UPDATE: I did in fact just return the mouse, and not because I didn't enjoy it. As a competitive mouse for me, it just was too small for my grip style to have a consistent experience. Other than that, I just wish it was slightly bigger otherwise it would have been my new main easily. Waiting for a lighter weight competitive level Basilisk or a complete new Razer Mouse to see if I main. Lancehead V2 soon?

Also update, STAY AWAY from Fresh Reviews, he's very biased and recycles his content. I mistakenly recommended him. He does have some common sense in what's decent for tech, but he clearly doesn't clarify details of tech and how they work. He's also wrong about certain gear to a tee, indicating he blasts through reviews without proper time with products. Just fyi

You are 100% right. Gamers are absolutely awful at reviewing things. They go cray cray with placebo and marketing hype like "0.2ms vs 1ms". As for the size, I've already gotten used to the Logitech G903 Hero which is 110 grams and is only 8% longer, and basically the same width and height, so I think the size seems fine. It is just a matter of getting used. You know what would be really funny? A comparison of 500hz vs 8000hz. You know what 8000hz is good for? NOTHING except making your CPU melt by interrupting it 8000 times per second for absolutely zero reason. Guess what? 500hz is already just 2 milliseconds of latency. Yes, even 1000hz is overrated. So many pros use 500hz. Polling rate literally doesn't matter whatsoever. Humans are not even able to perceive a 2 millisecond latency. But try convincing a gamer of that. You could literally fool a gamer into believing anything. The mice brands have just spent years fooling people by putting more and more overkill specs on their mice to fool the easily fooled gamers. 😂🔥
@BenderdickCumbersnatch
@BenderdickCumbersnatch 6 месяцев назад
Oh and by the way, how funny is it that "gamers" complain about 77 grams of weight? Do they have lil girly hands or what? Hahahahah!
@BenderdickCumbersnatch

Another funny thing about gamers is that they are such a hivemind. They are all afraid of questioning the dogma. Anyone who dares to question the religion gets downvoted to hell. :) But hey at least it makes it very easy for the brands to fool them.

I've come to the same conclusion, I don't even remember buying this mouse but it really grew on me. I used the GPro and GPX for years and I've always HATED the way it feels with my grip. But when I tried the Deathadder v3 the ergo was a over correction. The Cobra pro is THE mouse for fingertip/claw hybrid grips. I am glad to see someone give a actual review instead of just regurgitating bs because it isn't super popular yet. Also couldn't agree more when you said "it's 75g but it feels lighter than that", this thing has so much range of motion it feels great with the stock skates alone, but I suppose it would feel even more seamless with some aftermarket glass skates. Also a singular egg weighs roughly 70-75g, so for the people that say it weighs to much I suggest going to the kitchen and getting a egg to use for weight training so you can get up to par for this mouse, dually the egg has 6g of protein so you eat it after to recover from such a intensive workout! EDIT: Forgot to mention that my hand is 7in from middle finger tip to base of palm, and 4.5in wide from thumb knuckle to side of palm. Just in case somebody has a similar hand size and was curious. The only place it falls short is if you're a palm grip, I mean it is do-able, but not ideal. The thicker/tactile scroll clicks are actually a personal preference for me because I use mwheeldwn to jump and have yet jump accidentally from bumping it, which I noticed frequently happened using the Deathadder V3. I could see it becoming tiresome if you have to do a lot of scrolling outside of gaming so if you do a lot of editing/workflow stuff I'd recommend having a separate mouse for those things preferably one that is wired so you can just plug it in quickly when you need and not accidentally leave both on and get some random mouse movements from your work mouse on your gaming mouse when you bump the table etc etc.

Somebody gets it. There is a few consumers who actually understand and have used it, but it's not surprising when I have a bunch of smug wanna be illogical "enthusiasts" trying to clarify there frustration over something that there brain can't figure out. Glad to see you enjoying it, as many others are as well. Cheers 🥂

I’m so glad I found your video on this mouse. I remember first going through the tech specs on the Razer site and liking everything I read, only to find almost everybody on RU-vid absolutely hating it. You brought up great counter arguments to what people are complaining about and answered questions I had that nobody else even bothered to answer. Ended up buying one myself. People are REALLY exaggerating when they call them “bricks” and whatever other bs. I’m coming from the very well-loved Deathadder v2 and that thing is 82g. So thank you for actually talking about the mouse and sharing valuable info. TLDR; you spit the truth, it’s a great mouse, IT’S NOT A BRICK
@BravenTyler

@breezelord
@breezelord 11 месяцев назад
The deathadder v2 is quite literally described as a brick. A very small mouse weighing nearly the same as one of those bricks is clearly purposeful, that's why people are mad. Because they wanted to keep sales of their extortionately priced Viper SE.
@ACxSA
@ACxSA 11 месяцев назад
@@breezelord For me, the Deathadder v2 isn’t too heavy, but it is too big for my hands. I agree that the Cobra is heavier than most of the lightweight mice being released in recent times. And the Viper SE is definitely overpriced, which is what turned me away from it. If Razer is trying to get people to spend more money this way (likely) then I do get it. I don’t agree with it, but I get it. I didn’t talk about this in my original comment, but what mainly bothered me is that so many people are making it seem like the Cobra is still not a mouse worth buying or maining. It really is a great mouse. In my mind it’s a jack of all trades. Because of all the features like rgb, bluetooth+wireless, etc., yes it does add weight. But I think it’s great for the more casual gamer who wants a smaller mouse with some of the qualities that makes a mouse great, as well as some of the bells and whistles. Edit: Reviewers have also said that it didn’t affect their performance while gaming. To me, this is good. It has what I want and it won’t make me be any more or less of a terrible gamer haha
@breezelord
@breezelord 11 месяцев назад
@@ACxSA I'm happy for you, but an egg is still an egg. And for the market that the viper mini was targeted by, they have egg on their face. Because Cobra release is a big FU to them.
@ACxSA
@ACxSA 11 месяцев назад
@@breezelord like I said, I don’t agree with the way Razer is trying to get their customers to spend more. They really could’ve just given Viper fans what they wanted from the get-go. Ah but Razer knows they’re good and seem to be abusing that, unfortunately. My main point was that the Cobra is still a great mouse, and I feel that many people who could’ve potentially bought it are turning away because of the commotion. While I’m happy with the Cobra, I’m really hoping Razer does release a v2 that gives Viper fans what they want for a more acceptable price, soon.
@Inconsistense
@Inconsistense 10 месяцев назад
The following is of course just my opinion but here is why I think majority of people hate the mouse: I think a lot of the complaints were because people had been literally begging Razer for a Viper mini wireless for a long time, apparently what happened is that the designers and engineers were told "the sky is the limit, just make the absolute best mouse we can" which is why the signature edition is so expensive compared to the cheap and cheerful wired mini. The cynical side of me would also say this is Razer capitalising on the popularity of the mini. Anyway so of course some people bought it, and others just couldn't justify the purchase so they asked Razer rep on reddit if a "standard" version would release at the start of 2023 and he just said "wait until summer". Summer comes along and instead of a lightweight stripped down signature edition which was still wireless they were given the Cobra. I am not saying it is inherently a bad mouse, but it isn't aimed at the demographic that loved the viper mini lets be real. So I think that is where a lot of the hate comes from, because they've been waiting so long, and they released two mice that no one asked for, so they can either buy the premium one, or buy the super generic rgb one. Again I don't think the Cobra is inherently bad, but I would say the demographic is more just the average gamer than say fps grinder/viper mini fans.
@BravenTyler
@BravenTyler 10 месяцев назад
And I agree, but what you are stating is literally the only ones voicing there opinion was the ones wanting a viper mini specifically, and that demographic was looking for competitive eSports centric mouse, which they believe there's only one way to do that which is extreme bare bones weight cut mouse. Razer launched a mouse to give all demographics a mouse since it's popular, it's still considered lightweight in real world mice weight, but it's not ultra eSports comp light weight design like others in the fad today. So they packed the mouse to the teeth, kept it lightweight, and sold it for 30 bucks less than the competitors, yet the only ones complaining are the cultist mentality "ultra lightweight stern eSports mini mice" fans. The mouse is the all arounder and hits all markets, to complain is only showing lack of common sense. It's a great mouse, arguably the best I've felt minus size being just a tad too small, and hope they incorporate a viper full size clone to match this, sold easily to me. Also it completely makes the viper mini SE irrelevant, if they were to sell another cheaper version, so there's that. They did the right thing period and that's why they stand by it, as do I and anyone else that doesnt just follow the sheep herd of comp mice as the only to exist. Can't fix brainless unfortunately. But cheers for the words I get your side 🍻

good unbiased review... I think people have been blended by marketing / advertising of mice over the past years relatingn to the lightwheight trend. a lot of people would have more consistent aim if there mouse wouldn't be that lightwheight, based on hand dexterity. i mean, there was a time where most cs:go used zowie ec2/ec1 -> ec2-b to be precise, which was 90g.... i pulled the trigger on the cobra, for me it will always be shape over wheight....

I think what it does is raise the skill ceiling as lighter weight means raw hand movements. while it may be harder to control, once you are used to it you can do micro adjustments not possible on heavier mice. why do you think people use small paint brush for finer details while big ones for larger strokes, which brush would capture the minor details properly?

i have tried both heavy and lightweight. Lightweight always feels better for tactical shooters like valorant and csgo when playing on low sens. And this was a huge let down from razer. There are other mice by razer in the same budget with a bigger size in the lower weight category. They could have easily done it.
@BravenTyler
@BravenTyler 10 месяцев назад
Clearly lightweight is better for tac shooters, and the only ones being let down by this mouse are the ones who dont understand it's purpose, a fully feature packed mouse can't weigh the same as a shaved down less packed mouse. This is a premium mouse for those who want the aesthetic and durable design, this isn't tailored to only two games. Also you are wrong as it's still considered lightweight, it's 77g, which is below the 80 gram mark as medium going to heavy weight. It's not a letdown, at all, it's misunderstood which makes my video valid and others informed. The consumer can only be right if the consumer isnt uneducated and seeing alot of society today, it's safe to say the only ones complaining of this mouse are the far minute percentile, vs the overall consumer base buying the mouse. Also, it's 30 dollars cheaper than your mice your talking about, so that's also incorrect. Your opinion is just that, an opinion but you're welcome for the proper information. Cheers 🍻
@frostbitenp6805
@frostbitenp6805 8 месяцев назад
@@BravenTyler yours can be called just an opinion as well. what makes the standard for calling a mouse light? in my opinion other competing mouse. 80g used to be light weight 6 to 7 years ago, now most mice are averaging 60g. cobra pro is definitely a heavier mouse as viper ultimate came with all the bells and whistles and a bigger shape while weighing 74g. also, as of right now viper v2 pro is 105 pounds vs 130 pounds for the cobra pro so it depends when you buy. while cobra pro is not a bad mouse, it is definitely a disappointment to people hoping for a viper mini wireless. you might want to change the word uneducated to uninformed as it gives a different meaning.
@BravenTyler
@BravenTyler 8 месяцев назад
@@frostbitenp6805 there's alot wrong with your statement, for starters, the viper V2 pro is on sale for 105 dollars, because it's older now and they have the new viper V3 shape coming soon, it's to get rid of inventory. Second, this is misunderstood, I get it, people want the eSports viper mini wireless at a "fair" price, but that would completely remove the viper mini SE from the market, so no sales would happen and it would be a waste of manufacturing. Third, lightweight was considered 75g and below in 2019, which was only 4 years ago, ultralight wasn't even a thought until 2020-2021, which only blew up in the enthusiast market not the full consumer market. And last of all, weight isn't what's selling, it's shape. So now that the Deathadder V3 is neck and neck with Logitechs G Pro Superlight series, it's all about shape not weight. The sales show that ultralight weight mice are only bought in the competitive enthusiast market just slightly over heavier mice, so businesses are buying into the trend and producing ultra lightweight mice. Logitech and Razer are practically on the same thought process in this, keeping there heavier feature packed mice in the lineup, but ones scamming you on tech and up selling it (Logitech) while the other is actually for the consumer and even trademarking tech to isolate themselves from competition (Razer). Cheers

As someone who has used the mouse, the tech in it isn't inherintly bad, but it could have been executed so much better. Most people wanting a wireless Viper Mini were people who loved how light and cheap the old one was, which the Cobra didn't do. 130 for a mouse is a lot, and considering the Viper Mini was a "budget mouse", this definitley missed the mark in that regard. All people wanted was a wireless Viper Mini that was light, affordable, and not filled with unnessesary features, such as rgb. What further confuses me is the "pro" in the name. The pro line of Razer mice are usually super simple, ultra lightweight mice that are specifically designed for competative esports, which is definitley not what the cobra was aimed towards. This mouse isn't terrible, but it's definitley not what most people were asking for.

It's actually not what "most people" are asking for, just the ultra lightweight enthusiast market. From a business standpoint, you would be eliminating any reason to buy a viper mini SE with a budget friendly option. It's highly praised by those that understand the purpose of the cobra, hated by those being greedy for there aspiration of the mouse. Literally is the best small mouse on the market, best sensor, best switches, best everything. The only thing it's not best at, is weight, but it's still lightweight, just not ultra lightweight, and it's currently for 94 bucks on Amazon, so it's definitely the biggest deal to get. All I can say is for those who want ultra lightweight viper mini, wait for the cobra hyperspeed or cobra V2, since the viper mini will be done by then.

@@BravenTyler exactly this is business oriented not catered towards enthusiasts and competitive players who have been specifically asking for treatment as viper v2 pro with viper mini shape. if they came out with a cobra lineup with a still small but different shape and named it cobra ultimate not as many people would criticize it but razer decided to slap the pro in it and basically said to enthusiasts if they want mini wireless just get signature edition of course people are bound to get disappointed since most of the content on mouse reviewing is based around competitiveness of the mouse whether its price, quality, weight or shape.

130 for this mouse is a scam any way you slice it. Razer is literally an enthusiast mouse brand, there's a reason the Cobra is selling like shit right now. @@BravenTyler

That doesnt real reflect why peopl critic the existing of the cobra . Instat of calling it a viper mini that woud make sens in there line up they used a new name for a mouse that has nothing spezial on top of denying again peopl a real viper mini wirless mouse thats not over priced like the viper mini SE but they have no problem to throw out a compleatly new line that lets be real is not realy anything spezial . It also shoudnt weight any were near 75gs

Once again, people arent understanding this mouse at all. It's a new line with slight different design and specs, you can't rename this a viper mini again, defeats the whole purpose of buying it if the viper mini SE exists. So yes it absolutely reflects it perfectly, can't expect the consumer to just be smarter than the brand, that's why Logitech sells more, breaks more, with less tech and higher price, because the consumer isnt logical. Everything about this mouse is fine, the ones complaining are the enthusiasts who want a viper mini SE but cheaper, which just makes 0 sense for the viper mini SE to even exist in the first place. This shouldn't even be explained at all, it's common sense but here we are.

Honestly it's not the best one theyve released this year, because I think the razer viper v2 is sm betterrrr

Have you used it? I think build wise it's the best, it performs as good as pro models, with everything else that the Viper V2 doesn't have, but both are top tier mice regardless
