Ken, I received my Razo Rock GC .76 and it has got to be the best razors ever. I have many razors from all of the big names and I actually bought a Rex Ambassador several years ago for over $249.00. This is the best razor that only cost me $61.94 to my door. I really wish I would have learned about this Razo Rock a decade ago.
"Welcome to the party, Pal" lol... Thanks for the review, Ken. The Feather AS came before the RazoRock GC. The Feather was one of the first "high-end" stainless steel razors. It is made using a metal injection molding technique (MIM). The Feather is still a wonderful shaver. Thanks for raising awareness about skin health and I'm very happy to hear you are doing well. Cheers, my friend.
I have the .84 with the super knurled handle. It is one of my favorite razors. Never had a bad shave with it. Good on you for encouraging checking health issues. I am a prostate cancer survivor. Do what needs done gents. Take care.
This is the first time I’ve seen your shaving channel on YT. I like your very natural and casual style! I’m in Canada, and I just started my DE safety razor journey about 3 months ago after ditching my Gillette cartridge razor. My first razor was a Merkur 34C, but I ordered a RazoRock GC .84 with the bulldog handle as an upgrade from the 34C, and I love it. The 34C was just too mild for my usual 3-4 days growth between shaves. The GC .84 is definitely more aggressive/efficient than the 34C, so it took me 4 or 5 shaves to get used to it. I’ve tried Feather and Derby Extra blades, and both work well. I’m waiting for the GC .68 plate to be back in stock, then I’m going to order it as well as their new GC .76 plate. The Feather razor looks very nice and well made too, but you just can’t beat the performance/price ratio on the RazoRock razors being they are full CNC machined from the best 316L marine grade stainless steel, with very tight tolerance of 2/1000 inch, they simply can’t be beat. I love the customization features, too. I’ll be looking for your shave comparison between the GC and Feather razors. Keep on shavin….
I've been shaving with the Mamba 72 forever and recently decided to get the game changer 68. There's no going back now. The game changer 68 gives you just a little blade feel for more feedback and is more efficient without the bite. The mamba has very little feedback and since it has zero exposure you have to press a little harder to get the job done. Anyway, the 68 is my everyday now
I bought my GC (the .84p) about three years ago; it took a couple of months and I ended up with the UFO handle because the HD and Bulldog handles were sold out. I like the UFO handle, as it turns out. I haven't used the razor in a few months; time to give it another spin! BTW, they have something like eight different GC base plates now - the .68 and .84 in closed comb, open comb, and JAWS (extra aggressive OC); and now .76 and 1.04 in closed comb.
I’m in the same boat. I have literally tried over 3 dozen razors including expensive ones that sell for over $400.00 and so far nothing beats the Overlander. I’m reluctant to try another razor because most are disappointing. I found the Leaf Twig to be pretty close though and it is surprisingly great too, which is why I’ve kept that one too. I sold the rest of them, and the gamechanger definitely has my attention and I’d like to try one but until I hear an Overlander owner say they’re better I will not get one. Both the Overlander and the Twig have excellent performance against the grain, especially under the nose which is a very sensitive area to shave. Other razors I’ve tried just can’t shave well there and either leave me with a noticeable stubble or cut it up badly. If any Overlander owners could chime in with your experience with the Gamechanger & which plate you like & how it compares to the Karve Overlander, it would be appreciated.
@@billjohnsonseattle To answer your post briefly. The only version of the GameChanger that will be as smooth or smoother than the Overlander when going ATG is the 68 plate. Anything more will have more blade feel than the Overlander. The 68 is fantastic daily driver (a bit less efficient than Overlander) but great comfort and enough efficiency for BBS with 3 passes. I don't think it is "better" per say as it all depends on what you are looking for and experiences vary with hair type and skin type.
Greatings from Athens, Greece. Once again I have to say that your videos are very interesting and informative. As far as Fine & Razorock shaving products, both are available in Greece, even those with alcohol.
A perfect shave Ken. Thanks for mentioning me and I'm glad you enjoy those soaps and aftershaves I sent you. I've been eyeballing the Stainless Steel Hawk single edge but don't know if the standard V3 plate is aggressive or not. I've also been looking at Blackland's Vector single edge too and I have some money saved up for it. But that's quite a bit of money for a razor that I may or may not like. What is the Blackland Vector SE like?
I've got the .68. Excellent razor. I like it better than the .72 Lupo. I have a .95 Lupo I use when I let it grow out a lot. The Barber Blue soap is excellent.
You the MAN, I just went to the Derm. and no BS thought about your visits to them. Got a large thing "shaved" , it's benign.....still looks raw (going on 3w) got 3 in the face burnt (electric), I think nothing happened..... Now to shaving: love that IB blue soap. My first and still the fav. Razorock makes 2 of the best razors of all ( Wunderbar (slant) better than all others; and the LUPO DC (dual comb) that one is great!!! Any of these 2 is all one person needs....the rest are for all addicts/collectors
Great shave. I’ve always wanted to try the Game Changer as it’s been recommended to me a lot. Hopefully, when I get a chance, I might go get it. I finally got to try the Gillette Wilkinson Sword blades today and I got a great shave from them. I’ll be happy to go back to them when I feel like it. You inspired me to try them out, and I’m glad they worked out for me. Have a good one!
Afternoon, Ken - Ever since i started hanging out here in the Shave Den with you, I've been mindful of your weather out there on the West coast. Hope all stays well. Always been curious about the various "Fine" after shave products and might have to go and shop later. Thanks, and take good care...
You won't get a bad shave with the Game Changer. I have the .68 head with the Super Knurl handle. RazoRock has the best quality/value for stainless steel safety razors. IMO of course. The Feather-GameChanger comparison shave will be interesting.
I have owned both the 0.68 and 0.84 versions, and surprisingly the more aggressive one was much gentler on my skin. Fortunately, the plates are available separately. Anyway, both were very effective and gentle, since I've had them I've cut myself with them maybe 2-3 times. They are excellent razors.
I use the same setup including the Personna blades as my daily shave however, I have the Bulldog handle instead of the HD. Very similar handles. I also have the .76 game changer head but I reach for the .68 on most days. Excellent razor! Out of my collection this is my No brainer go-to…
Good shave Ken, the game changer recently came out with a 1.05mm blade gap also, the 0.68 is my favourite though, yes you can buy fine and razorock products in the EU, RazoRock are popular on shaving product websites in Italy mostly, most other shaving websites have Fine products 👍😊
Kensurfs I love watching your videos why because your in southern California where I was born I'm born in orange county California but I never been their I was raised in lafayette indiana since I was 3 years old
12:12 & 14:25 >>> your father in law fell, better go and look ( just kidding because of the sounds in the background ) But damn, the way you shave looks soooo easy. I've been following you for over a year now and am impressed all the time. You use some things other don't and I quit like that so thank you very much ! Again, I was just kidding with the sounds etc ( please forgive me if I have somehow offended you )
Love that handle, works great with R41 as it change the balance more towards the handle and makes R41 more comfortable. But still, great size & weight in Razorock's HD handle no doubt 😊
Oh that’s tough, there are so many. Big brands the Omega, Semogue, Simpson. Then there are DSCosmetic, Frank Shaving and Yaqi. I’ve been hearing good things from serious brush guys about how they like the handle and performance of the new KENSURFS brush.
Great shaving video, yes at one of the Danish sites i shop on has both Razor rock and fine products, stay safe, cheers.....Peter yes i´m from Denmark ( Europe ) or if you prefer Scandinavia
My Razorock GameChanger with the 68 and 84 plates arrived today! Can't wait to try it out, so instead I'm watching videos :) I'm fast becoming a fan of stainless steel razors!
Amazing that RazoRock can make SS machined razors of such quality for the price, easily worth much more. Going Thursday to dermatologist for Basal Cell removal on arm, gotta be proactive. Nice shave, thanks.
I feel for you Ken, I had a spot on my right Temple that needed to get removed luckily they used dissolving stitches but the pain afterwards was Unreal 4 months into it it's finally starting to heal. My idea of getting a tan is now out the window because of this I was thinking about picking that razor up and now you probably made up my mind.
I went to the Dermatologist last to remove skin tag I have! doctor found something that look subspecies! when it came back from the lab it came back as melanoma skin cancer on my lower back near my behind! I couldn't bend or lif for 2 weeks and am only 36
I have the razorock gamechanger with hd handle and both plates, I find the .68p too mild for my beard growth but the .84 is very smooth and efficient, feels like there is no blade in it but gets me bbs with no irritation, nacet blades are my go to in it.
I purchased the Game Changer back in 2018 when it first came out with the .68 base plate and Radio handle. Since I am a daily shaver it's one of my go to razors
Dermatologists can also eliminate individual ingrown hair folicals with a neddle treatment. It's relatively pain free, only takes a few seconds and it's not very expensive!
Nice shave Ken. Those Personna blades are my favorite. I am thinking about getting the game changer in the same configuration as you have. Have a great week, be safe and try to keep dry. 👍
Great advice Ken, even here in rainy old England I’ve had a few moles I had to get checked out, better safe than sorry 😊 and yes we get Fine here, American Blend is my favourite 😊
Hello, Ken. First of all, sorry for my English. I like very much your way to make videos. Thank you so much for sharing them. I send my like for you. Thanks God you're safe! Skin cancer is something serious if you don't go to the doctors in time. As an European (I'm from Spain), I can say that Razorock products is selled here. I use a Merkur 42 C razor, a great and cheap razor, three pieces, closed comb. Its agressivity is low-medium. Stay safe and enjoy the weekend! Kindest regards from a spaniard.
This is such a fun hobby. For me, I Love the UFO handle on my GC.68👍🪒 I also bought the .76 head, pretty nice! I find that Gillette Perma-Sharps ad Personna Platinums work very well in the Game Changer.
