@@bugout1895 you know you can be Nigerian, or any other ethnicity for that matter, and not live in your country of origin? There are a lot of Nigerian people that I have met that live in Indiana.
As a Nigerian, I am overjoyed that you made this, there's just something about someone on social media acknowledging your countries most popular dish that makes you proud of you culture.😊
@@Unknown1.- when did i ever say you were happy it was number one. this is why you cant ever just provide information on the internet for people who dont know because people like you always have to make it about yourself.
The amount of joy I feel right now is crazy. This is the exact dish I wanted you to make and you did it perfectly using all the ingredients that are normally used to make this amazing dish.
@@unclegardener technically speaking, Jollof rice should actually be SENEGAL'S national dish since it came from there (named after one of its main ethnic groups). That being said, adding onto your question, what is their national dish as well?
@@NovikNikolovicNah! We took it from Senegambia and sent it through the Cosmos.🚀🚀 Nothing, and again, nothing beats the proper Naija jollof!!!🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 We deserve our trophies for that.🏆🏆🏆
Kids literally used to make fun of me for bringing fufu and egusi soup to school so seeing that specific dish go viral and seeing other people embrace Nigerian food makes me very happy 🫶🏾
Glad you liked the rice, also glad that you made it correctly. Because usually I’m used to people making things from different cultures incorrectly then saying that it tastes bad despite the fact that they made it wrong.
I just wanna say thank you lol, youve changed how I eat my breakfast and given me a lot more freedom. You’re probably one of if not the best food creator on youtube. Keep it up!
I think the same! And if you enjoy food creators and learning recipes you could check out babish's culinary universe, great creator and teacher, only difference is the focus on other dishes other than breakfast and special occasions
@@_schylag_137 I love babish! I especially love his videos where he recreates food from tv shows. However, I’m used to his channel name being “binging with babish”, so I still call him that sometimes🤣
As a Nigerian I can say that you made it quiet well, tbh we usually eat bread and milo or Ovaltine in the morning but more times then not we can also eat "lunch" or "dinner" foods for breakfast
As someone who's homeless, for sure this stuff is good! They serve it often as the only people who come out to feed us are Nigerian. Very kind souls with good hearts. 💕
@@dustyzbrick9510with free Wi-Fi and phones being so cheap most homeless do have phones nowadays, I was homeless for 3 years and had internet access for all of it
As an ex homeless guy, ( tbh still homeless but I’ve got a friends couch so kinda yknow?) for sure there are some great people, hope your doing as best as you can
I lived in west Africa for two years, and since being back in the US, I haven’t been able to make jollof as well as I had there. It’s literally the best, so good.
I’ve been following these series for a really long time and I’ve been wondering when he’s talk about Nigerian food, or if he even knows Nigeria. As a Nigerian I’m so proud seeing this video 😍
I'm a native English speaker and you honestly spell better than me. Also made some the the Jollof Rice a few days back and its very good compared to what I eat in America.
@@vintagevortex9478 You should feel privileged that you live in America, and love the people and things around you!! Although Nigeria has really good culture food etc, it is not the most stable country at the moment, same with other culture rich places
I remember when I was a kid my mom used to cook me this so much and I didn’t know what it was called so I never knew the recipe for it and my mom kept it a secret for me And it just gives me joy you tried this
Am so happy you made for Nigeria 🇳🇬 I have been requesting it since I subscribed to your channel am really glad you tried it out ☺️ and I didn't expect it take top the chart 📈. As a Nigerian I feel proud about it ☺️ .
It’s so good. My neighbours make it and always give us leftovers. They often put lamb (also goat I think) in it and honestly it’s probably one of the best rice dishes I’ve ever eaten. They make it so good and are such lovely people.
For anyone planning to make this, its usually a good idea to cook the rice with the sauce. This prevents the rice from getting soft and sticky and prevents the rice from getting burnt before the it absorbs the flavour (although for party jollof rice, burning is part of the recipe)
You cooked that really well my guy. Every family makes it different and the way you made it is so very similar to how my family make it that i can envision the taste. 10/10 cooking 👍
My fellow Nigerians this is one of the most beautiful thing i have seen so far on youtube. As Nigerian i am happy at least something is recognised from our country from a famous person.
Thank you for this, but next time if you want to try this again I advice you also fry some plantain as a side dish and instead of using water try chicken stock (preferably some seasoned water you used to boil some chicken previously, but if you can’t just use a store bought chicken stock.)
Omggggg I'm soooo excited!!! I always watch you rate other people's national dish and the fact that you actually tried ours (Nigeria party jollof) and liked it ♥️♥️♥️😌🥺🤗
I'm Nigerian and once I saw this my smile grew from ear to ear It's so funny how he pronounced obe ata (Insert cringe "mom I'm famous" here 😂. No but fr thanks for 149 likes. It's the highest amount of likes I've ever gotten.)
