Raybestos Z PAK Review & Installation into our 4L60E 

How is it now? I just took my rig up to get rebuilt on this morning and I took a ZPak up there but was told they’ve pulled them out of some transmissions burnt up. Ofc I’ll still use it, I spent money on it. I took a vette servo up there as well

@@clarksgarageofbadhabits6803 I sold the truck over a year ago. I still talk with the old guy who bought it. He doesn’t tow, but truck & tranny still holding up strong..

So far it's yes and yes, I've had a shift kit in there too for a view months that might have also been helping it

Thanks for the input my customer tows a lot he's a landscaper I will take your advice my worry was heat capability with the Z-pack.

So I rebuilt the input drum in my 99 trans am 4l60e I used raybestos gpz100 (stock 6 disc setup with .106 steels) set my clearance to about .038 because what gm recomends seems way to big (.060 to .086) I know its way to big because I built a drum within gm recomendations and when I air tested the drum I had massive blow by in the 3/4 piston. Anyway im currently building a second 4l60e to replace my current "BUILT" 4l60e Lol so what you are saying is that the stock setup with upgraded full thickness frictions/steels and a tight clearance is just as good or better than the Zpak? Cuz I was debating weather I should throw one in or just copy my last setup but wanted to shoot for like .030 this time.

Uhh sadly I can't say, it ran great even with a shift kit added to it, but the engine for the burb is in the garage getting rebuilt again

No, we had no problems with it, we just only had about 1500 miles on it so I'm not sure that's a good gauge of how good they are. But so far, up to 1500 miles, they've been running perfectly

If you buy and install the zpack yourself, the pack is only $65 amzn.to/3ehWQVD, but you'll also likely be replacing your trans fluid so maybe another $50 for that at the minimum
