Dancer is fun when you have to properly fight there, but you can burst her down way too quick. Not just sellsword blades, but also Black Flame or magic.
Great fight has to be hard in 99%(except midir, he is trash). Isshin(as is old, as is young), malenia, fume knight, lorian&lothric, friede, nameless king, sir alonne, arthorias, manus, kalamyth, sihn and so and so on. Dancer isn't even a good fight, she is only normal-not bad. Easy fight, good design, no interesting lore, normal second phase, normal-good soundtrack. Just compare her to bosses like lorian and lothric, to nameless king, to sister friede, to soul of cinder. No chances to dancer to even reach some parts of theirs fights, not even catch up with all the fights.

Isshin is not a great fight it is a God tier fight, the fact that you like Kalamyth and think that Midir is trash makes me disregard your entire opinion that you wrote here. Which is what i will do.
@@beniregesNo joke I actually enjoy fighting aldritch cause his movements are cool and his lore is great. His rain of a thousand arrow is such a cool move. After elden ring he felt way more manageable too cause that one snake boss spams spells way too much.
Vordt has one of the best souls designs around. Observe him and don't be hasty and he is piece of cake, spamm r1 and you are dead. His weakness is also perfectly designed (it's rolling into him), to the point you can easily walk between his legs without getting blocked and spank his ass is also wonderful. He is built in spirit of souls games.
@@galaxyvulture6649 Exactly my sentiments tbh. Many of DS3 bosses were Bloodborne paced imo but Vordt was amazing. Similarly to Lorian, Cinder (bad as final boss but great fight) and nameless king (not the dragon phase that shit sucked).
Nah Oceiros is dogshit and the Dancer is really good but not the best. Edit: I have since changed my opinion. Oceiros is underrated but not by much. 2nd phase charging attack is really bad.

The fight that follows is them fighting you while fighting each other and everytime one of them goes down another one rises. Has a predictable but absolutely cool pattern, the lore behind them is both amazing and tragic, all of it, just perfect.

Yeah, I agree with that placement personally. I find dancer extremely boring with an okay track. Dragon Slayer's had one of the best tracks in the game and despite not being the biggest challenge is still an epic battle as the stage of game he's placed has you and him solidly as equals.
That is my favorite fight across all the games, plus the ost is so good. Not enough people bring it up when they talk about the best fromsoft bosses of all time
I would even say the twin princes have a better track than sister friede/ariendel and the soul of cinder. In my opinion of course, plus their story and dialogue is so sad. People were disappointed that it was the last set of ashes they needed to relink the fire, but it's perfect because they so desperately don't want you to prolong the age of fire, they forgive you for fulfilling your duty but remind you they have their own as well. It doesn't need to be some impossible battle or grand finale (though the grand finale definitely belongs to the soul of cinder), it just needs to be a beautiful asf story
For me, the Dancer is the perfect example of what a fromsoft boss is: a twisted, nightmarish creature that yet, retains some elegance from a glorious, almost forgotten past. Also, the OST is simply amazing.
Nahhh bro was ridiculously easy well ig there’s that NPC summon right? Without them it’s harder bc he has 1 move in particular you can die to- which me on NG+5 or NG+7 the max difficulty. I definitely got cooked by Wolnir like 3/4 times😭💀
Abyss Watchers has many great things about it. A great OST, great atmosphere, great theme and lore. The fight itself is quite cinematic and it's refreshing as one of the few actually good bosses in the first half of the game.
I’m late to this but I couldn’t put him over SoC, twin princes or nameless king in the base game. And if we include dlc it’s game over for him with Gael and freide.
You do not want to fight that guy. One of the worst bosses in the game. He literally attacks so frequently that you just never have any openings to attack him yourself without taking damage and then he summons a second version of himself so both of them are attacking you at once. Best thing to do with summon for that fight and cheese him with the strongest weapon while he's distracted
@@brettpardue8786You’re just bad bro. I spent 3 hours on the fight and I won, definitely one of the harder fights in the game. - He gives you many openings, I know because I was using an Ultra GS. The slowest weapon in the game and I didn’t trade with him. If you’re trading with Pontiff, you’re bad. - You can also parry him. Almost every melee move is parryable, like they couldn’t have made it easier. - His clone HP is super low so when he spawns it you can deal easy damage to him and the clone.
I'm glad everybody agrees about the dancer. There's something super special about that fight. i know I'm biased, DS3 was my first soulslike, but when I finally got through the high wall-- I must've spent hours chipping her health away with what little damage my dex and endurance-powered club did. Then I finally used the wiki and discovered Vordt, then did all that shit and when I came back I nearly defeated her taking zero hits because I had just entirely memorized her attack combo. But that was just when I realized I should be taking the game seriously, and then quickly fell in love with this genre
Dancer is an AMAZING boss. She’s not gimmicky, she forces you to play defensive and not get greedy with your hits. And she’s great for practicing your dodges lmao
Oceiros isn't bad, but that bloody instakill charge of his is pure BS. However, if you judge him by OST, he's got my favourite OST in the DS series along with Gael and the main theme.
I fought dancer again after 7 years. I actually agree that she's just alright. I think the only reason she worked me when I first play ds3 was because my health pool was low and I was getting 1-2 shot. If you've got enough health if you mess up, she's easy. Don’t even need to exploit her, just be aggressive. The intimidation factor and hesitating because of her movement is what messes with peoples heads. Nameless king and those DLC bosses, though...still a struggle.
Hot take: Deacons of the Deep are actually a great boss, not in difficulty or mechanics, but in their atmosphere. This moment when you pass the fog gate and they just peer at you without moving for a second while bell rings is probably the most dark souls thing to ever exist, i really enjoyed smacking them with greatsword and vibing to their ost
I haven't played DS3 but I will, not now, not too soon but I will, maybe the next year or at the end of this one. The bosses have a very cool visual design 😮
Vordt is a good start boss. and his theme is fricking legendary. like its THE Dark souls theme everyone uses for memes of the boss music stuff. its iconic. its dramatic. its a banger. even if i have to fight an overgrown hamster with a big hammer

The only complaint I have about the Abyss Watchers is their health is too low so the fight ends too soon. The idea of it being just an all put brawl between you and the other watchers is great and the first phase ends too soon.
One of my favorite details in the transition between Arthur and John is with the journal. You will notice that Arthur is a fairly talented artist with nice flowing handwriting. But when john starts using the journal, you see his drawings are comparatively crude and his writing more of a scrawl.
One of my core memories is me and my friend were on a new playthrough and I was out of embers and vort so I jokingly said just wait one sec gonna fight dancer, then a minute later I somehow first tried her
This is one of the best if not the best final bosses in game , no hype , no backstory, just a simple final boss standing there to get beaten, they made him like he is us , bearer of the curse and the chosen undead, and then lastly he becomes what first lord of cinder was like , gwynn , he even does his slow effortfull kick and that miserable grab of gwynn, damn! , final bosses aren't meant to be hard or need a backstory, thats what SoC is , just a boss, beautiful game man i will play this again just for this fight
Vordt is at least a Charlie scream for me. It was my first example of really having to learn a souls boss moveset. I played ds2 before 3 but at the time it was too hard for me but then I picked up 3 and vordt is what made me really want to get better.
My boy Vordt does not deserve the hate, yes he's piss easy, but he's such a perfect boss for a newcomer, the move set is easy to learn and teaches you the basics of timing your rolls and choosing when to attack.
My favorite boss will never not be Dragonslayer Armor. Not the best, not the worst, but does literally nothing wrong, and works on every level as the pinnacle of a fair fight. His tells are exactly what you want to know what he’s doing, his damage is more than fair for his placement, and his fake out stagger for second phase is exactly what I want to see bosses pull, it was genius. Couple that with great music and a beyond badass appearance, and he’s cemented himself as an icon
