Hey Matt! I just recently purchased a razor lot that included a Fatboy, Lady Gillette (blue), and an Aristocrat exactly like the one you reviewed in this video! It has no cracks, just one slightly bent tooth! The patina is just like yours! Best of all, I only paid just over $34 for the whole lot! Thanks for showing this in your archive series! JimG

always enjoy your videos, but the one I like is Gillette aristocrat adjustable razor and the fatboy the adjustable razors make it easier to pick the level you wanna use for shaving is the reason I like them so much

I love the Merkur 15c because it has that curve open comb like the Gillette old types. And I Iove Gillette old types.

Can you do a video on the Gillette Sheraton? It’s quite interesting because it’s a tto with an open comb, and I was given my grandfather’s old one. I watched your video about lazy doors, and was able to fix and refinish it because of your advice. Thanks for your videos and sharing of knowledge. You have really inspired me and grown my interest in wet shaving. I think I’ll shave with my Grandpa’s razor today 😃. Thanks

sippel2009 how to open the razor. I couldn't do it with a screw driver. It didn't have a screw. Could you help me.

neil dsouza mine did have a screw and I got it out no problem. I was unable to disassemble the rest of the way and remove the t bar. I think the t bar was crimped in durning the manufacturing process, so I was unable to remove it. I cleaned it up wit the t bar mechanism still inside. Sorry I couldn’t help more.

I have a gold plated Aristocrat but don't know when it was made as there is no numbers or letters on the under side of the head. It looks very similar to a Gillette Fatboy head but the handle is a little thicker than a Fat Boy.

MATT.... HELP. I just found one of these at an antique store No crack in the handle that I found, maybe because of the patina on it. Box hinge is broken, but both blade banks are there. What is a good price? What's to much? All teeth are straight. Thanks

Is Purchasing this case banned in some countries?

neil dsouza. While celluloid is highly flammable, it is not banned in any country. It might not be allowed on airplanes, but the likelihood anyone could tell is slim. Celluloid is a plant-based plastic which tends to smell like camphor, especially when rubbed with one’s finger. It’s nontoxic and biodegradable. The material can take months to cure, making it impractical for most modern uses. It is still used in some high end fountain pens.
