Great Reaction can't wait for you to discover more of RAYE and share your thoughts, she is special, her story to this point, her voice, writing, artistry, her honesty about the struggles she's faced and shares in her music, her faith is important to her, her Mom and Dad met in church she was a choristor her dad the musical director, her whole family is musical, she's 26 has been in the business since she was 16 but until 18mths ago was trapped in a record deal where she was constrained artistically to feature tracks on EDM records & pop as that's what sells, now she's independent & going from strength to strength with the release of her debut album My 21st Century Blues which won Best Album of the year at the Brits along with another 5 awards, a record, and this is now her latest single, Art.

To see the progression and versatility of RAYE start with the live version of her track You don't know me with DJ producer Jax Jones released at the very start of her career 6-7 yrs ago, it's how I got hooked. Then move on to her EDM Pop House tracks done under contract like Regardless with Rudimental, Stay with David Guetta, Secrets with Regard, moving to Pop there's Natalie Don't an upbeat version & also an acoustic version that changes the whole song to a soulful ballad just RAYE on piano, She's featured with rappers Stormzy on The Weekend, With Wewantvwraiths, Russ Millions & Da Beatfreakz on Money Calling, then album track videos Hard Out Here, Escapism, Flip A Switch, Black Mascara, Ice CREAM Man & most recently she's just featured on Lucky Dayes R&B song Paralyzed which is just beautiful, she's also singing a cover of Fly Me to the moon on the new movie of the same name to be released in July. Her favourite artist is Nina Simone and she also sings a great version of Feeling Good also on RU-vid 🙂 enjoy your RAYE journey of discovery she is a unique artist whose versatility is pretty much unmatched

Love Raye so much, seen her live 4 times. You should definitely check out her debut album. Also note with this song it is 7 minutes long, released on the 7th of June and she released a 7-inch vinyl for it. 777 = angel number which the name Genesis relates to the first chapter in the bible. I love how she puts so much thought into her music

Great reaction and comment, thanks, great intuition to pick Raye and this song as well, congrats! I also discovered her only a few weeks ago and am obsessed with her, we have very few true authentic artists with that skill set today... Subbed for more of Raye, next maybe her Brit Awards medley (live) or Oscar Winning Tears live at Royal Albert hall... Peace and love from Bavaria!

Tooting, South London. Her Dad is English her Mom Ghanian-Swiss, musical family her sister has also just started out goes by the name Absolutely and has supported her on tour there a couple of her videos online her genre she describes as alien pop
