminder of what we've been through
Russian national anthem is unbelievable. I could give it no.1 and the German national anthem , German nationalnAnthem did by the Great musician Joseph Hyden.
If you know ANYTHING about French history, their anthem is spot on! You gotta remember the people suffered under the monarchy there and the French Revolution. I think the words are so powerful! It fits perfectly
Maybe if they changed the lyrics the French would stop rioting every time their government tried changing a law. Of course, they would first have to riot about changing the lyrics of the anthem to decrease the amounts of riots.
@@eighthlegofthephantomtroup1842 Bruh..The French national anthem is about one of the most defining events for them as a country. It's about the French revolution where the common folk took to arms against the king to overthrow him and the monarchy. They have an excellent song with great powerful lyrics which used to be a call to arms but now is a relic of a forgone time. It is not similar to the case of Spain.
South Africa's anthem is super unique, because it has 5 languages in it. Xhosa (first stanza, first two lines), Zulu (first stanza, last two lines), Sesotho (second stanza), Afrikaans (third stanza), and English (final stanza). Man I love my country.
Actually it's not that slow from the normal and I kind of like slow version of our national anthem but would have loved it in just one voice instead of multiple.
People whose country was covered: "Joel had a bad take on our anthem. Cancel him!" People whose country wasn't covered: "Please cover my country next." Joel: *noticeably confused*
i have been waiting for him to react t: ja vi elsker dette landet sooooooooooooooooooooom det stiger freeeeeem but all was wasted time jk loved all the anthem songs
Well honestly what do you expect from an anthem written about the Revolution ? For example the bloody banner part is most likely a reference to a painting called "la liberté guidant le peuple" where a woman is seen waving the french flag over a pile of bodies killed during the fights of the revolution, the flag isn't actually bloody in the painting so maybe they just wanted to make it more epic or it's just symbolic like the flag is bloody because it represents a country that's wounded and torn apart by the revolution.
@@imnota As French. You're totally correct. That woman you mentionned is Marianne more like she's the Motherland of France. French National Anthem is the Greatest Anthem in the World when it comes to courage standing against Dictatorship or tyranny. Thrilling and pompeous Anthem The Line "an Impure blood, water our furrows means : You're willing to gave and sacrifice your life, spilled your blood for your Motherland.
Joel: An eagle isn't that America? Me: there's eagles in almost every country Joel, the goddamn bird flies all around the world. Mexican flag has an eagle. 🇲🇽
Lol everytime someone says, "long live the queen. ", she ends up living another year lol edit: i just wrote this comment for fun- but i never knew it would get SO many likes lmho
Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen. Long live the Queen.
It wasn't written about the revolution though: It was written as "War song for the Rhein Army" during the war between France and Austria... RU-vid should strike this anthem for "inciting racial hatred and violence". And I know what I'm talking about: I'm french and german and I prefer, by extremely far, the german anthem
I mean, knowing what I know of French history, the anthem makes sense: they did have to go through a lot of bloodshed to get where they are now. But Christ, that's dark for a national anthem.
Not to say your point is not good but national anthems are supposed to remind people of the great things their freedom fighters have done for their nation so I think the lyrics are appropriate, but I do have to think if the children would be ok. Maybe because they learnt abt the national anthem after the history lesson abt the French revolution. Sorry for dragging this out XD.
@@shawnathonalways honestly (i'm French), I couldn't remember when I first learned it but I'm pretty sure I was quite young and even tho at that time I probably didn't understand everything I was already aware of what happened during the French revolution
When I was a kid, I was a big fan of F1 and since that time to eternity I'll never forget the melodies from your country's Anthem. Schumacher (and sometimes Barrichello) wons so many races with Ferrari that every Sunday I was listening to the great Italian National Anthem. Just Unforgetable.
And I wonder if they'll change it if she dies. Like. It hasn't always been queen has it? It use to be king right when her father was on the throne. Right?? I don't know enough but I feel like the lyrics will change when her son takes the throne.
@@VanitasVraz I think they will. They've been changing for ages. It's kinda weird having an anthem that changes depending on the ruler but we deal with it. - I live in Britain by the way
@@VanitasVraz yeah weve had the same national anthem with kings. You just change all the "queen"s to kings and "her"s to "him". (E.g "send him victorious happy and glorious god save the king.")
As a Bhutanese this was so fun to watch! I'm happy to see people online reacting to our national anthem. Thanks a million! It is kinda weird for foreigners TBH and that part though 8:40 😂
I am at france aaaand At Paris: (people stealing, people breaking glass, people making POLICE VANS ON FIRE,people making cars wrecked, people shoots with guns) Me:Ahhhh what a great day!
Fun fact: the US national anthem was originally a poem written about the British bombarding and shooting at a fort (fort loundon in Virginia I think) and the US fort just sitting there taking it
France has the most successful military history in the world, people who make surrender jokes or make fun of France are jealous it’s a fact ( I’m not French I’m from Tunisia by the way )
@@dschroeder4380 I mean, it's basically a military song for when they fought the Coalition, who was fighting against the French Republic and tried to put the old regime back in place. The first title of the song was "Chant de guerre pour l'armée du Rhin" ("War Song for the Army of the Rhine"). When they talk about them coming to cut the throats of your sons and women, that's what they mean. It's supposed to be like "Aw hell naw, we're not gonna let them! We're gonna fight!" Brutal lyrics for a brutal time. The "impure blood" line is a bit weirder; some say it's supposed to be the blood of the French soldiers who were fighting for the people's freedom (the "impure" blood of the people, as opposed to the "pure", "noble" blood of the aristocracy), but it's still a bit weird
@@Mercure250 . the nobles said they were of blue blood and consider that the commoners were of impure blood, and therefore the words mean we are ready to shed our impure blood in the earth to defeat the tyrant of royalty..but you explained it in part well 😉
Bhutan was the first country in the world to completely ban smoking. Until covid came around and they realised that tobacco smugglers were greatly increasing covid cases. This forced them to again legalise tobacco. TLDR- Bhutan banned smoking to save lives. Then legalised it again to save lives
the hell, that version of Indian National anthem is sung by so many iconic singer. It represents our country. It should not be judged by anyone let alone Joel. no national anthem should be.
someone should have told Roomie that the french anthem was written during the french revolution/ Napoleon wars. It's a marching song because all European countries were at war footing with them. Makes it a lot more logical
I'm French I was feeling offended by Joel😂😂😭of course when you know the meaning behind those lyrics, you enjoy as much as you can the French anthem but when you don't know the meaning well...you have Joel's reaction😂😭 Anyway, the French anthem is BEAUTIFUL 😍

Ha ha... what a pun lol.) 15:51 Sweden (HIS anthem, remember that guys. It's important.)
France's anthem has a deeper meaning than just blood and slaughter. Our soldiers knew they were marching to certain death when they sang it during the war. It conveys their fear of death but their determination to fight. Its lyrics are gruesome but so is history. France never forgets its soldiers
@Merry Poet As did every soldier. Every country has bathed in bloodshed and injustly killed. My country is no exception and neither are the others. However I refuse to accept that you look down on men who fought on the orders of their ruler and died on the battlefield. The dead deserve respect, no matter what they once dis.
We also stole their drinking song to make the star spangled banner...and we took god save the queen to make my country it’s of thee....a lot of our patriotic songs are just to shit on Britain and I’m totally here for it
@@matthewewing9066 it was still a war against Britain because Britain had control over the land at that time as Canada wasn’t founded till later and it ended in a draw.
I'm not French, but everyone should know that the French anthem lyrics go back to the French Revolution, so it's completely normal that it talks about blood and death, it is a call to arms.
"yes" and at the same time "no" not necessarily about: "but everyone should know that the French anthem lyrics go back to the French Revolution" Read this pls, It was for RoomieOfficiale : F000 Y00 RoomieOfficial YOU ABSOLOTLY DON'T WHAT THIS LYRICS MEANS FOR US. And you put 2/11 ?!!!!!! WTF I am French and proud of it, RoomieOfficiale ABSOLUTELY DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THE WORDS MEAN TO PUT SUCH A DEGRADING NOTE TO MY COUNTRY AND I'M AMAZED THAT YOU DID THIS. The anthem was created to express all the suffering that my France has undergone because of the monarchies of the kings, the social inequalities and the barbaric killing that took place in my country. There were many problems and millions and millions of deaths and it was like that all the time before. My country was suffering a lot from the inside because of the almighty and at the same time because of those from the outside. We had the worst sufferings in the world and many other countries had it too, we were humiliated, weakened both physically and psychologically, trampled and betrayed too, yes all that. But the worst of all were the NAZIES and that's why we lost the whole northern half of the country and especially the capital Paris. The NAZIES had even put their symbol on the Eiffel Tower to express the total domination of my country which almost belonged to Hitler's Germany. Just like Russia (USSR), France suffered more than any other country in the world because of the NAZIES, especially in the domination. Only Russia can understand us about the danger of the NAZIES of Germany and even the USA helped us because they knew that if France lost, the USA would lose too. The "Marseillaise" is a song that encourages all the French people not to let themselves be done against the enemy and to REVOLVE that in spite of all the sufferings, we will always get up again and that we never give up. And even if the enemy dominates us, we will fight until the end and if we have to die to do so, this is our determination and our will. We will never fail. So if for you RoomieOfficiale the words of the anthem of my country shock you, well it proves that you have never suffered in your life and that you do not know the TRUE SUFFERING. And France proves through this song, even if we lose battles, we NEVER lose the war and that we will do everything to go to victory even if we have to die for it.
After reading so many comments themed "where is my country anthem?", I think Roomie will have to do every single anthem on planet. Maybe even include some other planets in our galaxy just to be sure. Well, he brought it on himself...😁
