King Shit 38:21 Anyone that cut their metal teeth with The Big Four, and then dug a little deeper into the indie scene, should receive a major endorphin rush when they discover that speed and thrash masters RAZOR are about to release their first studio offering in 25 years. The album, Cycle of Contempt, is a direct, cutthroat record that pulls no punches and takes no prisoners. From the catchy, concise riffs and insistent beats of album opener “Flames of Hatred” to the double-barreled assault, muted power chord chugging and combative gang vocal of album closer “King Shit,” Cycle of Contempt is a trenchant reminder of a time when clubs around the world were packed with long-haired bands that played as fast as they could and mosh pits that spun and tumbled like clothes in a short-circuiting dryer. As energetic and exciting as Evil Invaders and as urgent and powerful as RAZOR’s 1989 speed-fest Violent Restitution, Cycle of Contempt showcases a band that never stopped spewing venom. “I tried to write songs that everybody could listen to and say, “Yeah, I know a guy who's done that to me or done this, or I know that situation. I can relate to that,” band founder Dave Carlo says. “And I didn’t want to make everything specifically about me because when you do that, you exclude people. I wanted to include everyone that’s ever felt pissed off about anything.” An unrelenting slab of old-school thrash that showcases RAZOR's encyclopedic knowledge of the past along with Carlo’s growth as a songwriter, player, and lyricist, Cycle of Contempt is here to show that RAZOR are as dominating as ever.
THANKS RAZOR for this album atomic bomb !!! With this album you have wiped out all those famous bands that come back on the market with albums adapted to the stupid modern teenagers ... You will always have the respect of us supporters because you were the first to respect your supporters, and this is absolutely worth more than any fucking money ... Oh yeah, I'll buy the album and listen to it until I wear it out and make my ears bleed
Cut my teeth? Damn brothers, I haven't even cut my hair. 50 and going on strong, thanks for finally releasing another title after Decibels! The wait...oh, so damned long 😓
Mass respect for Dave and everything he's endured over the years to still bring us some straight up thrash metal thanks Mr Carlo your a living legend in my book

@1989-90?? Violent Restitution is a classic from 1988. Can't remember name of Razor's 1986 LP, but it's fast too. Is Sacrifice from Canada similar to these bands? Annihilator sounds like Razor, but a little slower and more varied. Razor's version of Army of One would be a blast!!
Holy fuckin shit after all these years dave carlo still writing the best agressive in your face riffs in speed metal....not to mention that riffing old school guitar tone....killer record.. Right after shotgun justice!
Didn't these dudes were still kickin it,when i bought executioners song when first came out i became a fan for life 🤘💣💥☠greetings from Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦
Me too! I buy the Custom Killing as Import ...i'm a "Deutscher" and i must wait for the LP 6 Weeks! Executioners Song was my first Album too...i Buy all Albums from RAZOR, when you read the old Album Critics from Metal Hammer, you know what for Cock Sucking Posers this stupid journalists was ... Pipeheads, with no idea what Metal is! They give "Poison" Glam Rock 10 Stars, and RAZOR 3 Stars....this Magazin Suckers!
@@ruedigernassauer at that time i was a big fan of German metal and most anything from Europe, just loved Warrant and Iron Angel, and of course Accept around that period 💣💥☠🤘
Great albums, so glad to see such band as Razor come back to life again ! Hopefully, someday to see you live on stage thrashin'. Old school spirit never dies
Jibbi Kaahyeah .... Uff-Ta-Uff-Ta .... Hell Yeah, my Heros are Back, Dave Carlo, I Love You, you are my Soul Mate! You know, "Chuck Schuldiner" was a Special Person of Metal Music, and his Voice was the Pain in this World! After he Die i cry 14 Days! Than "Mike Saccacia" from Rigor Mortis... this two Guys was my lead line, for my self to play Guitar... But the First Man who LEAD me to Play Curlty Agonized Powerfull Weaponized Guitar Riffs was "Dave Carlo"! I'm so lucky with my 55 Life Years that i can listen to a NEW RAZOR Album, i'm sure i will BUY IT, not for to listen, yes sure i listen to it every day...but i will BUY IT to SUPPORT my Soul Mate "Dave Carlo" and his Great Band RAZOR!!!!
Han pasado 2 años y este disco de razor todavía sigue siendo recordado cómo UNA BASURA, espero qué en un futuro no salga un weon de la cloaca a decir qué es "una joya infravalorada adelantada a su época".
After listening to this record, I now have just swollen up like the hulk and I have an uncontrollable urge smash and pulverize everything in sight! Peep game millennials this is how it's done.
Really? You're gonna put an ad in the middle of the song Jabroni? WTF? But a decent release, still would have wondered what the sound would be like with Stace.
I love Razor, especially Shotgun Justice. I feel like the vocals in particular have lacked energy/restlessness in their delivery since that one though.
If you see this, do yourself a favor, pause this and switch to Spotify. RU-vid has compressed the audio and it sounds like shit compared to streaming and physical formats.
Didn't this album cover originally have the shotgun justice guy weilding a shotgun pointing down the guys head blowing it to pieces ??? Somebody please fill me in because I could swear on my life that this isn't the original album cover...unless I'm experiencing a mandella effect here.
@@dekapitatorr if some of the humans are clones who needs a drum machine to make them think they made an album. Some of the music is being auto generated to answer thing is ask. way too fast for a 2 year recording process to have happened
The whole album is like listening to the same song over and over again, everything is executed in the same way, the instruments sound very robotic and compressed, as for the vocals, there is not much variation either, it seems that the singer was reading a paper and singing to the time, I don't know but the truth is that this album disappointed me, it is true that they are a band from the glorious years of Thrash but definitely this album has no salvation anywhere.
