I sang “Thank You” more times in church services than I can count so many years ago. Taught “Shepherdboy” to my son when he was 6 years old, and he sang it countless times as well. As he grew older, he lost most of his hearing and vision due to a genetic inherited condition. Now as a 43 yr old man, he cannot carry a tune, but he still sings it. I just listened to a recording he’s sent his new fiancé, and I wept, as he sang the words beautifully, but with no correct tune to it now due to his hearing loss.😢 The words are powerful, and the Bible says the power or life and death lie in the tongue. Your songs still hold power, as they were sung under the gifting of God. The Bible says the gifts and callings of God are without repentance. God doesn’t change His mind…we do. I heard a sermon long years ago, “God will let you”…it still rings true today. God will let you do whatever you choose-but He doesn’t let you choose the consequences of the choices. The homosexual lifestyle is one of choice, because it is against the very nature of creation. Why many of us have had to contend with its vices is a question only God can answer. It may bring emotional fulfillment and even some physical, but the truth of its lie is never eradicated. It’s a branch of the root of idolatry, and anything, anyone, we allow to take precedence over our love for God is an idol. So no matter what, in the end we choose, and in choosing, we have to accept the consequences that will follow, whether in this life or in eternity. We may strive for acceptance in bay arena of our life, but the only acceptance of true value is when we are accepted by our beloved, Jesus. He says, no man can give you what I can. As if you were there when "God" was "inspiring" the writers. Question and keep questioning. Religion is one thing and spirituality is another. Many quotes in the bible are actually not correct as per their origins. You first must understand pagan systems in days long before the bible. The bible is a tool just like politics.

when I was a teenager I got saved in a shower coming down off meth and coke. that was Easter 1998. Jesus changed my life that day because I knew for the first time that God was real and that He loved me. As I began to get to know Jesus and grow spiritually one of the fist Christian songs I ever heard was "watch the lamb". I immediately experienced the anointing on it and The Holy Spirit began ministering to me truth through that song. The first Christian music album I ever bought was Ray Boltz. I would listen to that thing over and over just feeding off the biblical concepts and truths that flowed from the messages in each song. God used that music on that cassette to teach me about Himself. I even met you and your wife together Ray in 2001 I believe, in Joplin, Missouri, just before I joined the U.S. Army.I was so blessed by the ministry God gave you through music and it impacted my life richly. Years later, around 2010 or so I heard you had left your wife and children and perused a homosexual lifestyle. You know, I sat on that news and pondered it for weeks. So many feelings tried to come in. Feelings of confusion, betrayal, sadness, broken heartedness to name a few. Had I been a weaker Christian, having received spiritual revelations and growth thru your ministry, I could have allowed it to be a huge stumbling block in my walk. I learned how serious it is when an anointed minister who turns their back on truth to follow the lusts of the flesh really is. Ray God is not confusing, the devil is the author of confusion. Nature and common sense itself reveals that a man having sexual relations with a man or woman with woman will never reproduce life. The Bible clearly states that such behavior is sin. You know this, but you have hardened your heart to truth. God gave the Israelite's the law which is Holy to show the human race that we couldn't follow it, to point towards our need for a savior. The law revealed we had a sin nature that had to be put to death. Jesus came to take that sin nature to the cross, put it to death in the grave, and give the human race a new nature through His resurrection power of Holy Ghost. Friend the Bible tells you that you must put your sin nature to death, take up your cross and just like your own song says, follow Him. the scripture says we are to change the way we think, to take captive EVERY thought that isn't truth and put it under subjection of what is true. Jesus is the truth. Ray if you don't repent and turn from this sinful lifestyle then when Jesus returns you will be found living in agreement with a Lord that isn't Jesus, the way the truth and the life. Sin is deceitful and the door for all kinds of deception from the enemy who wants to steal, kill, and destroy you. why would you yolk yourself to the devil Ray, and teach others that it is ok to do the same? Ray I love you like a brother. I hope you read this and see the error of your ways and return to your first love. Jesus loves you, the body of Christ loves you and their hearts break for you. I plead with you please come back home, Gods mercy triumphs over judgement. Don't allow deception to continue to keep you off track. Repent and be restored while there is still time. You have a major problem, Ray....Your song "Don't Tell Me Who To Love", goes directly against God's commands. In fact, God DID tell you who to love.... Eph. 5:25- "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" You had a command to love your wife, and "wife" in the Scripture, is defined as a female....Both in Genesis 2, and Matthew 19. I realize you say you did love her, but in the end, you were unfaithful to her, and you obtained a divorce from her, so that you could practice the wicked desires of the flesh. It isn't about what "feels right", but its about what is right to feel. Truth is not decided by your feelings, but by what God says. The whole idea of "Don't Tell Me Who To Love", is that "I will do whatever I want to do, regardless of what God says." Hope you truly come to Christ and find forgiveness.

I find it sad, that you compare relationships with those who have a different skin color with the sin of homosexuality. Skin color isn't a sin. Homosexuality is. This is not the same. It's not a sin to marry someone of another skin color, notice I don't say race, because there is only one race...we all come from Adam and Eve through Noah's descendants. The reason that God said not to marry those of the nations is because as we see in Ezra and Nehemiah it was about those people still practicing their pagan idol worship...and this is what happened to Solomon. He was lead away by his foreign wives into idolatry. The Lord do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.” God never discriminated based on skin color, but warned against being unequally yoked with those who do not believe and worship the one true God according to His commandments. You have embraced this sin, and stepped away from faith that He could deliver you from it. This is why the false doctrine of once saved always saved is such a lie. Your sexuality is now your idol, because you put it before your relationship with Him.... I pray you find your way back to the truth, and repent.
No. Once you are saved, you can lose salvation IF you give in to the devil and start backsliding. A God fearing, believer CAN go to hell if God comes back and you are in the middle of a sin at that moment without repenting. You have to repent daily. It is a lie to say "once you are saved, you're saved for life"

I stopped listening to Ray boltz really after I heard the news, although he was considered to be my favorite Christian artist. I am a pastor and I face real life struggles in my Christian walk, like any believer would today I was reminded of something that Ray Boltz sing and I decided to look it up. I ended up downloading his whole album as I was listening to the words that he sang in some of his older albums I was reminded of how he allowed God to use him to minister through his music, I even begin to cry as his music begin to minister to me and encouraged my heart. it's unfortunate the path that he decided to take. Although I disagree with it I had to reach a place in my life that I have to step away from the hate of discrimination and segregation that we find so much in the body of Christ. I am not supporting his decision nor am I saying that he is right with his new stance. I believe what the Bible says, but not from a discriminatory perspective sin is sin. and so my prayer to God tonight was how can I help my brother and so I am here posting this statements because I want the world to know that I am praying for Ray Boltz. I pray the same for him. His music is so powerful and touched me over the years as I am sure it has touched millions. The sin of lust whether same sex or heterosexual is a danger to the soul of all humans. I look at him with his cap turned back and I see rebellion in his eyes. I too have had issues with sexual sin, but I lived in sin, ignorance and unknown rebellion then. So I am not judging him, but as 'Iron sharpens Iron,' I can't deny what I see. Actually God's word changes continuously according to who interprets it. Why do we have so many denominations today? Why do Catholics not agree with Protestants? Why do Jews not agree with Christians? As a matter of fact, I would argue that God's word as we know it, they are all written by men.

I don't think God is surprised with Ray's sin. I believe that Jesus was sent not to condemn the world, but through Him the world is saved. Jesus said, love the Lord with all your might and love your neighbor as you love yourself. We cant keep the law.....that's why there is grace. Oh...and sexual immorality isn't limited to homosexuality....yep it says fornicators, liars, etc all have their place in hell. So....God looks at the heart of a man. Ray professed his love for Christ and believes that Jesus is his way to salvation. He has christ inside of him and the holy spirit used his lyrics and music to transform hearts. Gay marriage goes against Gods word, yes they may think they are in love but it is false love, the love of unrighteousness and unrighteousness separates us from Gods love. Feeling and the heart are the very weapons of the evil one and we must resist temptations that destroy. Ray these temptations have destroyed a lot in your life, your marriage( remember God hates divorce), your witness( you have chosen unrighteousness over truth). I didn't know that the Bible went around judging people. I have seen people pick and choose passages out of the bible (at the expense of others) in order to judge others whom they don't think worship right, live right, love right or do whatever they deem to be righteous. There is far too much judging and not enough following Christ's great commandment to love God and fellow men and women. When you are in the service of God you are in the service of your fellow men and women for that is the work of God. To serve others.

@@ingeniousmechanic I have read plenty of books. I know you are referring to "The Holy Bible," of which I have read a lot. I was raised in a Christian home of the Southern Baptist denomination. It's outdated, and contradicts itself over and over again. The gospel narrative differs too much from the OT, during which God was an overwhelmingly evil asshole. I mean, he wasn't much better in the gospels considering it is the point where he legit abandoned "his people." If any of it were real, I would still choose eternal damnation. At least then I wouldn't have to con myself into thinking that "God" loves anyone and, even more specifically, me. Thankfully it's all a fairy tale. Throughout, you never once mentioned what God's Word says about the issue. All you talk about is what people think about it. Peter and the other apostles said in Acts 5:29 "We must obey God rather than men" The court case you mentioned dealt with something not approved by MAN'S law. The Bible does not forbid the marriage of a man and woman of different races. In fact, the Bible indicates that Moses married a Cushite woman. The people of that region were dark-skinned, possibly even black. The Bible does, however, deal very specifically with sexual interaction between two people of the same sex. Love for others is essential, but sexual love between two men or two women is against God's law. It's strange and sad that you have decided to turn you back on God after all the beautiful songs you wrote to honor Him.
I agree with you also. Just because we live in a "if it feels good then do it" culture, by no means changes Gods word. In fact Lot was so concerned with the angels appearance and the depravity of the men pursuing them that he offered them his daughters. And God commended him for it. I am grieved in my spirit that one who was given such a talent as Mr. Boltz can turn his back on God and all He had done for him. Vickie Walker Interesting how Genesis 19 is about homosexuality and yet Judges 19 is not about heterosexuality, but about rape. They are both about rape, which is wrong as it's a violation of another persons will. When Jesus refers to Sodom & Gomorrah, He always makes reference to it in terms of inhospitality and says the towns of his day were worse than Sodom and Gomorrah. In the book of Ezekiel 16:49 & 50, the prophet clearly states (lists)the sins of Sodom and the passage states that Jerusalem Sins surpassed Sodom, and her daughters,V47. Christ calls us to share His Love and not too judge but to look for the fruit on a tree as a tree will be know by its fruit. This brother Ray has produced anointed songs that have touched individual's lives to come to Christ and continue in their faith walk with Christ. Did God not know his orientation from the beginning, Yes! Oh, wait, people believe individuals choose to be homosexual-gay and it is not their true identity. Jesus talked about a group/class of individuals who fell under one of three categories and the first category did not have a choice in the matter as they were born from their mother's womb that way, second category are made and the third choose it. Jesus ends by saying, "The one who can accept it should accept it." Mat 19:12. I know the church likes to say that it refers to castrated individuals but one, I don't believe individuals are born castrated and two, if a person is castrated, there is not much for them to accept. This passage is very similar to what happens to homosexual individuals. By his story, he tried for a long time (30 yrs) and served God and yet God did not change him. Why? Maybe because it pleased God on how He made him and Ray was finally able to accept it. Interestingly, Jesus never said anything negative against the Eunuchs.
Ray, You didn't speak once about what God thinks. Your debate is with humans and mere man made judgements which are full of sin and twisted, self serving ideas and actions. Nobody can tell you HOW you wish to express love or to live and God allows you the freedom of choice on this earth to either follow him and lay down your sins at the cross or indulge in your sins that God openly warns us about. Sadly this life is so brief and your eternal choices will catch up with you. You think god loves him less for being gay? The gay community is way more active than you think. Theyre in church. Theyre in the community serving. They have a better understanding of what being christian means. They love without fear or judgement. Always there to help because of the persecution they go through.

MY PERSONAL TESTIMONY I grew up in a christian home knowing right from wrong. I also knew that homosexuality was wrong. And that it was condemned in the bible. So I didn't understand why I was feeling the feelings that I was feeling inside. I do remember when l was young . that I had a couple of friends.that were around my age. That made me do some sexual things things with them. So now I wonder if that wasn't the cause. That and I was exposed to pornography at a young age. Something my parents knew nothing about. Anyway I had such a troubled childhood.that when I was 15 years old . I ended up in a Adolescent Adjustment Center at the Laughlin Hospital. Then a year or two later at a drug rehabilitation center. Which was the first place that I "came out of the closet." Not long after that I convinced myself that I was "born Gay." A lie from the pits of HELL. Which I screamed at the top of my voice for the next 20 + years. But I knew better. Matter of fact there were a few times in there. That I repented, and turned away from homosexuality. But l hadn't fully turned my back on .homosexuality. I still had one little piece of it that I did not want to let go of. Which is why I fell back into it. That and back then I was VERY self destructive. Which didn't change until a few years back. But now through the saving grace of God.and through his delivering power. I AM now free from homosexuality, from pornography, and from my self destructive personality. THANK YOU JESUS FOR SAVING, and DELIVERING ME!!!!

You are a living proof that if we repent and go back to God and ask for his forgiveness, he will embrace us back into his arms and welcome us home, no matter how many times we stray away from him, he is always waiting for us to return just like the prodigal son that his father run to embrace him and welcome him...our God is a god of many chances...as long as we live...we have a chance to be forgiven by God if we repent and ask for his forgiveness...but man should not abuse God's grace and loving kindness 'cause satan is watchful to trick man to sin again and sudden death come that he may not be able to repent and ask for forgiveness and man die w/ his sins and surely hell will be the destiny of those who die with their sin not forgiven...
It probably was the cause. I have depression and God told me that depression is a demon clinging to my personality trying to make me think that was me but He said that's not the way he made me. Now I think that about everything. Demons clinging to people's personalities making them think that's who they are when they're not how God made them either.
Ray, you can't live your life based on "feeling" many people "feel" like doing many things, but they may not be "right" and we get our sense of "right and wrong" from God's Word. A child molester may "feel" like having sex with a child because they "love" them but it doesn't make it right, a murderer may "feel" like killing someone but again, it's wrong, how about the adulterer? they "feel" like they love someone other than their wife or husband, but if they are married, they are committing sin, just as sex outside of marriage is sin, an addict may "feel" like getting another fix, but he has to fight it, as should the gay population, fight against the sin! you may "feel" many things but we as God's people need to be living based on FAITH not "feelings" TRUST in God and walk by FAITH and God will deliver! Hate the sin for it will take you farther than you want to go and keep you longer than you want to stay!
This is what happens when we put self ahead of Jesus. When it becomes about what "I want" and not about what God says then we can justify any behaviour. I agree. Interacial marriage isnt a sin. I dont understand why he's using that story to justify his. God clearly states that gay relationships are unnatural passions. I am really encouraged by the comments here. It's a community trying to lovingly restore a brother who has lost his way. Let us all continue praying for Ray. It's amazing how well the rest of the world understands, take up your cross, deny yourself and follow me. Because they are used to suffering. Westerners are used to getting their way. We have no real concept of denying ourselves daily and dying daily. This is my own life's focus. It is the hardest thing in the world do. That's why our community is SO important. We must walk with each other "bearing one another's burdens". This is the only way. This is what He intended along with learning to fully depend on the Holy Spirit. Let's keep praying for Ray and one another. We all have our struggles but it's so important that we don't lead others astray in our own selfish desires.

Christ came and promoted "love"...(love your enemy etc...love others in spite of their creed color race, religion etc. and I guess whether someone sins or not). Based on what Ray is saying...I strongly believe Christ did not come and promoted "sin"....He always said..."go and sin no more" whether it is adultery or any other sin that God does not condone.(according to the Bible)...sin is still sin...."we love the sinner or person but we cannot love and justify the sin..."
There are some "sins" that are based on ancient cultural tradition (some of Paul's interpretation of scripture has been taken out of context) and other sins that are real and that includes Idolatry and loving money which many Fundamentalists are guilty of. Also worshipping the Bible as though that book were God is Idolatry.

I know people who practically worship the Bible like the collection of books were an Idol. Yes I do. They tend to be like the Pharisees of old, who worshipped the law and rejected the Son of God because of their Idol worship of the law. Jesus spoke out against them at every turn but He just angered them even more. Wouldn't it be a tragedy if modern Evangelical fundamentalists actually missed the point and rejected the Son of God because they were hanging so tightly to laws that they forgot the truth of the message Jesus was giving. That was that only 2 things were important and that was loving God and loving one's fellow beings (you know neighbors, friends, families, etc.). I'm not a scholar either though I was educated at a great university in the East. :) Jesus never once during his ministry said "by the way my disciples go out and multiply and replenish the earth." He didn't tell His disciples that. He told them to be fishers of men. That is to teach the Gospel message that He had conveyed to them. The Old Testament (the Levite message) is the one of multiplying and replenishing the earth (it actually means fill not to bring something back) is a very tribal concept. If you study the Old Testament you'll understand how tribal the Israelites really were. If they were small in number they wouldn't have been able to survive the difficulties that they endured. There were other tribes out there (obviously) besides the Israelites. Jesus was a radical revolutionary. My Jewish friend calls him "the Radical Rabbi" LOL Anyway Jesus presented the Gospel to His disciples and simply said "come follow me." He loved the single person as much as the married person. He loved the widow and the widower. He loved the orphans. He had quite a rag tag group of followers. He never told them "go out and get married and multiply." His radical departure from that tradition was after His resurrection when He sent the Holy Ghost and sent his disciples into ALL the lands to preach the Gospel and to bring as many of the tribes into the fold as possible. That was when the Gospel finally went to the non-Jewish people. Truly radical and the Orthodox Jews hated that. They felt like they should be a very selected and extra special group of people who made everyone jump through hoops to get to the God of Heaven. They hated Christianity as many of them also felt it was a sect of Judaism and they didn't want any of the Jewish truths being taught to the Gentiles/non-Jewish tribes. Before the Gospel went to the world the word was to be fruitful and multiply by having kids. The message after the Gospel was to preach the gospel to the world and to bring the tribes into the fold. No more would they have to build up the tribes of Israel through procreation but Jesus taught a radical new truth and that was to preach the Kingdom of God through conversion. Jesus also took one of the most vehemently self-righteous of Pharisees (Saul) and changed him to become Paul. Paul's greatest teaching had to do with grace and salvation. "8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) That was the message of Paul to the good old Ephesians and by extension to all followers of Christ. :) _________________ Part Two (LOL) As for the logic you followed Jaqueline it makes logical sense if you follow the logic of the Old Testament fruitful and multiply statement in Genesis. Your emphasis reminds me of the Mormons who not only emphasize that to the greatest degree but that concept is even interwoven into their Temple ceremonies following the prototype of Adam and Eve in the ceremonies. So here we have Jesus' radical departure from the old law and the old Jewish way of thinking and doing things. Even though Paul definitely became a follower of Christ and a great Apostle he still sometimes had an old nostalgia for the Levitical law. Even though it had been fulfilled and was no longer necessary because of Jesus and His atonement. Many fundamentalist Christians (and many Christians in general) forget that Paul was a mortal man. He wasn't Jesus and he wasn't even an angel. From all of the information we have in the New Testament Paul was not ever married and therefore he never was "fruitful" and did not "multiply" but he sure did bring a lot of Gentiles to the Gospel of Christ. Paul also made mistakes and he had to continually learn. Perhaps the "thorn" in Paul's side was a sort of addiction to the Old Law that he had been so steeped in for so long. Worshipping the law is definitely a sin because it keeps one from obtaining the kind of love and freedom that God really has in store. Paul also wrote a lot of things about many different subjects. Some of what he wrote was definitely inspired of God. Some of what he wrote was his own opinion and was based on his legalistic thinking regarding customs and Jewish law. When he wrote about women not speaking in the Churches he was writing about customs and about Jewish tradition. "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law." (1st Corinthians 14:34). We know that today the vast majority of Christian Churches not only encourage women to speak in Church but there are many amazing Evangelical and other Church leaders, pastors and ministers who are women. They are some of the most wonderful teachers and leaders out there. What happened to the Evangelical traditions (based on biblical teachings) of keeping women silent in the Churches? Obviously society and customs change. I'm sure Paul knew that anciently as well as he had already been through a radical change in his life through embracing Jesus as His Savior and embracing the message of the Gospel. It's extremely difficult and terribly scary to change. It's also painful to let go of traditions one has embraced as truth for a long time. That's what happened to Paul and yet he didn't change over night. It took years for him to make some of the changes he made later in life. It takes time. He was extremely busy either preaching the Gospel or being run out of town, getting in a ship wreck, etc. You know about that. When you read the Romans chapters and the few others that are quoted in the New Testament that are often used against gay and lesbian people (the original ancient Greek) are either obscure and confusing or are based in the old Levitical way of thinking. If you think of all of these things as coming from God it is easy to fall into the trap of attributing both tradition and custom to being the will of God. It's hard to change that line of thinking just as it was for Paul. Pay close attention to Jesus and what Jesus taught regarding the many different people He taught. He never mentioned homosexuality or homosexuals. He never said one word about that. I believe that gays and lesbians are called to the same kind of calling as every Christian is. They should be given the same opportunities to get married to the person they love as the heterosexual majority has their opportunities to love and commit to the person they love. I know the old line of thinking that homosexuality will go against God's teaching of multiplying and replenishing the earth. There are two points connected to that. 1) There are already over 6 billion people on the planet and the vast majority of those are heterosexual people and they always will be (somewhere around 90 to 95%) that means that only about 5% of the total population is gay or lesbian and even some of them have kids for one reason or another. 2) The Gospel being preached to the nations is now the teaching to increase the numbers and influence of God's people. Procreation is going to happen whether there is a commandment or not. People are going to have babies. You know that as well as I do. There is a place for the gifted, talented gay and lesbian people on the planet. God has a plan in His mysterious ways for His gay and lesbian children. There is a reason for them and I believe that various Christian Churches are learning this and are coming to the real conclusion that a person can be gay, in a same gender marriage and be a wonderful, peace loving, God loving, Godly person who is a great blessing to their congregations, their communities and the world at large.

Hey Ray. Just a non judgmental imperfect Christian here. Iraq Veteran too. I've served with people of different sexual orientation. All great people and friends. Many believe in God. As you know God gives us the conscious and choice, in our hearts as we are made in God, we know when we are living right or wrong. I've done many things during the war that still bother me. But I'm at peace with those things now. If you find yourself questioning your lifestyle, pray and ask God for answers. You know the word of God. It will never change. Jesus loves you brother. Your songs helped me through the Iraq war.
THe Word of God says that God hates divorce. But here Ray Boltz thinks its okay to divorce his wife, leave his kids, and go live a homosexual lifestyle. Am I the only one that thinks he is deceived?

Blaine Ubelhor Check out Romans 1:26-27. The Bible in fact calls homosexuality vile affections. Are you aware that there is a Bible that was very recently created to take out all verses related to homosexuality? It is called the Queen James Bible. If someone went to all the trouble to create a Bible that left out all verses about homosexuality, then it is an issue and the Bible does say it is a sin. 2 Timothy 3:16 says the Bible is inspired by God. If He could create everything in existence, come to the earth in the form of a man to die for the sins of the world, why would He not be able to put everything in a book exactly how He wanted it? Let's not put any limitations of God. This video is Ray trying to convince himself that homosexuality is ok with him talking about different races (a man and a woman) getting married and relating it to two men loving each other. I have no idea how that is even related. Also we ARE supposed to judge with righteous judgement. Check out John 4:27. This means that if the Bible says it is wrong we, as Christians, have every right (and are commanded) to judge with righteous judgement and let that person know exactly what the Bible says. I do not know if you are a 100% Bible believing Christian, and that the Bible is infallible. If you are, then I would welcome any challenge against anything I said, with Bible verses to contradict anything I just posted. If you are not, then we cannot have a productive debate over this. Ray Boltz obviously is not so I could not have a apples to apples debate with him, meaning he does not completely believe or accept all of the Bible.

I will never understand why non gays are so involved about this issue when the bible clearly calls out many other things as worse, yet today those things are just common place and accepted by modern Christians. Each verse that Christians believe condemn gays has been debunked by experts in ancient history and languages. Christians just need to worry about their own path and stop judging others. Try actually being a Christians instead of calling yourselves one and just playing the part. People see right through the hypocritical nature of the modern Christian. That's why gays are winning every single battle and the religious right is losing every hateful attempt to control anyone who don't believe what they do. I sated above to someone else I dont believe he was truly born again/ filled with the Holy Spirit. He played at being a Christian, but fell away being seduced by the world views of Satan. He was never on the Rock. The word never took root..God will test all of us to see if our faith is genuine or not.
His song, "Don't tell me that theres something wrong because I feel like this." Ummm God told you that there was something wrong. Sadly its true our hearts are deceitfully wicked and who can know it. But the bible does say, that if all you are is a "hearer" of the word and not a "doer"- you deceive yourselves. Him feeling that way about men caused him to justify his sin and he begin to "no longer "do" the word of God. Because if he "did" what the word of God said to do, he would have had to give up his emotions on this subject and just trust God. But he didn't and because of it, he became a "hearer" only and it led to some serious deception. Hope that makes sense. Sad... :/

My aunt found faith in your music. She was dying with bone cancer. She had her daughters play the song The Anchor Holds over and over until she took her last breath. I've been on your path. God turned me around. My first love and only love is Jesus. God changes people and things. No, my aunt always loved me. She never judged me but she prayed for me constantly. God is faithful and heard her. I've fully returned to my first love. I'm not here to judge you. Jesus will judge us all on that day. Be careful of the enemy and the allure of this world. Our lives are just a vapor. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. God is Holy. I pray he takes your right hand and leads you in the path he created for you.
It is such an odd thing to witness when someone who absolutely knows the difference between right and wrong chooses wrong and then tries to justify it. I guess I can't really explain it but it's just in their mannerisms their body language and of course the don't judge me attitude because I feel like those people that say that know that they are wrong and they just don't want people to remind them. I am in no way perfect or anywhere close to being what I ought to be but I do feel conviction about the things I do and I strive to do better I don't make up any excuses or try to justify doing the things I do. He's just a musician, not a Christian. The Bible says; by their fruits you shall know them. We are Christians and we have our manual, which is the scripture. Anyone who wants to discuss relationships from the Christian point of view must literally lift the instructions from the scripture. Our opinions must be rooted in the word, and nothing more or less.

A non Christian musician couldn’t have composed and sang those powerful songs that the Holy Ghost anointed and used it across several nations. I know the difference between a great musical piece and an anointed song.

I was just feeling the excitement of finding your CD, with your most beautiful, Christ-loving songs, amongst a lot of used, Christian CDs I recently bought. Then, I thought to search for more of you, Ray Boltz. I was saddened quite deeply, to find you giving the "okay" to gay marriage. I thought you knew God, intimately. I thought you knew and followed His Word. You actually tried to make inter-racial marriage equal to gay marriage! The two are farther apart than the east is from the west! And, I suspect, as far as you are from your Savior. What happened to you, Ray? I genuinely need to know. I cannot see how anyone could write and sing such important songs, and not know God, personally. Is it that Satan was the minister of music before his arrogance got him tossed out of Heaven? Is that how you were able to create such songs --- songs that cut right to the heart of Christianity? Was it always an act? Or, was it all true, and something happened -- something that would cause you to sell your soul to the devil? Tell me, please.....WHEN did it happen? Also, was it WORTH it? I do not know how long ago you wrote the song of which you spoke, so I do not know the time-frame in which the change took place in you. Ray, we won't meet, and you owe me nothing. I can throw no stones, Mother Teresa refused to identify a person by their sin. She would not call a theif a theif or an adulter an adulter. She called them what they where, belovered children of God. Accepting that title for yourself is to accept the gift of God. As for what is wrong or right I look to the laws of nature, in nature no two living plants can occupy the same niche, one will be more adapt and dominate. I do believe Jesus gave a list of rules to follow as he taught, I believe he explained how spiritual laws work and how that is relervant to the laws of the old testament. These truths can be reveled to us by spending time with him.

I would respectfully disagree with Ray. It's not just about being free to love who you want to love; it's a movement to silence anyone who does not agree with gay marriage. If it's just about love...why are Christian bakers and florists being sued out of their jobs? Why are Christian photographers being taken to court?

I just downloaded all your songs, because I needed to hear the anchor holds after my 4 year old niece and my brother died of cancer. Now I cant even listen without thinking of that coming out video I just stumbled across, dog gone it. LookingIand The Christian principle is grace. Grace is not a license to sin (Sin is the transgression of the Law 1John) but rather a space to repent, like you should. I can tell you either had a warped religious up bringing or you decided to be warped in your understanding of scripture. It is evident you don't understand which makes you like a 5 year old playing with a machine gun (safety off). You don't understand the safety's God built into the New Covenant. The old show us God's likes and dislikes and his punishments (without mercy) but in the New he gives us his spirit to live according to his word. He gives us grace to repent and try again. Nonetheless, in the end we will die, who sin willfully. To remind someone (Like Ray) who knows the truth is not judgment, but love. God instructs us to remind those who have strayed to return, it is part of God's word. If you want to call God judgmental; go ahead, he is the Judge and will judge all.

More so, God is so interested in the lives that have been tied around your ministry and ministrations. He can give you messages via your songs and USE you to bless their lives, but that only makes you a medium if you choose to be a sign post that directs others to the way and stays at a spot. You can drift away from your love, covering, connections and vision from God and still operate in the same way as usual, your annointing and ability to write and perform great songs may never be taken away from you by God, except you loose your peace out of guilt. My dear friend, Who are you addressing this statement to? I don't have the right to tell you who to love, but I am not your creator. If you believe that God created you, then he certainly has the right to direct your life. I heard that you were gay and I didn't believe it. So I just googled it and this video popped up. Please don't continue to make the mistake that so many people make which is to reason that no matter what they do, just as long as their happy, then God must be okay with their decision. Unfortunately, mostly church people or people who identify themselves as Christian, make this mistake.

It's so wonderful to see so many "true" Christians on here condemning Ray and thus feeling better about themselves. They (you) are quoting the few scriptures that talk about homosexuality, and insist that the Bible is the for-all-time, literal word of God. In that case, I urge all of you to please go ahead and take the Bible literally. Once you do so, you will be forbidden from eating shellfish (Leviticus 11:10), wearing clothing which is interwoven with another fabric (Leviticus 19:19), getting a tattoo (Leviticus 19:19), etc. etc. One of my personal favourites is “If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear." (Deuteronomy 21: 18-21). Oh, and it's not just those Old Testament folks. Women can't wear jewelry (1st Peter 3:3), women should keep their yap shut in church (1st Corinthians 14:34), and on it goes. Folks, the Bible contains many important, broad values - compassion, forgiveness, lovingkindness. But it is a cultural and historical document, and the next time you want to condemn Ray or any of your other wayward friends, remember some of the verses listed above.
God hates the culture of the world. The bible is full of examples...ours is no different. Paul's words to Timothy describe how much god hates our culture. Ray, buddy I saw u light up with your comment about your grandchildren. You understand I pray that you will forever be separated from them in eternity? How much worse will it be to be separated from Christ in eternity?
Ray, I can only imagine the struggle you felt inside all these years. It appears you couldn't change who you are but you had decided to follow holiness, and that was wonderful! No matter what sin we feel like committing or struggle with (any sin), we should bind ourselves to God's Word and ask Him for the grace to live in Holiness and not give in to fleshly desires that are opposed to God's Word. Love you brother as your music has been an inspiration to me. May God help all of us to live the life as he has asked us to live until He returns and gives us a glorified body in place of these corrupted sinful bodies we are born with.
Hi Ray! I don't expect you to remember me but we met a couple of times after your concerts up in Washington state. I tried sending you some of my songs but never got to that point because of what you decided to do. I miss you. I wish we had got to know each other better. I was with my wife as you were with yours at the table in back. How are you dealing with your struggles? I had my heartbreaking tribulation too. I almost walked away from my marriage. I am a christian singer songwriter and also contemplated throwing away my talents. Ray like I said we didn't really get to know each other but i still miss you. No I'm not gay, just wish I could have got to know you better and I do pray for you when I hear songs that the Ray I knew sang. Don't mean that in a mean way just that you claim to have come out. I have every song that this man has recorded. His music has inspired me and made me want to be a better Christian. As I listen to them I can't help but think what happened. Songs from the heart with such emotion but yet here you are spinning Satan's yarn. I do believe that Satan pays extra attention to Christians and we are tempted even greater than a non Christians. Listen to this man's music and listen to this and you will see how much power Satan possess. Just know Christian brothers and sisters this could be any one of us. This is why we should be in the world but not of the world.
If the world revolved totally upon how humans feel, we would be in a state of diabolical disorientation that is worse than we currently live in. I often hear the umbrella statement "Love is love," meaning that it doesn't matter who you love or are in an intimate relationship with, heterosexual or homosexual, but that all forms of "love" are acceptable as long as people are happy. This behavior is the same type of behavior that got the Hebrew Children into trouble after the Exile from Egypt when they made a golden calf to worship while Moses was on Mt. Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments from God. They could not wait patiently for Moses, so they created their own god, their own worship to satisfy their own needs, in order to make themselves feel better. But, things came crashing down when Moses came down with the stone tablets of God's Holy Law, and became enraged, and he ordered the calf, the IDOL, to be melted down and destroyed. Homosexuality is a sin against ALL of God's holy ordinances. The "feel good" society which this sinful world promotes moves us into a position of directly opposing the holy will of God. Satan is having a field day convincing people that they are homosexual, especially Christians. As a sister in Christ, I implore you to return to the foot of the Cross of Jesus. Confess your sins. Seek His forgiveness. Ask Him to make you into the man HE wants you to be. Ask Him to help you to amend your life, turn away from the homosexual sins, and to live a life in complete love and obedience to Him. Then, your life will truly glorify Him. If Jesus is truly the Lord over ALL things in your life, you will seek to do this. He waits for you, brother. I'll be praying for you.
Ray: gay relationship and gay marriage is different from interracial marriage. You've got it mixed up. An interracial marriage is normal in God's eyes.
Just as our speech is different when we give our hearts to GOD it's the same when one falls away and continues to live in that sin you will be able to tell it. "Don't tell me who to love" speaks volumes about the condition of his heart. GOD help him to see.
