Great comparison, Brian!! A belated congrats on the 600 subs! I need to re-visit these razors, soon. I agree in the blade-feel of the Lupo. Base-plate taps annoys me, too...If only the GC had the taps on the top cap! Have you tried the Mamba? I got the Mamba 70 on a S&D sale... Great razor, but same annoying base plate taps... Have a great week! And Stay Safe!! 🤙 #WAD
@@SIGSOLO after I saw your comparison of Astra Green and Blue blades the combo of Astra Blue with Mamba .53 became my favorite DE razor/blade combo for daily shaving. My favorite SE for this is Schick L injector with Supply Black Label blades.
@@Mvendrel Great to hear that the comparison was usable and that the Astra Blue works for you! The Mamba is a great razor that goes under the radar for a lot of people! I haven't tried the Supply Black blades, but I hear great things about them! Have a great weekend!! And Stay Safe! 🤜💥🤛
@@SIGSOLO the Black label may not be actually the same as the Japanese Schick blades but they shave almost identically and they come from Seki City as do Feather and Kai blades.
Great comparison, Brian! I prefer the Mamba (.53 or .70) to either of these but I also like the Lupo and the GC .68 with slight preference for the Lupo. But I prefer the original aluminum Lupo to the SS one. I pair the aluminum Lupo with two part aluminum handle from Russian military travel razor. That makes my favorite DE travel razor when I have blades or can check blades. (throw the Russian plastic head away BTW). My favorite Carry-on razors are Atra Vintage Aluminum Handle with European Atra/Contour 2-blade carts or a Schick injector I, L, or M with one blade loaded. You can’t carry on DE blades or an injector key.
@@thewetshaveexperience6988 you’re more than welcome. I spend about 1/2 the weeks of the year traveling on assignments and I hate to check a bag and hate bad shaving experiences so I’ve put a lot of thought into the traveling shaving experience with carry-on stuff. I’m quite fond of the Wilkinson Sword Blue Shaving stick and a synthetic travel brush I got from Col Conk.
Great comparison of the razors. I agree with you that lupo is a better looking razor and also I prefer the posts on the top cap compared to the plate for easier loading. Thanks for doing the video. Will wait for your mamba comparisons before I order up a lupo.
