I wish you were reviewing a new Ratt studio album 2 lol! Love Ratt there music doesn't seemed dated to me. I will definitely get this for my collection. Love that cover, did you ever check out any of Steven Pearcy solo stuff? It's all good!

Nice job, Brendon!! Huge Ratt fan as well, my very first show in the Summer of 84!! Re: the EP… I’m pretty postive that there’s never been a Time Coast version released CD… just the LP, which I also have. I do have the EP on CD but, it’s the Atlantic “re-release”…. which I’m sure you already know.

Great review. Kind of what I was expecting to hear about this one. I’ve been a huge fan of the band ever since Cellar but will wait until this one to either go on a significant sale or find it used. Hopefully Stephen will pull a quality live concert from the vault and put it out there one of these days.

Thanks for the review. This has already been released in the mid 2000’s, also called rarities. Its just been repackaged and reissued.

I have the 83 Ratt EP on cd and I'm so glad I purchased it back in the day, only Ratt studio cd not in my collection is the 1999 self titled album and that is by my choice

I know I'm 5 days late but I've always wondered why bands like Ratt or any of those bands from the 80s that just seem to make great album after album why couldn't they ever capture the magic they had in the 80s well into the 90s... I know music changed but it just seems like if they had just stayed the course and made music how they always made it it still could have eventually stood the test of time whether it's sold when it came out or not. But none of these bands could just ever really capture that magic again.

RATT - Ratt EP.........there are 4 different versions of this .....Ratt (EP) (Japan Edition)...... RATT - Ratt EP [Original Mix Time Coast Records - Music For Nations UK...this is the one we got in the usa .] 1983 ..... Ratt (EP) (Original Mix UK Edition 1 bonus song 7 songs ).......... Ratt (EP) (Reissue 1987 Japan.....sounds the same as Time Coast Records one )............they all sound alittle different

The version of "In Your Direction" is the only track exclusive to this release , The other live tracks are all from Monsters Of Rock Germany 1987 including "Wanted Man" and have all been released before , "Tell The World" is actually from 1982 before Bobby and Juan joined and was originally on "Metal Massacre 1" and first released on CD on Stephen Pearcy's "Before And Laughter" compilation, just like the rehearsal of "Round And Round" (actually from 1983 and with Joey Cristofanilli on bass) and the "I Want It All" demo, Stephen Pearcy has said that "Love On The Rocks" was the last song he wrote with Robbin Crosby and wanted it on the 1999 album but John Kalodner rejected it

For Tell the World, it’s probably the song that was on the Metal Compilation (Metal Massacre , maybe) that came out that year.

Are the versions of Bodytalk, Wanted Man and Round and Round the same that are on the Stephen Pearcy anthology?

I ended up just getting the Ratt EP on cassette, I'm not paying the ridiculous prices being asked for that on CD. The reviews for this new Rarities release are not very good, people are complaining about the quality of the recording, but I'll probably pick it up. I need to add Collage to my collection.

I bought the Early Years vinyl in 2007, at Virgin Megastore, it has a different cover from this, and only 4 songs 1) Tell the World original 83. 2) Round and Round live 87. 3) Body Talk live 87. 4)Wanted Man live 85. I imagine these 4 are the exact same as the new cd. They also released a 2 song 7inch 45 single , at the same time, but inever found it

I thought Stephen Pearcy was working on Ratt Raities thing. He was talking about it a couple of years ago. He said live, demo's, unreleased stuff. Do you know anything about that?

I thought Infestation was a good album too.

Tell The World isn't the same as the debut EP. It sounds like a studio demo of that version.

Not going to waste my time on this. Only 9 songs is lame. And the quality is not good. I already own the EP on CD and if you want good collections....Look into Stephen Pearcy "Overdrive" and Mickey Ratt, The BEST OF. Also, Infestation is incredible!!! If you watch the Stephen Pearcy documentary he states that they are working on the releasing the EP with 2 discs. One being the original and the second disc as a remaster. He didn't have a timeframe when it would be released, however. So who knows when we can get our hands on that.

I dunno how the new bon jovi album could go from 5 to 201 or worse lol. I would have gusses it would be like , 5-25-39-70-102-133-178- then gone. Not 5 and thats it. Lol
