Since this is an evil deck presented by the proffesor, the instructor should present a fun and friendly deck next and hate doing so, just there can be balance in the universe

Alright can we talk about this new style of Deck presentation!? This is an incredible style ofpresentation, and I have been loving it! Kudos to Prof and Mr. Eckman (Hope I spelled that right) for the style change as I really love this!

the professor: "this is pauper, every card is affordable" me: glares at oubliette

"Do you want to play a deck that isn't blue? Well, here's another damned blue deck." Wut?

A point on the Hydroblast vs. Blue Elemental Blast choice that Prof didn't touch on: If you expect to run into a lot of Boros decks that will be siding in Standard Bearers you should go with Blue Elemental. This is due to the difference in how the two are worded. Hydroblast can target any permanent or spell, then if it's Red it does something. If there's a Standard Bearer out you have to target it rather than anything else. However, if you don't regularly see Boros being played in your meta, then Hydroblast is the way to go. The reason here is the same as the previous situation but in your advantage. You can now cast Hydroblast targeting a Rat that will help by increasing the Storm count. It's a side case, but can come in to play for this deck.

I greatly enjoyed the presentation of the deck. The transitions and graphics were also wonderfully done.

I was inspired by this to go to the next level by not only denying opponents creatures, but also making them pay life to tap lands. One guy at the card shop loved the deck idea so much that he wanted to take the same idea to make it in red and/or commander.

I really like this list. I already have most of the cards in both paper and MTGO. Been tinkering with WB, but this UB list is going to be easier to build though. Don't be surprised if you see it come into our regular gameplay rotation on Gus Plays Pauper.

i always feel like playing pauper but then dont. first, it finally started happening as an event at my lgs, the astrolabe was printed. then it got banned but pioneer got introduced. our lgs has a pauper event every month or not at all and a pioneer event every week but in the same time frame, wednesday evening

just because i havent heard it talked about it in so long, do a deck tech of color commontary's (in pace requiescat) pig trinket deck

... the Proff's decks are practically the few things i play in pauper.

Out of curiosity, has perplex been tested at all in this deck? Might not be 100% guaranteed to counter with them having the option to discard their hand, but making them completely run out of gas, and also giving a 3-cost transmute seems handy.

An interesting deck, definitely a skill tester to play correctly. Also, Nihil Spellbomb > Tormod's Crypt in any black deck, IMO.

I love slow, grindy, miserable pauper locks. TortEx Turbo Frog was my first pauper love

Update: This deck is still playable with just this list, however Doom Blade should be replaced by Cast Down in every deck it appears in any Pauper deck....

A very Dimiring experience

I think a good tech against this deck would be to run evolving wild or terramorphic expanse so you can shuffle away the top card of the deck and try to find an answer

For the sideboard, why Relic of Progenitus instead of the new Soul-Guide Lantern? While Relic of Progenitus draws you a card in addition to exiling their graveyard, Soul-Guide Lantern only exiles an opponent's graveyard and leaves yours intact, which it seems like this deck cares about.
