I bought this headset 2 months ago, and they cracked today. They cracked at the adjustable bands place, one side cracked. And i set the size on 4, so my head isn't big or anything. It happened to me few hours ago, and i had to share this story with all the people who consider buying it. Better buy a bit more expensive ones, then this. Frame of headsets is very low quality and can crack on few different places. It's like they are made of paper. I was saving money for quite some time to buy them, but im so dissapointed now i have no words. And of course, i can't refund or do anything, cause razer doesnt know is it my fault for cracking them. Im a calm person, and i treated the sets very gently, so this is not worth of a buy for sure, especially for passionate gamers who don't pay much attention how they put this headset on their head etc. I have razer keyboard, mouse pad, mouse, so i don't hate razer in any way, but this headsets are the weakest item in their shop for sure. I will copy this message to all clips about this headsets, maybe it will help someone. Sorry for long post.
Although the headset is extremely light, the plastic material will eventually crack and break. The sound quality is good with the 7.1 surround sound available from razer, and the mic cable is extremely sturdy.
MY GLASSES PROBLEM IS OVER!!! My mam used to scream at me all the time time for not wearing my glasses while gaming, but with these headphones that problem is over🤣🤣
Hi! I have a couple questions about the mic testing method. 1.- Did you deactivate Windows' "enhancements" before testing? Specifically, noise cancellation. They should be OFF as not to interfere with the microphone capabilities. 2.- How far from the mouth did you place it? To avoid plosives it's enough just to place it on the side of the mouth out of the air stream, but not inches away. Thanks!
I got this and it snapped inside my backpack, great thing is I only had a three month warranty and I went past that... so yeah, I glued it and taped it back up and it works all the same, wires never broke.
Hi, one of the better reviews I’ve seen and believe me I’ve watched dozens of different reviews on different headsets as I am a fussy bugger. Personally for me, the absolute priority is sound quality as opposed to comfort and the mic. I bought the Astro A10’s and I’m used to turtle beach so I was really disappointed with the lack of bass in the Astro A10’s. I like bass but I also like clear bass and not muddy overpowering unbalanced bass. How good is the sound quality on these Razer headsets as opposed to Astro A10’s and the turtle beach recon 200 if you’ve tried any of those..I know you said these were bass heavy but is it nice and crisp? 😌 thanks
Nice review! No un necessary promoting, talking or anything thats not needed. Just straight into the review. Nice video, Keep up the great work! Btw is there an audio difference between the normal on and the ps4 one on ps4??
Just bought. Real good for the money. Hoping the plastic head band won't ''Kraken'' ! Sounds good. Nice bass. I had to tweak the trebles and some mediums for games to sound like my old Steelseries / Icemat, but the bass is much better and surround is pretty good for hearing footsteps and their direction. Tried on Dayz and sounds good. Will try BFV tomorrow. I'm trying it with my phone right now watching this review for the second time and the video sounds like I'm hearing the reviewer in front of me IRL.
Thank you for the video. One thing that confused me is the adapter with the two 3.5 mm male jacks. Do I need two jack ports in my laptop to use this headset?
my astro a10 mic is broke af, this is actually cheaper i recommend the astro a10s 100% of the time but the astro a10s are $60 and the kraken is $40 for this i might have to buy.
Astro a10 don’t have 7.1 sound surround :/ if you want it you need to buy control station and it worth 110$ so headset plus control station 150-160$ ://
I know this is a whole year late but the Kraken headphones are much better, metal shell gives for more durability and the noise cancellation is a whole lot better
I just need a headphone for casual gaming sessions, I dont play competitive due to poor internet connection. Should I pick this up or opt for the kraken pro v2?
does kraken x really has 7.1 surround sound? i just bought it yesterday and i dont know if it has surround sound. i already installed 7.1 in my desktop windows 10 but when i listen to it, it just doesnt work
Well I bought them for the PS4 but it turned out it was USB not AUX and the volume on the ps4 for it was so low I turned it up all the way but it wouldn’t change anything. I feel like I messed up pretty bad. And I bought them from Kogan if you guys wanted to know where from.
You won't be able to use the 7.1 Software in PS4, however if you want surrounding sound boost for it go to your PS4 setting-sound and screen-audio output setting-audio format (priority)-bistream(Dolby) This setup was recommended by another product reviewer to get surround sound somehow in it. Nevertheless what do you think Jordan Ash for this set-up you think would make some sense in trem of surrounding sounds in this headset. Thank you in advance
@@willasc7691 If you have a desktop PC everyone has a sound card integrated with the motherboard, sometimes the one that comes built-in is crappy and that's where you'd search for an upgrade. It's a pretty cheap upgrade ranging from 20-50 dollars but most times it's unnecessary.
I'm about to get these headphones. So i will have 7.1 surround on my pc, but i will be using this for consoles as well. So is the audio still good without 7.1 surround?
So i bought these headphones and theyre great, but the software will not work for me, when ever i set the razer surround as my default audio output, it will make me not able to hear anything, and also every youtube video i watch goes white and then shows me an error saying "audio renderer error. please restart your computer." any help?
My brother has the cloud stingers and their pretty good I’m getting the kraken whatever there called in a couple days I’ll tell you which ones are better
I have a problem with this headset. When I use it in my xbox one and put my phone near the mic, i start to hear a static and i can’t fix it. Help me please.
So I have had these for a while and I have a blue yeti and I want to hear the 7.1 but when I plug it into the jack it only shows me Realtek so is there a way to get the 7.1 on a diffrent input jack
@@jordanash where is the damn software, GRR Only the front two (stereo) speakers work testing my sound. I'm pretty good with google and can't locate the software. Yes, I have Synapse installed, but if I understand correctly a PC can't detect anything via 3.5mm, so there's no indication in Synapse that the heaphones are there. If the 7.1 is just supposed to magically work if you have Synapse running, it's not.
I can’t download Synapse on my Microsoft tablet or MacBook... the sound is terrible without downloading the surround sound. Any instructions you can give me??
I called Customer Service and they said that Krazer Kraven X wasn’t able to use Synapse 2.0. Only the Surround Sound 7.1 but even with the 7.1 downloaded I couldn’t find a way to activate or connect it to my headset
ive been using the razer kraken x for a while now both with and without the surround sound enabled. They sound really distant and tinny. Im not sure if thats because of my other headset that ive gotten used to thats about the same price that i got in 2018. I really want to believe that these sound good because i normally dont spend that much money on a headset but i havent owned enough to know if thats what a normal headset sounds like and i really want to believe these are good but I just can't. Is this how other headsets sound? Is this how its supposed to be? edit: also whenever i use the headphones for about an hour i start to feel ill when sound is playing. is this normal? is there anything i can do to fix it? please help me
I have stereo speakers in a single directional setup and somehow can understand what direction things are happening How can I be sure that 7.1 is really 7.1 and not 7.yourfreecash
my personal experience and overview with the headset - i bought this headset and because all the ratings and mic test were great, and it said that there would be 7.1 surround sound. But in console you can not activate the 7.1 surround sound, and when i figured that out it was too late and i already had the headset. If you are willing to buy and open back headset, which means there is just some small space between your ear and headset, these headsets are your type, but personally, i like over ear headset, because you can hear the game better and experience sounds louder, whenever i play on this headset, i cannot hear as much gameplay as i would with my over ear headset. Out of ten for comfort ability i would rate 6 because sometimes i would have to adjust the headset to make it over ear, but yet i couldn’t hear game as well. And overall i would rate it a 7/10.
The most common thing people ask is about using this on console, but without the software it doesn't work. You aside, I answer that question in the video
I bought one of these, the sound quality is good but it has almost no bass on my xbox and too much high range, I've also tried the kraken x lite and have the same issue. What am I doing wrong?
I was going to bye this for my Xbox but I seen two jacks and I was wondering if I was able to use just one for audio and mic because Xbox does not have two jacks and I dont want to bye them if I can only use it for audio I want to use both audio and mic because Xbox only has one.
i just bought this headset, and my friends would tell me that i would far away and when i talk i can hear my own voice like an echo, so i wanted to comment and ask if you would know why? if i bought a bad one, overall i think its great but my friends say otherwise..
I just ordered it this week and am getting it next week. Is the audio input/output better with Voicemeeter? Or it works just fine without audio software?
@@TamBruv If you scroll down through comments section of this video, u can see 2 guys complaining about this headset. One guy is saying that his headset causes Frame drops in games if he enables 7.1 feature. And his mic doesn't work. Another guy saying that he received a refund because his headset sometimes stays good, sometimes goes quiet. Have you getting this kind of trouble. Im willing to buy one for its good 7.1 as the video says..
I miswrote, he showed the switch, but did not operate it and I think people might have liked to see it. It's not that big a deal, but I liked the look of it in the store.
@@jordanash sorry if I came across rude or anything. I am not a native speaker 😅 just wanted to tell you one very minor thing you could have done even better in your great review ❤ Do you have a way to compare the kraken x to the new blackshark v2 x ? I looked but could not find anyone (beside a tiny remark on hardware canucks) who is comparing those two side by side so to speak.
I can't figure out how to access the virtual surround sound because the 7.1 Surround sound app won't open upon installation. When I click on it, it just opens the Razer AppEngine. Can anyone help?
@@jordanash Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, the 7.1 Surround Sound app doesn't open regardless of whether headset is plugged in or not. All it does it open the Razer AppEngine in my PC's system tray, through which all I can do is view my Razer ID info. I've sent a support request to Razer so hopefully they'll be able to help me out.
